Camp Barbe Introduce
For local users in the Elizabeth, West Virginia area who are searching within the "camping near me" category and perhaps also looking for a venue that hosts local events, Camp Barbe, located at 1848 Co Rte 4/4, Elizabeth, WV 26143, USA, presents a multifaceted location. While a direct phone number is not provided in the current information, reviews offer some insights into its environment, facilities, and potential uses beyond just traditional camping.
The environment of Camp Barbe is described as a "nice big area," suggesting a spacious location with ample room for various activities. One of its notable features is the "lots of parking" available, specifically mentioned in the context of a fair. This indicates that Camp Barbe likely serves as a significant parking area during local events, implying a large, potentially open space capable of accommodating a considerable number of vehicles. For local users attending events in the area, Camp Barbe could be a key landmark or access point.
In terms of services and features, the limited reviews provide a mixed picture. The bathrooms are noted to be big but "not stocked very well." This suggests the presence of restroom facilities capable of handling a large number of people, likely due to the events held there, but potential users might need to be prepared with their own supplies. The mention of a stage area that "needs to be redone" due to cracked concrete and its small size, along with a small area behind the stage, indicates that Camp Barbe serves as a venue for performances or presentations. Local users interested in attending or participating in such events should be aware of these limitations.
A significant feature highlighted in one review is the "great" fireworks display. This suggests that Camp Barbe is a location for community celebrations that include fireworks, which could be a major attraction for local families and individuals looking for entertainment during specific times of the year. The positive mention of fireworks enhances its appeal as a local event venue within the "camping near me" context, as such events often draw campers and visitors to the area.
One enthusiastic reviewer states that Camp Barbe is "set up for adventure and fun!" and encourages everyone to venture out there, promising to post pictures soon. This suggests that beyond being a parking area and event venue, Camp Barbe might also offer opportunities for recreational activities or a generally enjoyable outdoor experience. The term "adventure" is broad but could imply hiking trails, open spaces for games, or other features that encourage outdoor engagement for local users seeking "camping near me" with an element of active recreation.
However, without more specific details, it is challenging to definitively categorize Camp Barbe as a traditional campground with dedicated campsites and typical camping amenities. The focus of the reviews seems to be more on its role as an event venue and parking area. Local users specifically looking for established campgrounds with defined campsites, hookups, and camping-specific facilities might need to seek further information or consider alternative options in the "camping near me" category.
The lack of information about specific camping services, such as the availability of tent sites, RV hookups, restroom and shower facilities for campers (as opposed to event attendees), fire pits, picnic tables, or water sources, indicates that these might be either limited or not the primary focus of Camp Barbe. Local users interested in camping here should inquire directly with the organizers or look for additional information online to understand the extent to which traditional camping is accommodated.
Similarly, there is no promotional information available in the provided reviews. Local users interested in learning about event schedules, admission fees (if any), or potential camping rates would need to find official information sources for Camp Barbe, such as a website or local community bulletin boards. Given its role as a potential fairground or event space, promotions might be tied to specific events rather than general camping.
In summary, Camp Barbe in Elizabeth, WV, appears to be a large area primarily known for hosting local events, including fairs with ample parking and fireworks displays. It also features a stage area, although this is noted to be in need of repair and is small. The presence of large bathrooms suggests facilities to support events, but their stocking level may be inconsistent. One reviewer hints at a setup for "adventure and fun," suggesting potential recreational opportunities beyond events. However, information regarding traditional camping amenities is scarce. Local users searching for "camping near me" should investigate further to determine if Camp Barbe offers dedicated camping facilities or if its primary use is as an event venue that might occasionally accommodate campers, especially during events.
For local residents of Elizabeth and the surrounding areas, Camp Barbe is likely a familiar landmark associated with community events and gatherings. While its capacity for traditional camping is unclear based on the provided information, its role as a venue for fairs, fireworks, and potentially other "adventure and fun" activities makes it a place worth knowing about within the local context. Those interested in camping should seek specific details about camping provisions, while those looking for event parking or local entertainment will find Camp Barbe to be a significant location.

Camp Barbe Reviews
Lots of parking for the fair. Bathrooms are big but not stocked very well. Nice big area. The fireworks are great. The stage area needs to be redone. The concrete is cracked and people always trip over it. Behind the stage is very small and so is the stage.
