Copper Creek Campground Introduce
Looking for "camping near me" in the scenic region of Bonners Ferry, Idaho? Copper Creek Campground, located in Bonners Ferry, ID 83805, USA, offers a camping experience that many have found to be wonderful. Based on the available customer reviews, we can provide an objective introduction to help local users decide if this campground suits their needs for an Idaho getaway.
The reviews present a somewhat contrasting view, with one highlighting the beauty and maintenance of the campground but also a negative encounter with the camp hosts, while another praises it as a favorite for years, whether tent camping or RV camping, emphasizing spacious and private campsites. These differing perspectives suggest that while the natural setting of Copper Creek Campground is generally well-regarded, the experience might be influenced by interactions with staff.
Environment: Beautiful and Potentially Private
One reviewer described Copper Creek Campground as "beautiful and well maintained," indicating an appealing natural setting that is cared for. Another long-time visitor echoed this sentiment, calling it a "wonderful campground" and one of their favorites. They also directly contradicted a previous (unprovided) review claiming the campground was full of RVs and ATVs with no privacy, asserting that the campsites are "huge" and "most are very private." This suggests that for many, the environment offers both natural beauty and a sense of seclusion.
The name "Copper Creek Campground" implies the presence of a creek nearby, which likely adds to the scenic value and may offer ambient sounds of flowing water. Additionally, a reviewer recommended visiting Copper Creek Falls, located just 1.5 miles down the road, indicating that the campground is situated in an area with notable natural attractions beyond the campsite itself.
The discrepancy in reviews regarding privacy and the type of campers present suggests that experiences might vary depending on the time of year or specific campsite. However, the more recent and detailed positive review paints a picture of spacious and private sites within a beautiful setting.
Services and Amenities: Well-Maintained Basic Facilities
While specific details about all services and amenities are not listed, the positive mention of the campground being "well maintained" suggests that the basic facilities are likely kept in good order. Typically, campgrounds offer:
- Designated Campsites: Suitable for both tents and RVs, as indicated by the reviews. The positive reviewer noted the suitability for both types of camping.
- Basic Amenities: Such as picnic tables and fire rings at campsites.
- Restroom Facilities: The type (e.g., vault toilets or flush toilets) is not specified.
- Water Access: Potable water sources are usually available, though not explicitly mentioned.
The negative review did not comment on the physical amenities of the campground, focusing instead on the behavior of the camp hosts. The positive review's return visits over several years imply that the basic services provided are satisfactory.
Features: Spacious Sites, Creek Proximity, and Nearby Waterfall
Key features of Copper Creek Campground, based on the reviews, appear to be:
- Spacious and Private Campsites: As highlighted by a long-time visitor.
- Beautiful and Well-Maintained Environment: Appreciated by multiple reviewers.
- Proximity to Copper Creek (Implied): The name suggests the presence of the creek.
- Easy Access to Copper Creek Falls: Located just a short drive away.
However, potential visitors should also be aware of the negative feedback regarding the rudeness of the camp hosts mentioned in one review. This suggests that while the physical environment is appealing, interactions with staff might not always be positive.

Copper Creek Campground Reviews
The campground is beautiful and well maintained but the camp hosts are the rudest we’ve ever encountered (Mike & Dale Rhoads). They threatened to kick us out. All we wanted to do was have a place to camp and enjoy company of friends. They threatened other campers as well. We are middle aged and were not causing any problems and we always leave a clean campsite. These camp hosts need to be replaced with hosts who are not on a power trip.
Aug 07, 2023 · Bobbi *This is a wonderful campground. It has been one of our favorites for years. We've camped here many times in our tent and loved it. This year we brought our RV and it was just as wonderful. I don't know where that person who camped here said the campground was full of RVs and ATVs and no privacy 10 months ago was, but it wasn't here. 10 months ago would be last September....I doubt the campground was full then, as it would have been off season. Usually in off season, Forest Service campgrounds out here are empty and completely free to use. Also, the campsites are huge. Most are very private. So, that person has probably never been to this particular campground. In any event, we love staying here. If you do come, don't forget to drive the 1.5 miles down the road and visit Copper Creek Falls.
Jul 27, 2021 · Cheri WallerWe had so much fun camping together as a family group. We took up 3 spaces all together. It's in a beautiful area with lots of lakes, a beautiful river, waterfall, and hiking to see and do! Spruce Lake has fish literally leaping out of it right in front of you!Only thing I would say is I would camp away from the camp host - more private. :)
Aug 30, 2021 · Bethany SchefferWe didn't stay here - just checked it out and moved on. Looked like a nice campground but the day we were there, the campground was full of RVs and ATVs. Seemed like the campsites were close together and there was little privacy between them. We are tent campers and like dense forest with few people - just us and nature. So this place was not a good fit for us. But, if you have an RV or don't mind being surrounded by them, it might work for you.
Sep 03, 2020 · DBCamp hosts Steve and Cheryl keep everything really clean. Cleanest toilets I've ever seen in a campground. Steve is really helpful giving directions to back country lakes and waterfalls in the area, he even gave us a map.
