Arkwright Hills Campground Introduce
Are you searching for "camping near me" in the vicinity of Fredonia, NY? Arkwright Hills Campground, located at 2942 NY-83, Fredonia, NY 14063, offers a camping experience that, according to recent reviews, has both its appealing aspects and some areas that potential local users should consider. Let's delve into what this campground might offer based on the available feedback.
The environment of Arkwright Hills Campground, situated near Fredonia, NY, appears to have some natural attractions, including a pond that one reviewer mentioned enjoying. The overall setting is likely rural, given its location on NY-83. While specific details about the landscape aren't extensively described, the presence of a pond suggests potential for water-related activities or scenic views. However, one reviewer noted "lots of flies everywhere," which could impact the enjoyment of the outdoor environment at certain times. Another mentioned that the campground is "mostly full time sites," which might influence the overall atmosphere for short-term campers. Despite this, another visitor reported having an "amazing time last summer," indicating that the environment has its positive aspects, particularly the pond. For local users seeking "camping near me" with a natural element like a pond, Arkwright Hills Campground might be of interest, but they should be prepared for potential issues with flies.
Based on the customer reviews, the services at Arkwright Hills Campground include:
- Camp hosts: Multiple reviewers noted that the camp hosts were "super nice" and the people in general were "friendly." This suggests a welcoming and community-oriented atmosphere.
- Wi-Fi: The campground offers Wi-Fi, but it was described as "weak." There was a mention of a pavilion where the signal was supposed to be stronger, but one reviewer couldn't find it.
- Dump station: A dump station is available, though one reviewer commented that it was "not in a good spot."
- Bathrooms/Showers: While not explicitly mentioned, campgrounds typically provide these facilities. Their condition and accessibility are not detailed in the provided reviews.
- No trash service: One significant drawback mentioned was the lack of trash service.
The prevalence of "mostly full time sites" suggests that the campground might cater significantly to long-term or seasonal residents, which could affect the availability and nature of services for short-term campers looking for "camping near me." The good rates mentioned by one reviewer might be a benefit for those considering a longer stay or if the daily rates are also competitive.
The features of Arkwright Hills Campground include the friendly people, the presence of a pond, and potentially affordable rates due to the number of full-time sites. However, there are also negative features to consider, such as the lack of trash service, the inconveniently located dump station, the abundance of flies, and the weak Wi-Fi signal. The road leading into the campground was also described as "bad." Despite these drawbacks, the positive experience of one visitor who had an "amazing time" and the friendliness of the hosts and owners are notable features that might appeal to some local users seeking "camping near me." The pond is another potential feature that could attract those looking for a natural water element at their campsite.
Regarding promotional information for local users seeking "camping near me," it's important to present a balanced view based on the reviews. The friendly people and the pond are definite positives that could be highlighted. For those prioritizing a welcoming atmosphere and a natural water feature, Arkwright Hills Campground might be a good fit. The potentially good rates, possibly due to the number of full-time residents, could also be attractive to budget-conscious campers. However, any promotional message should also acknowledge the reported issues with the lack of trash service, the flies, and the weak Wi-Fi. Local users should be prepared for these conditions. To get more information about the campground, including specific amenities, rates, and the current status of the reported issues, contacting them directly at (716) 679-7532 or +1 716-679-7532 would be advisable. Potential local campers might want to inquire about trash disposal procedures, the severity of the fly problem during their intended stay, and the actual Wi-Fi availability at campsites versus a potentially non-existent pavilion.
In conclusion, Arkwright Hills Campground near Fredonia, NY, offers a mixed bag for those looking for "camping near me." The friendly community and the presence of a pond are positive aspects mentioned by reviewers. However, potential campers should be aware of reported issues such as no trash service, a poorly located dump station, a significant number of flies, and weak Wi-Fi. The road leading to the campground was also noted as being in poor condition. While one visitor had an "amazing time," it's crucial for local users to weigh these pros and cons based on their priorities for a camping experience. Contacting the campground directly for the most current information and to address any concerns would be a wise step before making a decision.

Arkwright Hills Campground Reviews
No trash service, dump station was not in a good spot, lots of flies everywhere. Camp hosts were super nice. Wi-Fi was weak and the signal was supposed to be stronger at a pavilion, but we couldn't find any pavilion. Owners are nice and the place is mostly full time sites, so the rates are good. Road in was bad though and the flies were ridiculous!
