I do not recommend this “campground” they have 40 plus chickens that get in your things and poop all over your stuff. The owners do nothing about it. We stayed here for about 2 months and paid the most for the smallest lot. The owners tried to sue another couple here in the campground bc they didn’t like them. The owners walk around with their guns pointed at people’s camp site. They have no amenities, no walking trails no bathhouse no dog run, nothing! Save your money and sanity do not stay here!! - Brittany Marks

Camp Rumslinger Introduce

Are you searching for the perfect camping getaway near you in North Carolina? Look no further than Camp Rumslinger, nestled at 141 Clonch Dr, Ferguson, NC 28624, USA. While online platforms categorized as "camping near me" aim to connect local users with nearby outdoor experiences, it's essential to delve into the specifics of each location to ensure it aligns with your camping preferences and needs. Camp Rumslinger presents a unique scenario, as reflected in the diverse experiences shared by its visitors.

Based on feedback from individuals who have stayed at Camp Rumslinger, the environment offers both appealing and potentially challenging aspects. One reviewer highlighted the "beautiful scenery" and a "large area for dogs to run along the creek," suggesting a picturesque natural setting that could be particularly attractive to pet owners and those who appreciate outdoor tranquility. The proximity to essential services, with grocery stores just a 20-minute drive away, adds a layer of convenience for longer stays or those needing to resupply.

However, another review paints a contrasting picture, raising concerns about the presence of a significant number of free-ranging chickens (over 40) that reportedly interfere with campers' belongings and leave droppings. This individual also mentioned a lack of amenities such as walking trails, a bathhouse, or a designated dog run, which are often considered standard offerings at established campgrounds. The review further described a negative interaction with the owners, including allegations of unusual behavior and legal disputes with other campers, ultimately advising against staying at Camp Rumslinger.

In contrast, a different camper thoroughly enjoyed their month-long stay, emphasizing the "excellent internet connection," which is a significant advantage for those needing to work remotely while camping. They also appreciated the trash pickup service, the reasonable pricing, and the opportunity to purchase fresh eggs directly at the campground. This reviewer found the campsites clean and commended the accommodating nature of the management, expressing a desire to return.

Considering these varying perspectives, Camp Rumslinger appears to be a location with a somewhat unconventional camping experience. The presence of free-roaming chickens is a distinctive feature that could be either charming or problematic depending on individual preferences and tolerance for potential interactions with poultry. The availability of fresh eggs is undoubtedly a unique perk for those who value farm-fresh produce.

For local users exploring "camping near me," it's crucial to weigh the potential benefits against the reported drawbacks. If you prioritize natural beauty, space for pets to roam freely (though not in a designated area), and the convenience of internet access, Camp Rumslinger might hold some appeal, especially given the positive experience of one long-term visitor. The reasonable pricing mentioned could also be a significant factor for budget-conscious travelers.

However, the concerns raised about the lack of standard amenities like bathhouses and designated recreational areas, coupled with the negative experiences involving the chickens and alleged owner behavior, should not be overlooked. Campers accustomed to more traditional campground setups with comprehensive facilities might find Camp Rumslinger lacking. The potential for interactions with a large flock of chickens and the associated cleanliness issues could also be a significant deterrent for some.

Promotional information is limited based on the provided reviews. However, the positive review highlights the "reasonable price" and the availability of "fresh eggs" as potential selling points. For local users searching within the "camping near me" category, these aspects, along with the reported beautiful scenery and internet connectivity, could be considered promotional elements, albeit ones that come with the context of the mixed reviews.

In conclusion, Camp Rumslinger offers a camping experience that deviates from the norm. While it boasts appealing natural surroundings and certain conveniences like internet access and proximity to grocery stores, potential visitors should be aware of the reported lack of standard amenities and the unique situation involving a large number of free-ranging chickens. The contrasting reviews underscore the importance of individual preferences and priorities when choosing a campground. Local users considering Camp Rumslinger through a "camping near me" search should carefully weigh the potential benefits against the reported drawbacks to determine if this unconventional camping destination aligns with their expectations for an outdoor getaway.
