The campground is situated in a picturesque area, offering a tranquil escape from the everyday. The presence of the Arroyo Seco River adds to the charm, providing a refreshing element to the landscape and a focal point for recreation. The day-use area, in particular, is located right by the water, creating a delightful space for relaxation and family fun. Imagine enjoying a picnic with the soothing sounds of the river as your backdrop.
In terms of services, Arroyo Seco Campground prioritizes cleanliness and basic comfort. Reviews from campers consistently praise the cleanliness of the facilities. While the showers are described as basic, they are also noted to be warm and spacious, providing a welcome amenity after a day of outdoor activities. It's important to note that the campground offers tent sites and small trailer sites but does not provide water or electric hookups. Therefore, campers planning to bring trailers or require these utilities should be aware of this limitation and come prepared. For those relying on electricity, bringing solar power solutions is recommended. Similarly, campers need to bring their own water supply for drinking and other needs.
The features of Arroyo Seco Campground cater to a variety of camping preferences. The availability of both tent sites and small trailer sites allows for flexibility in accommodation. Each campsite provides a base for exploring the surrounding natural beauty. The day-use area is a significant feature, especially appealing to families with children. It offers barbecues and picnic tables conveniently located by the water, making it an ideal spot for a day outing even for those not planning to camp overnight. This area provides a perfect setting for grilling meals, enjoying outdoor dining, and letting kids play in a safe and scenic environment.
For those looking to explore beyond the campground, Arroyo Seco's location is a major draw. Its proximity to Pinnacles National Park, described as being within day-trip distance, opens up a world of hiking and exploration opportunities. Pinnacles is known for its unique rock formations, talus caves, and diverse wildlife, making it a must-visit for nature lovers and adventure seekers. While one reviewer mentioned a discrepancy in the estimated hiking distance to certain attractions, the allure of nearby trails and the potential for discovering hidden gems like the "cliff jumps" remains a significant advantage of staying at Arroyo Seco.
However, potential visitors should be aware of a crucial tip regarding insects. One reviewer strongly advises bringing bug spray, especially if you plan to hike. While the day-use area might be relatively bug-free, venturing out on the trails may expose you to insects. Being prepared with insect repellent will ensure a more comfortable and enjoyable hiking experience.

The warm showers, despite being basic, are a welcome amenity that enhances the overall camping experience. The clean environment contributes to a positive and relaxing atmosphere. The lack of water and electric hookups encourages a more self-sufficient camping style, which can be part of the adventure for many. Arroyo Seco Campground Reviews
This place is absolutely stunning, and well within day-trip distance to pinnacles. The showers are basic, but warm and spacious. They have tent sites, small trailer sites, but no water or electric hookups. Bring your solar, your water, and your quarters and get ready for an awesome camping trip.
Mar 25, 2025 · Vito SkidmoreSuper nice and clean place. The day use area is great for kids. However you probably want to get there a bit on the early side. To hike the ranger said it was a half of a mile but it was probably around 4. We never actually made it to the cliff jumps because we had a 7 year old but another hicker said we were about 5 minutes away. The day use area has barbecues and picnic table right by the water. YOU NEED BUG SPRAY there are no bugs by the day use but if you plan to hike you need bug spray. Overall it was a great time but it was a bummer not being able to do the cliff jumps.
Jun 03, 2020 · Kaylesia FI was in site#2. Close enough but far enough to the bathrooms. Flush toilets & showers. Cleanest bathrooms I’ve ever experienced camping!! Beautiful well managed campground!! Ranger patrol regularly!!! I’ll definite back! Quiet hrs are respected or at least they were while I was there. I was there 1/17-1/19/25.
Jan 29, 2025 · Tamara KozerskiAmazing spot for camping, both the modern and primitive sites! Currently open fires permitted on both, potable water at primitive sites only. The staff is absolutely incredible and come around with firewood and water. No reception within 20 min, McDonald's and Starbucks 30 min. The water is perfect for swimming and lots of space!
