Cherokee Campground Introduce
For local users seeking "camping near me" with beautiful lakeside views and a potentially lively atmosphere, Cherokee Campground, situated at P52, Hulbert, OK 74441, USA, presents an appealing option. Located in Oklahoma, Cherokee Campground appears to be a popular destination for both tent and RV campers, offering scenic vistas and access to a lake with calmer waters on its eastern side. You can reach them at (918) 772-2046 or their mobile number +1 918-772-2046 for inquiries and reservations.
Based on the available customer reviews, Cherokee Campground boasts several attractive features. One reviewer highlights it as their "favorite spot to tent or RV camp," indicating a versatility that caters to different camping preferences. A significant draw is the "really beautiful views to the east," suggesting that campsites oriented towards this direction offer picturesque scenery, likely overlooking the lake. Additionally, the reviewer notes that "the waves are typically much lower on this side of the lake," which could be particularly appealing for families with children or those who prefer calmer waters for swimming or other water activities.
Another positive aspect mentioned is the "lots of walkable shoreline" available, making it an excellent location for leisurely strolls with "your kids or animals." This feature enhances the outdoor experience, providing opportunities for exploration, play, and enjoying the natural surroundings along the lake. For local users prioritizing family-friendly or pet-friendly "camping near me" with easy access to the water's edge, Cherokee Campground seems to be a strong contender.
However, it's important to note that one reviewer describes Cherokee Campground as "definitely the party section of the campgrounds." This suggests that the atmosphere can be lively and potentially noisy, especially during peak seasons or holiday weekends. While this might be appealing to some campers looking for a social and energetic environment, it's crucial information for those seeking a more tranquil and quiet camping experience. Local users should consider their preferred camping style when evaluating Cherokee Campground.
The same reviewer also mentioned a temporary inconvenience with the bathrooms, stating that they were "closed for a short time because of a drainage issue." While this indicates a potential for occasional maintenance challenges, the reviewer also pointed out that "they did have other bathrooms on the same campground so that was good!" This suggests that while temporary disruptions might occur, alternative facilities are available, mitigating the impact on campers. The fact that the reviewer still "thoroughly enjoyed spending the holiday weekend here!" speaks to the overall positive experience despite this temporary issue.
Furthermore, the reviewer commented that the campground is "very well taken care of for a state park." This implies that Cherokee Campground is likely a state-managed facility, which often adheres to certain standards of maintenance and service. A particularly useful amenity highlighted is the "RV dump station," which was described as "extremely useful and well set up." This is a significant convenience for RV campers, making waste disposal easy and efficient. The positive feedback on the RV dump station underscores the campground's consideration for the needs of RV travelers.

Local users searching for "camping near me" who enjoy a potentially lively atmosphere and value amenities like a well-maintained RV dump station should consider this location. In conclusion, Cherokee Campground in Hulbert, Oklahoma, offers a lakeside camping experience with scenic eastern views and a walkable shoreline, making it attractive for families and pet owners. While it's known for a potentially lively atmosphere, it also provides essential amenities like a well-maintained RV dump station and alternative bathroom facilities. Our favorite spots to tent or RV camp. Really beautiful views to the east and the waves are typically much lower on this side of the lake. Additionally, there's lots of walkable shoreline to take your kids or animals.
Oct 26, 2024 · Paul IwanagaDefinitely the party section of the campgrounds. Unfortunately the bathrooms were closed for a short time because of a drainage issue. Though they did have other bathrooms on the same campground so that was good! Very well taken care of for a state park the RV dump station is extremely useful and well set up. Thoroughly enjoyed spending the holiday weekend here!

Apr 25, 2025 · JustinBeautiful views, trails to walk. Nature center with an injured eagle and brown owl that you can see up close and are well taken care of. Be sure to get a.park map. There is a small church and graves that are over 100 years old.
