As a featured option in the 'camping near me' category, Hause Creek Campground boasts a picturesque environment that many visitors have come to appreciate. Situated alongside the Tieton River, the campground offers a serene backdrop for your outdoor adventure. While the river's current is noted to be quite fast, making it less suitable for swimming, some areas may allow for a refreshing dip of your feet during the warmer months. Imagine relaxing by the riverbank, listening to the soothing sounds of the flowing water – a perfect way to unwind and escape the hustle and bustle of daily life.
The campground is divided into two main areas: an upper loop and a lower loop. The lower loop enjoys a prime location right on the banks of the Tieton River, offering easy access to the water's edge. The upper loop, while situated closer to US-12, is reported to not suffer significantly from highway noise, ensuring a relatively peaceful camping experience. Regardless of which loop you choose, you'll find yourself immersed in the natural beauty of the area.
One of the frequently highlighted aspects of Hause Creek Campground is the spaciousness of its campsites. Reviewers have specifically mentioned sites like #22 and #38 as being quite large, providing ample room for your tents, gear, and even activities. This extra space allows families to spread out comfortably and enjoy their time without feeling cramped. If you enjoy having room to move around and set up your camp just the way you like it, Hause Creek's generous site sizes will likely appeal to you.
The friendly and helpful nature of the camp hosts is another recurring positive point in visitor feedback. Guests have consistently praised the hosts for their willingness to assist with questions and ensure a pleasant stay. Knowing that there are friendly faces on-site to help can significantly enhance your camping experience, providing a sense of security and support during your time outdoors.
While some facilities were noted to be closed during certain times, the campground maintains cleanliness and appears to be well-maintained overall. Portable restrooms (port-a-potties) were available, addressing essential needs even when other facilities were not operational. It's worth noting that running water may not always be available, so it's advisable to come prepared with your own water supply.
For families with children, Hause Creek Campground offers opportunities for enjoyable activities. One reviewer mentioned their children having a great time riding their bikes around the park. The open spaces and potentially some gentle trails within the campground could be ideal for kids to explore and burn off some energy. While swimming in the main part of the river might not be suitable for young children due to the fast current, the possibility of finding shallow spots for wading during hotter periods adds to the appeal for families.
Considering a weekend getaway or a longer camping trip? Hause Creek Campground, being conveniently located for local users, presents an excellent option. Its proximity means less travel time and more time to enjoy the natural surroundings. Whether you're looking to relax by the river, enjoy the spacious campsites, or explore the area, Hause Creek offers a solid base for your outdoor adventures.
While one reviewer mentioned a discrepancy between the map on recreation.gov and the actual location of their campsite, they were still ultimately pleased with their stay. It's always a good idea to double-check site details upon arrival, but this feedback suggests that even with minor navigational hiccups, the overall experience at Hause Creek Campground is positive.

Hause Creek Campground Reviews
My family and I camped at Hause Creek over the weekend and we had a blast. We stayed in site 22. Very spacious and we were close to the water. Definitely a little too fast for the kids to swim and obviously too cold right now,, but if you walk up and down you may be able to find a little spot where they can dip their feet during the hotter months. The kids took their bikes and had a lot of fun riding those around the park. Camp host were really friendly as well! Definitely recommend!
May 02, 2021 · Sara DiazI camped at site #38. I was a little disappointed that the map on recreation.gov showed its location somewhere else, nevertheless the sites are quite large. There are two general areas - the bottom loop and the upper loop. The upper loop is next to US12, the lower loop is right on the Tieton river. The river is pretty fast moving so not a place to go swimming. The highway isn't too busy and didn't keep us up at night. The campground generally was clean and looked well maintained. The facilities were still closed but there were port-a-potties everywhere. No running water just as advertised.Despite the misinformed location of my campsite I was very pleased with my stay. The camp host was very friendly and was willing and able to answer any questions I had.

Jun 28, 2024 · Nate KSpot #40. Went during the week, early June and had the whole upper loop to ourselves. Camp host was very friendly. Nice sloping meadow and trail to river and creek behind. Some noise from roadway but mostly covered by the sound of the river. Great place to take dogs.
Jun 13, 2017 · Stephanie McGeePark is clean and basic, no water no power. We were camped in the family site for 8+ people with plenty of room. LOCK UP YO STUFF! Our generator was stolen from our campsite between 11pm and 6am. They dragged it right out of camp into the side of the highway.
