Canyon RV Introduce
Looking for "camping near me" in Montana that offers a peaceful overnight stop with beautiful scenery? Consider Canyon RV, located in Cascade County, MT 59421, USA. While the provided information doesn't include a phone number, this small RV park has garnered positive reviews, particularly from those passing through or looking to take advantage of the local fishing opportunities. If you're searching for a convenient and scenic spot within the "camping near me" category, Canyon RV might be a delightful discovery.
One reviewer described Canyon RV as a "hidden gem for overnighters," despite its proximity to the interstate. This suggests that while easily accessible, it retains a sense of peacefulness that many travelers appreciate. The park offers full hook-up sites, which, according to the review, are often occupied by fishermen enjoying longer stays due to the Fishing Access Site located just up the road. This highlights a key feature of Canyon RV: its prime location for fishing enthusiasts.
Even when the full hook-up sites are taken, Canyon RV appears to go the extra mile to accommodate visitors. One camper who arrived just before a storm found the park full, but the host, Jay, offered one of three overflow spots. These overflow spots provide water and electric hookups but do not include sewer. Importantly, these were offered at a discounted rate, showcasing the host's willingness to ensure travelers have a place to stay. The reviewer who stayed in "Overflow Spot A" was particularly pleased, emphasizing the "stunning" view from their windows and the convenience of having grass right outside their door for their dog. This pet-friendly aspect, combined with scenic views, adds to the appeal of Canyon RV.
Accessibility to the natural surroundings is another plus. The reviewer noted that it's an "easy and pretty walk down to the river," suggesting that guests can readily enjoy the nearby water access for leisurely strolls or perhaps other river-related activities. Despite its proximity to the interstate, the road noise was described as "pretty minimal," likely because the park sits at a lower elevation than the highway. This is good news for those seeking a quieter camping experience despite being near a major route.
While the review mentions "no cell service at all," a significant amenity that Canyon RV offers is Starlink internet, which reportedly "works very well." In an area with poor cellular connectivity, reliable internet access can be a crucial benefit for travelers needing to stay connected or plan their next leg of the journey. This modern convenience sets Canyon RV apart and caters to the needs of today's campers.
Based on the available information, Canyon RV provides a unique offering within the "camping near me" landscape. It's a smaller park that seems to prioritize hospitality and the natural beauty of its location. The full hook-up sites cater to RVers looking for all the necessary utilities, while the overflow spots provide a more budget-friendly option with water and electric, often accompanied by pleasant views. The easy access to a Fishing Access Site will undoubtedly appeal to anglers, making it a targeted destination for those specifically searching for camping with fishing opportunities nearby.
The positive feedback regarding the host, Jay, suggests a welcoming and accommodating atmosphere. His willingness to offer overflow spots at a reduced rate when the park was full indicates a commitment to customer satisfaction. The combination of scenic views, river access, and the availability of Starlink internet, despite the lack of cell service, paints a picture of a thoughtfully run park catering to different needs.
For local users searching for "camping near me" in Cascade County, MT, Canyon RV presents itself as a potentially excellent choice, especially for overnight stays or for those interested in fishing. While it might be small, its features like full hook-ups (at most sites), scenic overflow spots, easy river access, and Starlink internet provide a comfortable and convenient camping experience. The positive testimonials highlight its value as a "hidden gem."

Canyon RV Reviews
It may seem odd to give 5 stars to a tiny little RV park not far off of the interstate, but this is a hidden gem for overnighters! The full hook up sites are $25/night but from what I can tell they're mostly taken up by fishermen staying longer term to take advantage of the Fishing Access Site right up the road. When we arrived (right before a storm was about to hit) we found the place full, but Jay the host offered us one of 3 overflow spots (water and electric, no sewer) at a discounted rate. We honestly couldn't be happier with Overflow Spot A because the view out our windows is stunning. We also have grass right out our door for our dog. It's an easy and pretty walk down to the river. The road noise is actually pretty minimal - I think because the interstate is much higher up than we are. We would absolutely stay here again! No cell service at all.Starlink works very well.
