We stayed here overnight twice in August 2019 and are hoping for a spot again in fall when the salmon are running. We are simple people and the campground suited all our needs. Electric hook ups and huge clean bathrooms with showers! The creek was a beautiful site to wake up to. Selkirk park close by, a short drive to salmon river huge sites across from the creek. Had a great relaxing time walking, sitting around the fire and looking at the stars. Tried a little fishing but no luck (we love fishing but don’t catch much) nice place to spend quite time together as a family with no distractions. We will be back. Hubby is calling today to see if we can get a site this weekend for a quick get away 😍🎣⛺️🚐 - Kelly Sullivan

Based on the positive feedback from visitors, this campground provides a relaxing environment with convenient amenities, particularly appealing to those interested in fishing and enjoying the natural beauty of the Pulaski area.

One of the standout features of Bears Sleepy Hollow Campground, as highlighted by multiple reviewers, is its picturesque location along a creek. Waking up to the sight and sound of the creek is described as a beautiful experience, adding a touch of tranquility to the camping atmosphere. The creek itself is also a significant draw for fishing enthusiasts. While one reviewer humorously noted their lack of catching success despite their love for fishing, they still appreciated the opportunity and the proximity to the water. Another reviewer explicitly recommended the creek for those who enjoy fishing, indicating it's a popular activity among campers.

Beyond the natural beauty of the creek, Bears Sleepy Hollow Campground offers practical amenities that contribute to a comfortable stay. Cleanliness is a key aspect mentioned, with one reviewer specifically praising the "huge clean bathrooms with showers!" This is a significant factor for many campers, and the positive feedback suggests that the campground prioritizes maintaining clean and well-equipped facilities.

For those traveling with RVs, electric hookups are available, providing essential power for appliances and comfort. The reviews also mention "huge sites across from the creek," suggesting that the campground offers spacious camping areas, particularly in the vicinity of the creek. This is beneficial for accommodating larger vehicles and providing campers with ample space to set up and enjoy their surroundings.

The location of Bears Sleepy Hollow Campground is also noteworthy. It is situated near Selkirk Shores State Park, offering opportunities for additional outdoor activities and exploration. Furthermore, it is a short drive from the renowned Salmon River, a major attraction, especially during the salmon run in the fall. This proximity makes the campground an ideal base for those looking to experience the excellent fishing opportunities the Salmon River is known for. The campground's location also provides easy access to Lake Ontario, expanding the range of potential activities and attractions for visitors.

The overall atmosphere of Bears Sleepy Hollow Campground is described as "simple" and "relaxing." One reviewer mentioned having a great time walking, sitting around the fire, and stargazing, emphasizing the peaceful and distraction-free environment. This makes it an appealing destination for families and individuals looking to unwind and reconnect with nature. The friendly atmosphere is also highlighted, with one reviewer noting that "people are very friendly" and that there is a sense of community and care for the safety of children within the campground.

Convenience is another aspect of Bears Sleepy Hollow Campground's appeal. The reviews mention that there are "many places to eat by the campground," suggesting that campers have easy access to dining options outside of cooking at their campsite. This can be a significant advantage for those who prefer not to cook all their meals while camping.

It is important to note a specific caution mentioned in one of the reviews: avoiding camping by the creek when Lake Ontario is flooding. This indicates that the creek levels can be affected by the lake's water levels, potentially leading to flooding in the immediate creek-side camping areas. Local users should be aware of this potential issue and consider it when choosing their campsite, especially during periods of high lake water levels. However, the reviewer still affirmed that "the campground is great tho," indicating that this is a localized concern rather than a general reflection on the campground's quality.

For local users seeking a "camping near me" experience that combines natural beauty with convenient amenities, Bears Sleepy Hollow Campground offers a compelling option. Its location along a picturesque creek, proximity to the Salmon River and Lake Ontario, clean facilities, and friendly atmosphere make it an attractive choice for families, fishing enthusiasts, and anyone looking for a relaxing getaway in the Pulaski, NY area. The availability of electric hookups and spacious sites caters to RV campers, while the creek and surrounding natural areas appeal to those who enjoy tent camping and outdoor activities.
