Lakeside Pines Campground Introduce
Are you a local resident of Maine or the surrounding areas searching for a "camping near me" experience that offers a lakeside setting in the picturesque town of Bridgton? Lakeside Pines Campground, situated at 54 Lakeside Pines, Bridgton, ME 04009, could be a destination to consider. Located in the popular Lakes Region of Maine, Bridgton is known for its natural beauty and recreational opportunities. You can reach Lakeside Pines Campground at (207) 647-3935 or their mobile number, +1 207-647-3935, for inquiries and reservations.
The environment of Lakeside Pines Campground is defined by its location on a beautiful lake, the specific name of which is not mentioned but is clearly a central feature. The presence of "massive pines" suggests a wooded setting, offering shade and a sense of being immersed in nature. For local users seeking "lakefront camping" with a rustic feel, Lakeside Pines Campground appears to offer this ambiance. The first reviewer noted the beauty of the lake and the nice size of their campsite, nestled among the pines, indicating a potentially scenic and pleasant natural environment. However, the second reviewer described the area under the dense trees as still and thick, leading to discomfort even on 70-degree nights, especially with rain. This suggests that while the lakeside might offer breezes, some interior sites could be less ventilated, a factor local campers might want to consider based on the time of year.
Based on the customer reviews, Lakeside Pines Campground is a long-established campground with many seasonal sites. This implies a sense of community among long-term residents. For local users seeking a seasonal camping spot, this could be appealing. The campground also accommodates short-term campers, as indicated by the reviewers' visits. Services mentioned include full hookups with 50 amps at some sites, which is a significant feature for RV owners looking for "camping near me" with comprehensive utility connections. Dylan, an employee, is specifically praised for being "very helpful" in guiding a camper to their site, suggesting friendly and helpful staff.
However, the reviews also highlight some potential drawbacks. The bathroom and showers are described as "old," although the first reviewer did not use them. The second reviewer went further, mentioning "pay mildewed showers," which raises concerns about the cleanliness and condition of these facilities. This is an important factor for local users who value clean and well-maintained amenities during their camping trips.
Another feature mentioned is the size of the campsites. The first reviewer noted that their site was a "nice size" but also advised that "most sites were not long" and recommended calling ahead, especially for RVs, to ensure a suitable fit. This suggests variability in site dimensions, and local RV owners should definitely inquire about site lengths when booking. The second reviewer mentioned their site 23 was listed as 20 amp with a 15 amp outlet but had a 30 amp fuse, indicating potential inconsistencies or issues with electrical hookups that local campers should be aware of and possibly verify upon arrival.
The second reviewer also raised concerns about the campground's attitude towards "outsiders," suggesting a preference for filling vacant spots for their own advantage and mentioning a strict no-refund policy within 14 days and penalties before then. They also described the office staff as "dismissive and indifferent." These are serious considerations for local users seeking a welcoming and accommodating camping experience. The reviewer's strong recommendation to "keep driving" and find a more deserving campground should not be ignored and presents a contrasting view to the positive aspects mentioned by the other reviewer.
The presence of many full-timers with their own meters and running air conditioning units all night, as mentioned by the second reviewer, could impact the experience for short-term campers in terms of noise levels and the overall atmosphere. Local users seeking a quiet and natural ambiance might be disturbed by the sounds of air conditioners running throughout the night.
There is no promotional information provided in the reviews. Local users interested in potential discounts for local residents, off-season rates, or any other special offers should contact Lakeside Pines Campground directly. Given the mixed reviews, it would be particularly important to inquire about the condition of the facilities, the size and electrical hookups of specific sites, and the campground's policies regarding refunds and cancellations.
In conclusion, Lakeside Pines Campground in Bridgton, Maine, offers a lakefront setting with mature pines, providing a potentially scenic "camping near me" option. It caters to both seasonal and short-term campers and offers full hookups at some sites. However, potential drawbacks include older and possibly mildewed bathroom facilities, variable site sizes, potential inconsistencies with electrical hookups, and concerns raised by one reviewer regarding management attitude and policies. Local users should carefully consider these points and the contrasting customer experiences when deciding if Lakeside Pines Campground meets their needs for a local camping getaway. It is highly recommended to contact the campground directly for detailed information about site availability, amenities, policies, and any current promotions before making a reservation.

Lakeside Pines Campground Reviews
This is a campground so room rating is for quality of site. Many seasonal sites. We were there after Labor day so other than a few other campers on the weekend it was almost empty. The lake is beautiful. This is a long established campground, well kept but bathroom and showers, didn't use but old.We had full hookups 50 amps. Dylan was very helpful in guiding me into our site.which was a nice size nestled in the pines. I noticed that most sites were not long, call ahead, they are very friendly.
Sep 17, 2024 · William SchottlerRustic simple haven amongst massive pines. But, even with 70 degree nights, it was so still and thick below the dense trees that we sweated like pigs. It rained two of those 70 degree nights, and we were dripping. The lovely breeze at the shoreline stopped there and at dusk. Our site 23 was listed as 20 amp, with a 15 amp outlet. But it had a 30 amp glass fuse in the disconnect above the plug. Most of the full timers around us had their own meters, and we got to listen to their A/C units run all night. This campground obviously doesn't want outsiders. They just want to fill every resulting vacant spot to their advantage. No refunds within 14 days, and penalties before then. Dismissive and indifferent office staff. Oh yes, pay mildewed showers as well. Don't buy into this. Keep driving, and just enjoy the public beach on your way to some other deserving and practical campground.
Aug 02, 2024 · Mark AckermanMy family is heading to Lakeside Pines tomorrow for our 52nd year. Started going there at 14. What I love is pulling in every year to the same place like a time warp. It's comforting. Have brought 3 generations up there. Since 1972. Holds so much memories of great people great staff and an amazing 2 weeks every August. ❤️❤️❤️
Aug 09, 2024 · Ellen McRaeThe campground is beautiful, quiet and well taken care of. A little slow for the middle of June but the staff were amazing and very helpful. The views and the experiences were great. All of the facilities were very clean, a little older and much more rustic than some other campgrounds. Every bit of our week stay was well worth it. We were even able to bring our boat over and dock it for the week. Pretty amazing place. What a great location as well only a short distance, 5 minutes to downtown Harrison, and 10 minutes to bridgton and the great old school drive-in.Thank you so much Brenda!!!
Jun 25, 2023 · warren elsaesserWe should have driven around first, before we were given a tent site. We were not given a choice. At first we paid for a cabin, but I couldn’t get myself to stay there, just in bad shape and I felt our tent was probably more sanitary. Most sites were for long time residents, most had left for the season so although it looked full, it was mostly empty. Road noise was an issue. Bathroom was clean, well supplied. Didn’t use showers. The best thing was the view.
