One enthusiastic reviewer, in their first year of camping, described Vacationland Campground as "another awesome campground!" This positive initial impression speaks volumes about the quality and appeal of this location. A significant highlight mentioned is the availability of "waterfront sites" that truly live up to their description, placing campers right next to the water's edge. Imagine waking up to stunning lake views and having direct access to the water for swimming, boating, or simply enjoying the scenery. This proximity to the water appears to be a key feature that sets Vacationland Campground apart.
The campground itself is lauded for being "kept very nice," indicating a commitment to cleanliness and maintenance. This attention to detail extends to the facilities, with the reviewer specifically mentioning that "the bathrooms, rec room, showers are modern and clean." Having access to well-maintained and up-to-date facilities significantly enhances the overall camping experience, providing comfort and convenience for all guests. The presence of a rec room suggests a communal space for activities and socializing, further contributing to the campground's welcoming atmosphere.
The natural beauty of the location is also highlighted, with the "beach and lake" being described as "beautiful with easy access." This implies that Vacationland Campground offers a prime spot for enjoying water-based activities and relaxing by the shore. The fact that this camper signed up for a third season speaks volumes about their positive overall experience. They share a heartwarming reason for their continued commitment to Vacationland Campground: their grandchildren "LOVE everything that it has to offer" and cherish the friendships and memories made there. This reinforces the campground's strong appeal to families and its ability to create lasting positive experiences for children.
This long-term seasonal camper also emphasizes the importance of engaging with the campground community, noting that they needed to "get out and meet the many wonderful people who are also camping there." They highlight the mix of long-term and new campers, fostering a diverse and welcoming social environment. Their direct experience with the owners, Gretchen and Tim, and their staff has been consistently positive, describing them as "nothing but wonderful" to their family.
The reviewer also touches upon the importance of campground rules, stating their belief that "you need rules to run a safe and happy environment that people want to be a part of." This suggests that while Vacationland Campground may have guidelines in place, they are perceived as necessary for maintaining a positive and enjoyable experience for all guests.
The high level of satisfaction is further emphasized by the reviewer stating they "would give a higher rating if it were possible" and expressing their anticipation for the following year and reconnecting with the people they have come to know. Vacationland Campground Reviews
We have been lucky with campgrounds in our first year of camping. This is another awesome campground! The waterfront sites are as advertised, you are next to the water. The campground is kept very nice. The bathrooms, rec room, showers are modern and clean. The beach and lake are beautiful with easy access. We were fortunate enough to have a site right on the beach and it was the best. If you have children, the playground is very nice and plenty of activities for them. Seasonal campers were friendly and the owner and staff were super friendly and helpful. We booked the same site for next year. Thank you Gretchen, Sandy, and Norm, it was nice meeting you! We had a great experience!
Sep 03, 2019 · John RiordanThis is our 2nd year as a seasonal at Vacationland Campground. The first year was a rough one as we were "new" to the camping scene. We had a ton of rain which kept us away for a bit. This was no reflection on Gretchen or Tim who are the owners. We signed up for another year and that was this year. .. at first I wasn't sure that I would sign up again for a 3rd season. But let me tell you what changed my mind. Not only do my grandchildren LOVE everything that it has to offer, they love making new friends and precious memories! It was me who needed to get out and meet the many wonderful people who are also camping there. Some have been there for many years and some that are new. I have never had a time when Gretchen and Tim and even their staff have been anything but wonderful to me and my family. Now are there rules to follow..... yes, yes, there are, but my belief is that you need rules to run a safe and happy environment that people want to be a part of. I would give a higher rating if it were possible. I am looking forward to next year and seeing those that I have come to know. Keep up the great work Gretchen and Tim😊
