Farm Pond Campground Introduce
Seeking "camping near me" in the Carthage, North Carolina area, perhaps as a convenient base for events in nearby Pinehurst? Farm Pond Campground, located at 2590 Union Church Rd, Carthage, NC 28327, USA, offers a potentially quiet and spacious camping option. You can reach them at (910) 947-5593 or +1 910-947-5593 for inquiries and reservations. While the reviews provide a glimpse into the environment and some aspects of the management, it's important for local users to consider all feedback when evaluating this campground for their needs.
The environment of Farm Pond Campground is described by one reviewer as "very quiet," which can be a significant draw for those seeking a peaceful retreat. The campsites themselves are noted to be "nice, very spacious & wooded," offering ample room for setting up and enjoying the natural surroundings. The presence of trees suggests shade and a more immersive outdoor experience. However, it's important to note that the campground is located on Union Church Road, which one visitor described as a "very busy road." Depending on the specific campsite within the campground, proximity to this road may result in some traffic noise. One reviewer who stayed in the third site from the road still found their site nice, spacious, and wooded, suggesting that the impact of the road noise might vary depending on the location within the campground.
One notable observation from a long-term visitor is that "most of the sites look permanent." This could indicate a community with a significant number of long-term residents, which might influence the overall atmosphere of the campground. While this isn't inherently negative, it's something to be aware of, as the dynamic might differ from campgrounds primarily catering to short-term recreational visitors.
In terms of services, the reviews do not explicitly detail specific amenities such as hookups (electric, water, sewer), restroom facilities, or recreational areas. The mention of staying for a golf tournament in Pinehurst suggests that the campground serves as an accommodation option for visitors attending events in the area, implying basic camping infrastructure is likely available. However, the lack of specific information necessitates further inquiry from potential campers regarding the availability and quality of these services.
The features of Farm Pond Campground, based on the limited information, seem to revolve around its quiet atmosphere (at least away from the road), spacious and wooded campsites, and its convenient location for accessing Pinehurst. The presence of trails in the woods connecting the campground to the owners' residence down the street is an interesting detail about the property's layout, though it doesn't directly translate to a camper amenity unless these trails are accessible for guest use (which is not specified).
The reviews offer mixed feedback regarding the management. One short-term visitor found Lisa, presumably one of the owners, to be "very nice." This positive interaction suggests that some guests may have pleasant experiences with the management. However, a different guest who stayed for three months reported a less favorable experience, describing Lisa as "rude." This long-term visitor also mentioned "unannounced visits" being "fairly common," which could be a concern for privacy and the sense of being undisturbed during a camping stay. The husband of Lisa is described as "nice enough," but his response to a complaint about Lisa's behavior ("yup, that's Lisa!") suggests a potentially challenging dynamic for some guests.
Given these contrasting experiences with the management, local users considering Farm Pond Campground should be aware of the potential for varying interactions. While one visitor had a positive experience, another reported rudeness and a lack of privacy due to unannounced visits. This feedback is crucial for setting expectations and deciding if the potential benefits of the campground (quiet, spacious, wooded sites, proximity to Pinehurst) outweigh the reported management issues.
As there is no promotional information available in the provided reviews, local users would need to contact Farm Pond Campground directly using the provided phone numbers to inquire about current rates, availability, specific amenities, and any special offers. It would also be prudent to ask about the campground's policies regarding guest privacy and any potential for unannounced visits.
In conclusion, Farm Pond Campground in Carthage, NC, offers the appeal of quiet, spacious, and wooded campsites, conveniently located for those visiting the Pinehurst area. However, potential campers should be aware that one of the reviewers noted significant traffic noise from the nearby busy road, depending on the campsite location. Additionally, feedback regarding the campground owner, Lisa, is mixed, with one visitor finding her nice and another describing her as rude and mentioning concerns about privacy due to unannounced visits. Local users seeking "camping near me" should weigh these factors and consider contacting the campground directly for more detailed information about amenities, policies, and current conditions before making a decision.

Farm Pond Campground Reviews
We stayed here for my husband's golf tournament in Pinehurst. Lisa was very nice and this place is very quiet. Most of the sites look permanent. We were in the 3rd from the road which is a very busy road but the site is nice, very spacious & wooded. If it is available we will be back next year.
Aug 18, 2024 · Karen SimmsWe stayed here for 3 months. The campground is nice but the owner, Lisa, is rude. She seems to run most of it. Her husband is nice enough. I asked him about her behavior one day and he said "yup, that's Lisa!" and walked away. They live down the street from the campground but are connected to it by trails in the woods. Unannounced visits were fairly common. We won't stay again.
Jun 01, 2022 · Hunter FoxThe grounds are well kept and the rv slips are nicely spread out with plenty of room for our slide outs. This is a very quiet campground and people really keep to themselves. The problems we ran into is that the WiFi really doesn’t work and there is almost no AT&T or Verizon signal which wasn’t ideal since my husband had some work to do.
Jun 11, 2022 · Stephany SheppardWe stayed here for a quick weekend get away. Very quiet and peaceful away from the hustle and bustle. Full hookups with generous sites. We found the owner to be very pleasant and enjoyed our trip.
Aug 02, 2019 · Walter HammondBeautiful campground in Carthage for star gazing at night. Quiet, family oriented with full hookups and tucked away off the beaten path. Staff is very helpful and garbage is even picked up from your site! A gem like this will stay full so book far in advance and follow the rules so it's not ruined for everyone else 😊
