Blackhawk Campground Introduce
Looking for an exceptional "camping near me" experience that caters to the whole family and offers a wide array of outdoor activities? Blackhawk Campground, located on an Unnamed Road in De Soto, WI 54624, USA, might just be the perfect destination for you. With phone numbers (608) 648-3314 and +1 608-648-3314, connecting with them to plan your next adventure is convenient.
Blackhawk Campground has clearly left a lasting positive impression on its visitors. One long-time camper shares, "Our family loves this campground. Been going here since I was a kid and now take mine." This speaks volumes about the campground's enduring appeal and its ability to create cherished memories across generations. The reviewer highlights the "plenty of space" and numerous "campsites," suggesting that finding the perfect spot for your tent or RV is usually not an issue. The mention of a "quiet" atmosphere adds to the allure for those seeking a peaceful retreat in nature.
The environment of Blackhawk Campground is a significant draw, characterized by "beautiful scenery." Located in De Soto, Wisconsin, the campground likely benefits from the natural beauty of the region, potentially including views of the Mississippi River or surrounding bluffs. The availability of "shade trees" on the campsites is a practical and appreciated feature, offering comfort during warmer days. For those who enjoy outdoor cooking, "grilling areas" are provided, enhancing the camping experience. Families with children will appreciate the inclusion of "playgrounds," ensuring that younger campers have dedicated spaces for fun and activity.
In terms of services and features, Blackhawk Campground seems well-equipped to cater to various camping needs. "Picnic tables" at the campsites provide a convenient space for meals and gatherings. Clean "restrooms" are a fundamental amenity, and their positive mention in a review ("Restrooms are clean") indicates good maintenance. A standout feature, particularly for families, is the "beach area for kids to swim," offering a safe and enjoyable way to cool off during the summer months. The thoughtful provision of "life jackets for swimmers right at the beach for convenience and your safety" underscores the campground's commitment to guest well-being.
For those who enjoy aquatic activities, Blackhawk Campground boasts "so many areas to fish and boat." This suggests access to water bodies suitable for these pastimes, likely the Mississippi River or connected backwaters. The review from a visitor with a 40' 5th wheel noted the easy maneuverability and levelness of the "large lots" in the West loop, which had electric hookups. They also mentioned the availability of a dump station and potable water within the park, essential for RV campers. This indicates that Blackhawk Campground caters to both tent and RV campers.
The pet-friendly policy is another significant advantage for many travelers, allowing you to bring your furry companions along on your camping adventure. Additionally, a "foodstand" was mentioned as being available during at least one visit, offering a convenient option for snacks or meals without having to leave the campground. This amenity can be particularly helpful for families or those who prefer not to cook all their meals at the campsite.
While one review from June 2024 noted that the "water is a little high at the moment," they still affirmed that the campground was "still worth the visit!" This suggests that even with temporary environmental conditions, the overall appeal of Blackhawk Campground remains strong. Another visitor who enjoyed their first visit mentioned that the "water is very low right now" but highlighted the potential for "great canoeing from the nearby launch" in the "side lakes and channels" when water levels are suitable. This indicates the dynamic nature of the waterways and the variety of water-based activities available depending on the season and water levels.
It's important to note that the visitor who stayed in the West loop mentioned "only electric" hookups at their site, but that a dump station and potable water were available within the park. This suggests that while some loops might offer full hookups (water, sewer, and electric), others, like the West loop in their experience, might be limited to electric only. When booking your campsite, it would be wise to inquire about the specific hookups available at each site to ensure it meets your needs.

If you are looking for beautiful scenery and space this campground is it!Water is a little high at the moment (June 2024) in pictures but still worth the visit!
Jun 14, 2024 · Katrinna WorthyWe loved our first visit to this park. Very well maintained and clean. Large lots, level and easy to maneuver 40' 5th wheel. Lovely biking and walking through this park. Water is very low right now but all the side lakes and channels would be great canoeing from the nearby launch. Note: only electric at the West loop we stayed in but a dump and potable available in the park. We will be visiting again!
