Clay Targets RV Park Introduce
Searching for "camping near me" that offers a distinctive experience? Consider Clay Targets RV Park, situated at 651 E Manchester Rd, Spring Lake, NC 28390, USA. This unique campground caters primarily to RV travelers and offers a range of essential amenities for a comfortable stay. What sets it apart is its dual function as a shooting range on certain days, providing an interesting backdrop for your camping adventure.
Clay Targets RV Park presents a practical and budget-friendly option for those exploring campgrounds in the Spring Lake area and its surroundings. According to a recent visitor, the nightly rate for a site with water and electric hookups is an affordable $25. While sewage hookups are not available at individual sites, the park does provide a convenient dump station for RVers to manage their waste. This makes it a cost-effective choice for travelers who are self-contained or willing to utilize the communal facilities.
In terms of services and amenities, Clay Targets RV Park ensures a comfortable and convenient stay for its guests. The park features a coin-operated laundry facility equipped with two washers and two dryers, allowing travelers to take care of their laundry needs on-site. For personal hygiene, there are six shower/bathroom units available for campers' use. The presence of recycling bins demonstrates an environmentally conscious approach, encouraging responsible waste disposal. Additionally, the park offers a nice little grilling area complete with a gazebo, providing a pleasant space for outdoor cooking and enjoying meals.
The most distinctive feature of Clay Targets RV Park is its operation as a shooting range from Thursday to Sunday. As highlighted in a guest review, this means that campers can expect to hear gunshots throughout the day during these times. However, it's important to note that the shooting activities typically conclude by 6 pm. While some might find the noise disruptive, others, like the reviewer who mentioned having a "blast💥 literally here shooting," might see it as a unique and even appealing aspect of the campground. For shooting enthusiasts, the convenience of having a skeet range on-site is a significant draw, with one visitor stating they would be coming more often in the future and highly recommending the place.
Adding to the convenience during the shooting range hours, Clay Targets RV Park operates a snack and drink bar. This is a thoughtful amenity for both those participating in shooting activities and campers who might appreciate refreshments without having to leave the premises. Furthermore, the park is equipped with picnic tables scattered throughout the grounds, offering individual spaces for outdoor dining and relaxation.
While the primary focus of Clay Targets RV Park appears to be on providing essential amenities for RVers and accommodating shooting enthusiasts, its location in Spring Lake, NC, makes it a potentially convenient stop for those traveling through the area, particularly near Fort Bragg. The positive feedback regarding the helpful and friendly staff suggests that visitors can expect a welcoming experience. One first-time visitor specifically commended the staff, indicating a positive initial impression.
For local users searching for "camping near me" with RV facilities, Clay Targets RV Park offers an affordable option with water and electric hookups, a dump station, laundry, and shower facilities. The presence of a grilling area and picnic tables enhances the outdoor living experience. However, it is crucial for potential visitors to be aware of the shooting range operations from Thursday to Sunday and the associated noise levels. If you are an RV traveler looking for a budget-friendly stop with essential amenities and don't mind the daytime sounds of a shooting range, or if you are a shooting enthusiast looking for the convenience of on-site camping, Clay Targets RV Park could be a worthwhile consideration.
In summary, Clay Targets RV Park presents a unique camping experience due to its dual function as a shooting range. It offers practical amenities for RVers, including water and electric hookups, a dump station, coin laundry, and shower/bathroom facilities, all at an affordable price point. The grilling area and picnic tables add to the outdoor comfort. While the daytime noise from the shooting range (Thursday-Sunday until 6 pm) is a significant factor to consider, the helpful and friendly staff contribute to a positive atmosphere. For local users seeking "camping near me" with these specific characteristics, Clay Targets RV Park provides a distinctive option worth exploring. Clay Targets RV Park Reviews
Our group had a blast💥 literally here shooting. Well worth the drive to shoot around of skeet. Going to start coming here more in the near future. Staff was helpful and friendly for my first time being there. I "Highly" recommend this place.
May 21, 2023 · Tim StaleyThis was a great find for us. It is a unique campground. We paid $25/night for water and electric. No sewage hookup, but they have a dump station. They have coin laundry, 2 washers and 2 dryers, 6 shower/bathrooms, recycling bins, and a nice little grilling area with gazebo. This is a shooting range Thurs-Sun. So gun shots all day. We really didn't mind. They are done by 6pm. During the time the range is open they have a snack and drink bar open...which is nice. There are picnic tables all over.If we come back through we will definitely stop by.
Jan 30, 2023 · Nicole B.The grounds are well maintained, maintenance, and staff are really nice. There is a dump station I would give this place 5 stars if they had sewer at all of the sites and bigger sites. I can literally hear my neighbors conversation from inside their camper and snoring when I have my windows open or walk outside. There is a paintball field in the woods, fire pits, and grills.overall nice place
Nov 04, 2021 · Sarah ElizabethOpen to the public. An Army MWR facility that is open to the public. I review the campground. Good prices. Grassy, level sites. Two areas. East is electric hookup only for $15 per night. West is water and electric for $20. Convenient RV wastewater dump. Free ice. Beautiful restroom with showers. Coin laundry $1 to wash and 50 cents to dry. Sites are close together but not crowded end of September. Some homesteaders but friendly. He said they live there full time but they ask them to leave occasionally whenever there is a clay target tournament. There are a couple of campfire areas set up that the homesteaders use in the evenings. Noisy when the clay target range is open but that is to be expected. They are only open 4 days per week and close at 8 PM. Surprisingly there is some road noise from the nearby stop light. Not bad in the late evening but poor soldiers start going to work at 0430. Woke us at "O dark thirty." Friendly staff. They were there on days the range was closed too, perhaps to prevent anyone from using the range when it was closed. The staff will greet you if arriving when the range is closed but they cannot accept payment until they turn on the cash register when the range is open. Good experience and inexpensive.
Oct 05, 2021 · Larry From WisconsinDon't waste your time and money they can't keep the place up they have dilapidated equipment can't seem to be able to fix anything the washers don't work the dryers barley works the toilets all leak they can't keep the grass cut its knee high deep it's beginning to look like a salvage yard instead of a rv park.
