Cole's Mine RV Resort and Campground Introduce
For local residents seeking "camping near me" in a family-friendly environment, Cole's Mine RV Resort and Campground in Lebanon, Maine, offers a blend of recreational activities and a focus on creating a safe and enjoyable experience for all ages. While some feedback indicates potential additional costs for certain amenities and varying experiences depending on the time of year, the campground appears to be a popular choice for families looking for a well-maintained and engaging camping destination in southern Maine.
One of the frequently mentioned positive aspects of Cole's Mine RV Resort and Campground is its cleanliness. According to visitor reviews, the campground is well-maintained, contributing to a pleasant and comfortable stay. This attention to cleanliness can be a significant factor for families seeking a worry-free camping experience. Additionally, the staff is generally described as friendly, which adds to the welcoming atmosphere of the resort.
Cole's Mine RV Resort and Campground seems to cater particularly well to families with children. A significant highlight for young campers is the presence of a pool, providing a fun and refreshing way to spend their time at the campground. Furthermore, the inclusion of a "little Zipline" appears to be a major attraction, keeping children entertained for extended periods. The unique feature of an "abandoned mine" on the property also adds an element of adventure and exploration that kids seem to thoroughly enjoy, making their camping trip more memorable.
The campground's family-oriented nature extends to its rules and regulations, which, according to one reviewer, contribute to the overall positive and safe atmosphere. This suggests that Cole's Mine RV Resort and Campground prioritizes maintaining a respectful environment where families can feel secure and comfortable. The fact that the campground reportedly does not tolerate adult misbehavior can be seen as a significant plus for families seeking a peaceful and well-managed camping experience.
While the positive aspects highlight the family-friendly appeal, some feedback indicates areas where potential visitors might want to be aware. One review mentioned additional charges for early check-in and for the use of certain recreational equipment like cornhole and horseshoes. It's advisable for prospective campers to inquire about any potential extra fees for amenities they plan to use. The same reviewer also noted a perceived high frequency of patrols by employees and owners on golf carts and raised a concern about the safety standards of the fire pits, suggesting a possible difference in regulations compared to other regions.
Another point of feedback mentioned a less than ideal check-in experience at the gate, where paperwork caused a perceived issue despite no other vehicles being present. This suggests that while the intention might be to manage traffic flow, the process could be smoother. Additionally, the availability and offering of activities might vary depending on the time of year, as one reviewer noted that preparations for a Halloween weekend limited the activities offered during their stay. It would be prudent for potential visitors to inquire about the schedule of activities, especially if visiting during shoulder seasons or special event periods.
Despite some of these points, the overall sentiment from families who have visited Cole's Mine RV Resort and Campground appears positive, particularly regarding its appeal to children and the cleanliness of the facilities. The combination of a pool, zipline, and the novelty of exploring an "abandoned mine" provides ample on-site entertainment for kids, allowing parents to relax and enjoy their camping experience as well. The campground's location in Lebanon, ME, offers a convenient getaway for local residents looking for a camping destination within a reasonable distance.
In conclusion, Cole's Mine RV Resort and Campground presents itself as a family-oriented "camping near me" option in Lebanon, Maine, with a focus on providing a clean and safe environment. The availability of a pool, zipline, and the unique "abandoned mine" feature makes it particularly attractive to families with children. While potential visitors should be aware of possible additional fees for certain amenities and the possibility of varying activity offerings depending on the time of year, the positive feedback regarding cleanliness, friendly staff, and kid-friendly attractions suggests that Cole's Mine could be a great choice for a local family camping adventure. Cole's Mine RV Resort and Campground Reviews
$10 for early check in on am empty weekend, no kid friendly activities at all while we stay, $10 for cornhole and $10 for horseshoes, employees and owners patrolling on golf carts way more often than anywhere I have seen and the fire pits at least in my opinion are not safe or contained (second time camping in Maine I have seen this fire pits that aren’t up to safety standards of many other places so I’m assuming Maine is lax about this?) feel like we paid a lot for nothing however maybe it’s the weekend we chose, the activities they offer seem fun but we weren’t offered that many due to the preparation for Halloween Weekend! We also were told to check in at the gate bit got yelled at for blocking the gate while doing paperwork even though not one person was behind us and we were instructed via phone to do this
Oct 05, 2024 · Skylar MartinHaven't been camping since the late 1990s, but grandkids expressed an interest so we bought a cabin tent and made a 3 night reservation at Cole's Mine. The location was close enough so that if tenting didn't work out we could break camp and go home. The grandkids loved it. My wife and I were pretty pleased as well because the campground was clean and the people were friendly. Some have complained about the rules, but from my perspective the rules are part of what makes the place so nice. It's family oriented and feels safe. There is just enough on site to keep the kids occupied and they quickly made friends with other kids at the campground. The pool is definitely the highlight, but the little Zipline kept the girls busy for hours and finding the "abandoned mine" made their day. This campground is a great place to take kids and the fact that they don't tolerate adult misbehavior is a plus in our opinion.
Aug 12, 2024 · Steve FurbishA really nice campground! It is beautiful. Lots of pull through spots with trees to provide some privacy from neighbors (some - not total). The restrooms and showers were clean and well maintained. The showers are for a fee, but they are huge. There is plenty of room to walk around, nice hot tubs, and a cute pool area. There are several play areas for kids and adults. They have a rec room, a food truck (only open sometimes), and a small store. Easy pull up spots to check in and a key card to get in and out of the gate. It’s a beautiful property.
Jun 23, 2024 · Alicia AdamsThe name drew us in (our son is Cole) but the entire campground will keep us coming back! For those who have read through the negative comments, the people writing them clearly didn’t follow the rules and it is evident in their complaints. The owners don’t try to hide their rules, they just want to maintain a beautiful campground.Staff were phenomenal. The owner is so sweet, helpful, and full of positive energy; you can tell she loves what she does! Yes, they have rules but it is so that the campground will remain a family place. It’s peaceful, pristine, and the amenities are great for families. Definitely check it out if you are a respectful camper 😉.
Aug 20, 2023 · Amy MartinsWe stayed here for our 1st time the past 2 wks. Enjoyed it so much we booked again for next summers vacation, and a shorter visit for next month! Grounds are super clean. Sites are very level. Laundry area was perfect. Restrooms super clean and smelled nice. We did not use the showers, but they are huge, clean and looked very nice!Very small camp store, but nice & clean. Seasonals & wkndr ppl very friendly. We stayed on Site 60. Huge pull thru site. Had guests visit, and they had no problems. It did rain quite a bit at night, but no flooding in our site, and things were pretty dry by next morning.Cole delivered our firewood right to our site. Loved the Firepit set up!Had interactions with Shane, Sonya, Cole & Heather in the office, and all were very pleasant. Can't wait to come back.
