Archway Campground Introduce
For local users in search of "camping near me" in the New Paris, Ohio area, Archway Campground, located at 9388 Old National Rd, New Paris, OH 45347, USA, presents itself as a potential option. Based on the limited reviews available, the campground seems to have aspects that are viewed positively, alongside some noted drawbacks regarding the site conditions. Let's delve into what can be gleaned about its environment, services, and features from the provided customer feedback.
Regarding the environment, one reviewer described it as a "beautiful place to go," which suggests that Archway Campground may possess some appealing natural or aesthetic qualities. This positive sentiment hints at a potentially pleasant setting for those looking to enjoy the outdoors. However, the second review offers a contrasting perspective on the physical condition of the campground itself. This reviewer noted "Gravel, potholes, narrow compatibility down over a hill to a flat spot with Gravel undeveloped sites" and described it as "Muddy." This paints a picture of a more rustic environment that may have uneven terrain and potentially challenging conditions, especially in wet weather. Therefore, the environment seems to have both attractive elements and areas that might require consideration depending on individual preferences and camping equipment.
In terms of services and features, one reviewer highlighted the owners, stating that they "seem very nice and very polite." This suggests a welcoming and positive interaction with the campground management, even in situations where they might not have immediate availability. The reviewer also mentioned that the owner was trying to make space for them, indicating a willingness to accommodate guests. This personal touch and politeness from the owners could be a significant draw for those who value friendly service. Beyond this, the reviews do not explicitly detail specific amenities such as restrooms, showers, fire pits, or other common campground facilities. The mention of "undeveloped sites" in one review might imply a more basic camping experience.
The first review also mentions that the campground is "good for the price" and that "the people there are blessed," although the context of the latter statement is unclear. The affordability, if indeed the pricing is competitive, could be a factor for budget-conscious campers. However, without specific pricing information or details about what is included for the price, it's difficult to fully assess this aspect.
Promotional information is not explicitly present in the provided reviews. The positive comments about the beauty of the location and the politeness of the owners could be seen as indirect endorsements. However, there are no specific offers or promotions mentioned.
For local users searching for "camping near me," Archway Campground presents a mixed picture based on the available feedback. The owners seem to be well-regarded for their politeness and helpfulness. The campground is described by one person as beautiful and good for the price. However, another reviewer points out potential issues with the terrain, describing gravel, potholes, narrow access, and muddy conditions, as well as "undeveloped sites."
Considering these points, if you are looking for a campground where the owners are reported to be very nice and you appreciate a potentially beautiful setting, Archway Campground might be worth considering. However, it would be prudent to be prepared for potentially rustic site conditions, including gravel, uneven ground, and the possibility of mud. Depending on your camping style and the type of equipment you have, these conditions may or may not be a significant concern.
To get a clearer understanding of the current conditions, available amenities, and pricing, it would be advisable to contact Archway Campground directly at (937) 533-4663 or +1 937-533-4663. You could inquire about the types of campsites they offer, the amenities available, and the current ground conditions. Speaking with the owners directly might also provide a better sense of the overall experience and help you determine if Archway Campground meets your needs for a local camping trip.
In conclusion, Archway Campground near New Paris, OH, is portrayed as having very polite owners and a potentially beautiful location. However, one review indicates that the campsites might be somewhat undeveloped with gravel, potholes, and potential mud. Local users looking for "camping near me" should weigh the positive comments about the owners against the noted site conditions and consider contacting the campground directly for more information before making a decision.

the owners seem very nice and very polite other they didn't have room for us at the time he was trying to make space for us but it was a beautiful place to go highly recommended and good for the price and the people there are blessed

Apr 04, 2025 · Joyce AndreTerrible!!! I've been camping for over 50 years and I've never seen a place this dumpy. The place looked to me like it was abandoned 20 years ago. Filthy dirty bathrooms, partly flooded, ceiling tiles hanging down, grass over 6'' tall at my campsite and to add insult to injury the guy who took my money told me my camp looked stupid and that he didn't like it. We stayed 1 night and left after the eclipse on the 8th. I asked for a refund and the woman I spoke to laughed at me.
Apr 24, 2024 · TIM MASTENI had my tent all set up after a day of riding 80 miles. I asked the owner on the phone if he was on site to make change for a $20. He completely blew up, told me he's never had a problem in 18 years, and that I can leave. Um ok, no problem. Don't waste your time with this renegade cowboy owner. This happened 7/7/23. Let that miserable owner alone all these reviews aren't just made up. Plenty of hotels down the road.I'll say I did stay a few years prior with no issues, but I also had no contact with the owner that time.
Jun 26, 2024 · Craig MartinSite is remote (albeit it 1/4 mile from I-70) quaint, quiet, relaxed, peaceful little place. Gracious host - Wanda. GREAT for an overnight, a SINGLE overnight. No waste line hookup. No Wi-Fi.Decent water and power. Public restrooms and shower house are utterly pathetic. In the 5 days I was there no one emptied the trash in either. I would not have set foot into any of their public showers; nasty, dirty, moldy, and the toilets not much better. Very convenient to the town (Richmond) that has everything you could want. The Archway is for sale. With $100K someone could really make that place worth having. Lastly, there are full time long term residents there. About a dozen I'd guess. Very nice folk. Would I stay there again . . . .absolutely not.
