Colonial Mast Campground Introduce
If you're searching for "camping near me" in the Naples, Maine area, Colonial Mast Campground, located at 1 Colonial Mast Rd, Naples, ME 04055, presents itself as a potentially convenient and welcoming option. While primarily a campground, it appears to offer unique features like pool party rentals and a relaxing atmosphere that has resonated with different types of visitors.
One reviewer shared their experience booking a pool party for their daughter's 6th birthday. They noted that the "place was clean, and great atmosphere," although they did mention it being "a bit hot." This suggests that Colonial Mast Campground maintains a clean environment and offers a pleasant setting for events. A notable aspect of their experience was the scheduling of their party alongside another event in the lodge. This resulted in a situation where the reviewer was unable to set up decorations and party supplies while the other party was using the space. Consequently, the initial part of their allocated time felt rushed as they had to set up while the children were waiting. This experience highlights a potential consideration for those planning events at the campground – the importance of clear communication and scheduling to ensure adequate setup time.
Despite this scheduling challenge, the reviewer did appreciate the amenities provided by Colonial Mast Campground, specifically mentioning that they had "life vest, toys, noodles, and goggles for us to use while there!" This indicates that the campground offers thoughtful extras for pool users, particularly families with children, enhancing the overall experience and potentially reducing the need for guests to bring their own aquatic gear. The staff member on site, Sarah, was also commended for being "very nice, and attentive," suggesting a positive and helpful service orientation at the campground.
Another reviewer offers a completely different perspective, initially viewing Colonial Mast Campground as a "convenient, affordable place" for physical therapy after a double knee replacement. Located just 20 minutes from their home on Sebago Lake, it provided a closer alternative to a pristine pool at a college campus further away. This unique use case highlights a potential advantage of Colonial Mast Campground – its accessibility and affordability for local residents seeking specific needs beyond traditional camping.
Interestingly, this reviewer found themselves "retreating to Colonial Mast more and more." They cited several reasons for this preference, including a warmer pool temperature, a "welcoming" campground atmosphere, and "much more flexible" hours compared to their other option. This suggests that Colonial Mast Campground offers a comfortable and accommodating environment that can be particularly appealing for individuals seeking a relaxed and less formal setting.
The reviewer further elaborated on the welcoming atmosphere, noting that "in those ‘down days’ where you need an extra push to get out to PT I found the unassuming atmosphere to be welcoming and relaxing." This implies that the campground has a laid-back and non-judgmental vibe, which can be conducive to healing and relaxation. The sentiment "sometimes we need to treat ourselves gently. This is a good place for that" encapsulates the reviewer's positive experience and suggests that Colonial Mast Campground offers a sense of ease and comfort.
Combining these two distinct experiences, Colonial Mast Campground appears to offer a multifaceted appeal. For families, it provides a clean environment with pool access and thoughtful amenities for children, making it a potential option for birthday parties and recreational swimming. The friendly and attentive staff also contribute to a positive experience for event organizers and their guests. However, clear communication and careful planning regarding event scheduling seem crucial to avoid any overlap or rushed setup times.
For local residents, Colonial Mast Campground can serve as a convenient and affordable option for various needs, as demonstrated by the reviewer using the pool for physical therapy. The warmer pool temperature, welcoming atmosphere, and flexible hours were key factors in their positive and repeated use of the facility. This suggests that the campground might be a valuable resource for the local community beyond just traditional camping.
Regarding the environment of Colonial Mast Campground, the reviews provide limited details beyond mentioning its proximity to Sebago Lake (within a 20-minute drive). Sebago Lake is a significant natural attraction in Southern Maine, known for its size and recreational opportunities. This suggests that Colonial Mast Campground benefits from its location in a region with natural beauty and potential for outdoor activities beyond the campground itself. The "great atmosphere" mentioned by the pool party reviewer also hints at a pleasant physical setting within the campground, although specific details are lacking.
In terms of services and features, the reviews highlight pool access, including the availability of life vests, toys, noodles, and goggles. The option to book pool parties suggests that the campground has facilities to accommodate group events. The presence of staff like Sarah indicates on-site support for guests. The warmer pool temperature and flexible hours were significant features for the physical therapy user. As a campground, it would be reasonable to assume that Colonial Mast offers campsites for tents and/or RVs, although this is not explicitly stated in the provided reviews. Basic amenities such as restrooms and showers are also typically expected at campgrounds, but their condition or modernity is not mentioned.
Promotional information is limited to the implicit promotion through positive customer experiences. The fact that a local resident chose Colonial Mast Campground for physical therapy due to its convenience, affordability, and welcoming atmosphere could be seen as a unique selling point for other residents seeking similar needs. The family who booked a pool party, despite the scheduling hiccup, still highlighted the cleanliness and great atmosphere, suggesting its viability for local events. The provision of pool accessories could also be considered a promotional aspect, enhancing the value for families using the pool.
To gain a more comprehensive understanding of Colonial Mast Campground, local users are encouraged to contact them directly at (207) 693-6652 or +1 207-693-6652. Inquiring about the types of campsites available, other amenities offered (restrooms, showers, recreational facilities), pool hours and availability, specific policies for booking events like pool parties, and any current rates or promotions would be beneficial. Given its proximity to Sebago Lake, asking about any potential partnerships or information regarding local attractions might also be helpful for those planning a stay.
In conclusion, Colonial Mast Campground in Naples, Maine, appears to be a local establishment that offers more than just a place to camp. Its clean environment, welcoming atmosphere, and pool facilities make it a potential option for both recreational stays and specific needs like physical therapy. While there are considerations to be aware of when booking events, the positive experiences shared by reviewers, particularly regarding the staff and the overall ambiance, suggest that Colonial Mast Campground is worth considering for those seeking a convenient and relaxed setting in the Sebago Lake region.

Colonial Mast Campground Reviews
We booked a pool party for my daughter's 6th birthday... place was clean, and great atmosphere, although a bit hot... our party was piggy backed on another party, so I was unable to set up while the kids were swimming, as the other party was in the lodge... and then I was having to decorate and set up as the kids all were just sitting and waiting and then our second hour felt very rushed to do everything because I spent 15 mins of it setting stuff up, and then to get through food, cake, and gifts, we didn't have time to do the other activity we had planned... so that was alittle unfortunate, but knowing that all now I would plan more accordingly for future parties if we did it again... I loved that they had life vest, toys, noodles, and goggles for us to use while there! Sarah was the staff member on site and she was very nice, and attentive.
Mar 19, 2024 · Samantha HolmesI think I’m a bit of a snob. I looked at this place as a convenient, affordable place to do my physical therapy after a double knee replacement . It’s 20 minutes from my home on Sebago Lake. My other option was the pristine pool at St. Joseph’s college in Standish, a beautiful campus with all the positive energy that a college campus offers .I found myself retreating to Colonial Mast more and more . The pool temp is warmer, the campground atmosphere was welcoming , hours much more flexible. In those “down days” where you need an extra push to get out to PT I found the unassuming atmosphere to be welcoming and relaxing.Sometimes we need to treat ourselves gently . This is a good place for that .
Feb 12, 2025 · susan mitchellBest camping experience yet!! From the moment we signed in to the moment we left was an awesome experience! The off season office is beautiful with chairs to sit around the fireplace. The lady at the checkin desk was very welcoming and super polite. She answered all of my questions and told me where to go.I reserved a space next to the beach and when I got to the area, the owners were there to greet me and to help me out with backing up the trailer if I needed it since it was a tighter area to get into. The guy even gave me pointers on hooking up the camper better for a more weight balanced ride(this was my first time pulling a camper and his tips helped A LOT when I went to leave at the end of my stay). The beach area was gorgeous. If it was during warmer weather I would have definitely went for a swim!Cant say enough about our wonderful experience!!Will definitely be back when I visit next time!!
Oct 19, 2018 · Jonathan AponickWonderful, friendly, welcoming staff. Really nice lake front sites. Very close to town. Nice and quiet during our stay.
Jun 11, 2022 · Lisa FJust stayed here for the first time while celebrating our 50th anniversary. We found the staff to be super friendly, and the locals were so great, too! Restrooms were spotless and tastefully decorated with bear, tree, moose amd loon themes. The grounds are impeccably maintained, and we loved that quiet time was enforced. The water aerobics class Thursday night was wonderful after driving all day! Thank you everyone for an awesome weekend! We will come again!
