Cedar Pond Campground Introduce
For local users in South Carolina and those passing through the Leesville area searching for "camping near me," Cedar Pond Campground, located at 4721 Fairview Rd, Leesville, SC 29070, USA, presents a straightforward and functional option. With contact numbers (803) 657-5993 and +1 803-657-5993, this campground caters primarily to those needing essential RV hookups for short stays or travelers seeking a peaceful environment without extensive amenities. Based on the available reviews, Cedar Pond Campground offers a serene atmosphere and clean sites, managed by an active and involved owner, making it a reliable choice for specific camping needs.
The environment at Cedar Pond Campground is described as "serene," suggesting a quiet and peaceful setting. This could be particularly appealing to local users looking for a break from the hustle and bustle, even if just for an overnight stop. While one review mentions that the campground has "mostly perm sites," indicating a significant number of long-term residents, this doesn't necessarily detract from the experience of short-term visitors. In fact, it can sometimes contribute to a stable and well-maintained environment. The presence of a pond, implied by the name "Cedar Pond Campground," could also add to the natural beauty and tranquility of the location, although this is not explicitly confirmed in the provided reviews. Local campers seeking a quiet and unassuming environment might find Cedar Pond Campground to their liking.
In terms of services, the reviews highlight the essential hookups available at Cedar Pond Campground. For a nightly rate of $35 (as mentioned in one review), campers can access "water, electric and sewer." These are crucial amenities for RV travelers, making it a "perfect stop for traveling through." The availability of these basic utilities ensures a comfortable and convenient overnight stay for those on the road. It's important to note that one reviewer explicitly stated, "There are zero amenities," and "We did not use the bathhouse," indicating that beyond the essential hookups at individual sites, additional facilities are either very limited or non-existent. This "no frills" nature of the campground is a key characteristic that local users should be aware of when considering a stay.
The features of Cedar Pond Campground are best characterized by its simplicity and functionality. The primary feature is the provision of full hookups (water, electric, sewer) at a reasonable price, making it an attractive option for overnight RV stays. The clean condition of the sites is also a notable feature, as mentioned in one review: "Sites are clean." This basic yet important aspect contributes to a positive camping experience. The active involvement of the owner in the day-to-day operations is another feature that can be reassuring for campers, suggesting a level of care and attention to the upkeep of the campground. However, potential local users should understand that this is not a destination campground with recreational facilities or organized activities.
The reviews provide a clear picture of the type of camping experience offered at Cedar Pond Campground. It is explicitly stated that it is "not a place to stay here for a weeks vacation" due to the lack of amenities. Instead, it is positioned as a "perfect stop for traveling through" or a "great for a week of winding down" for those who are self-sufficient and do not require extensive campground facilities. The serenity of the environment is a recurring theme, suggesting a peaceful retreat for those seeking quiet relaxation. For local users who own RVs and need a reliable place with hookups for a night or two, or those who prefer a simple and quiet setting for a longer, self-contained stay, Cedar Pond Campground could be suitable.
There is no specific promotional information available in the provided reviews. However, the implicit value proposition lies in the affordable price ($35 per night as mentioned), the availability of essential full hookups, the clean sites, and the serene environment. For local users seeking a budget-friendly and no-fuss option within the "camping near me" category, Cedar Pond Campground presents a practical choice. To potentially attract more local overnight travelers, the owner could ensure clear signage and online listings that highlight the availability of water, electric, and sewer hookups and the competitive nightly rate. Emphasizing the quiet and clean environment could also appeal to those seeking a peaceful stopover.
It is crucial for local users considering Cedar Pond Campground to understand its limitations in terms of amenities. The absence of a mentioned bathhouse and the explicit statement of "zero amenities" indicate that campers should be fully self-contained, with their own bathroom and recreational facilities. This makes it most suitable for RV owners who are equipped for independent camping. For tent campers or those relying on campground amenities, Cedar Pond Campground may not be the best fit. However, for its target audience of travelers needing hookups and individuals seeking a quiet, basic camping experience, it appears to be a reliable option.
In summary, Cedar Pond Campground in Leesville, SC, offers a no-frills camping experience characterized by its serene environment, clean sites, and the provision of essential water, electric, and sewer hookups. Managed by an active owner, it serves as a practical and affordable overnight stop for RV travelers and a potentially peaceful longer stay for those who are self-sufficient. Local users searching for "camping near me" who prioritize functionality and a quiet setting over extensive amenities may find Cedar Pond Campground a suitable option for their needs, particularly for short stays or as a base for exploring the surrounding area with their own RV facilities.

Cedar Pond Campground Reviews
This campground has mostly perm sites. There are zero amenities. It worked perfect for us to pull over for the night, have water, electric and sewer for $35. Perfect stop for traveling through. I would not stay here for a weeks vacation. We did not use the bathhouse. We just slept and showered in our camper.
Jul 26, 2024 · G RayLove the serenity. Owner is very active and involved in the day to day operations of the park. Sites are clean. Definitely a "no frills" place but great for a week of winding down.
Apr 21, 2025 · Rella WhetzelI'm literally at the campground, we drove through to see what we thought first, it doesn't look bad and there are at least 15 open spots. ( it's November and this is a zero amenities campground) Went to the office and nobody is there, called number and you'd think I interrupted Thanksgiving dinner, Ryde from the get go and told me he didn't have any spots. Only gave 2 stars because it was quiet and clean.
Nov 30, 2024 · Dan HarveyHuge clean campground for you slide-out, gooseneck or RV. Quiet friendly neighbors with tons of open space to satisfy your country-living spirit. Did I mention the huge stocked pond, community bath house, laundry room, and golf carts galore. Fire up the grill, cast a line or two, and get ready to relax.
Feb 18, 2024 · Calvin Harriswe were passing through and decided to camp out in our jeep. we found this little hidden gem and the people here were very nice. it was affordable, we had privacy, could park almost anywhere behind the pond and it was quiet.
