May 15, 2024 · Chris GordonBear Lake campground is an unimproved campground in the Oak Creek Wildlife Area/Bethel Ridge. It is closed during the winter as the area is used for elk habitat. There are no facilities, and it is a long drive on gravel roads to reach the campground, but this means it is secluded and not crowded. There are no designated campsites, and no fees. Be sure to check on fire bans as this area is relatively dry in the summer and there is a lot of fuel in the area from previous logging activity.
