Beautiful campground next to an amazing lake.We were able to fit our 34ft* motorhome with towing trailer in site 9. A couple others could also fit but we liked his one. There was a tiny trail that led to the creek from our site which was so nice.Cherokee forest was overall very magical!---Only thing that made it a little off was a strange camp host. He didn't do anything wrong per say besides have his dog off leash, which is against rules, and the dog took off several times without him so I didn't feel safe to have my kid walking near them. He also was a little standoffish so just was a little uncomfortable. I'm sure they change hosts often but just something to note.***Edited my post to fix, I initially put 43 ft, then 23 ft on accident but it's actually 34 ft, lol. - Violet Koncz

The most prominent feature of Cable Cove Campground, as highlighted by multiple reviewers, is its stunning location "next to an amazing lake" – Fontana Lake. Imagine waking up to the serene views of the expansive lake, with opportunities for swimming, boating, and fishing just steps away from your campsite. The campground's proximity to the water offers a unique and highly desirable camping experience, especially during the warmer months.

Spacious Campsites Accommodating Larger RVs

For those who prefer the comfort and convenience of RV or motorhome camping, Cable Cove Campground appears to offer suitable accommodations. One reviewer specifically mentioned, "We were able to fit our 34ft* motorhome with towing trailer in site 9. A couple others could also fit but we liked his one." This is valuable information for local RV owners, indicating that at least some campsites are spacious enough to handle larger rigs, including those with trailers. The reviewer's preference for site 9 suggests it might offer particularly good space or other desirable features. It's advisable for RV owners to inquire about specific site dimensions and suitability when making reservations.

  • Fire Rings or Grills: Allowing for campfires and cooking.
  • Restroom Facilities: Likely including vault toilets, and possibly flush toilets and showers, although the latter is less common in more rustic national forest campgrounds. Local users should inquire about the availability of showers if this is a priority.

He also was a little standoffish so just was a little uncomfortable."

This suggests that experiences with camp hosts can vary over time. It's possible that current or future camp hosts may provide a different experience.
