Wexford Valley Campground Introduce
Are you searching for a picturesque "camping near me" experience in the Lansing, Iowa area? Look no further than Wexford Valley Campground, located at 2459-2489 Wexford Hollow Dr, Lansing, IA 52151, USA. You can reach them at (563) 586-2005 or their mobile number, +1 563-586-2005. Based on feedback from fellow campers, Wexford Valley Campground offers a beautiful setting and a welcoming atmosphere, making it a potentially ideal spot for a local getaway.
The campground is situated in a "beautiful valley," suggesting a scenic environment characterized by natural beauty and potentially rolling landscapes. This idyllic setting provides a tranquil backdrop for a relaxing camping experience, allowing local users to escape the everyday and immerse themselves in nature. The mention of a "beautiful church" being located next to the campground adds to the charm and visual appeal of the area, potentially offering a unique landmark and a sense of place.
One of the standout features of Wexford Valley Campground, according to a recurring visitor, is the owner, Jim. He is described as "one of the most accommodating and nicest people we have ever met!!" This personal touch and dedication to guest satisfaction can significantly enhance the camping experience, making visitors feel welcome and well-cared for. The fact that this camper has returned twice and plans future visits speaks volumes about the positive impression left by the owner and the campground itself.
For those interested in angling, Wexford Valley Campground features a creek running alongside it. However, one camper noted that the creek might be "either over fished or under stocked," leaning towards the latter. While this suggests that fishing might not be the primary draw of the campground, the presence of a water feature can still add to the ambiance and provide opportunities for leisurely streamside walks or simply enjoying the sound of flowing water.
In terms of amenities, Wexford Valley Campground offers a shower house, which is a significant convenience for campers looking to freshen up during their stay. However, it's important to note that the restrooms at the campground are described as having "no plumbing." Despite this, the reviewer assures that they "are pumped before they stink and maintained well." This indicates that while the restroom facilities might be non-traditional, efforts are made to keep them clean and sanitary, addressing a common concern for campers using such facilities.
The combination of a beautiful valley environment, the proximity to a picturesque church, and the exceptional hospitality of the owner, Jim, creates a welcoming and potentially memorable experience for campers. While the fishing in the creek might be a bit hit-or-miss, the other positive aspects of the campground seem to outweigh this concern for many visitors. The availability of a shower house and the well-maintained non-plumbing restrooms provide essential facilities for a comfortable stay.
For local users browsing the "camping near me" category, Wexford Valley Campground in Lansing, IA, presents an appealing option for those seeking a scenic and hospitable camping destination. The positive feedback regarding the owner and the beautiful setting suggests a welcoming atmosphere and a chance to connect with nature in a charming environment. The presence of basic but functional amenities like a shower house and maintained restrooms adds to the practicality of choosing this campground for a local getaway.

Beautiful spot to nestle down for the night or a week. The owner, Jim, is one of the most accommodating and nicest people we have ever met!! We have been back twice and plan on visiting again, in the future.
Jul 06, 2021 · Kathy VoskuilGood camp ground sits next to a beautiful church in a beautiful valley. Only complaint is the creek is either over fished or under stocked i am going with under stocked. Has a shower house but restrooms have no plumbing but are pumped before they stink and maintained well.
