Corral Creek Boat-In Campground Introduce
Seeking a distinctive "camping near me" experience that combines lakeside beauty with the adventure of a boat-in campsite? Look no further than Corral Creek Boat-In Campground, located on NF-112 near Entiat, WA 98822, USA. With phone numbers (509) 664-9200 and +1 509-664-9200, this campground on Lake Entiat offers a unique opportunity for local users to immerse themselves in a potentially secluded and picturesque setting. As a boat-in campground, access is primarily by water, adding an element of exclusivity and adventure to your "camping near me" getaway.
The environment surrounding Corral Creek Boat-In Campground is defined by its location on the shores of Lake Entiat in Washington State. Lake Entiat is a long, narrow lake formed by the Columbia River, known for its scenic beauty and recreational opportunities. Being a boat-in campground, Corral Creek likely offers a more remote and tranquil environment compared to campgrounds accessible by road. Campers can expect to be surrounded by the natural landscapes of the region, potentially including forests, rocky shorelines, and the expansive views of Lake Entiat. The sound of the water lapping against the shore and the surrounding natural sounds will likely contribute to a peaceful atmosphere. One reviewer describes it as a "gorgeous spot" and another mentions it as their "favorite place on the lake to camp," highlighting the appealing natural environment. However, one review from four years ago noted the presence of bears in the area, emphasizing the need for caution and proper food storage in bear country.
Services at Corral Creek Boat-In Campground, while potentially more primitive due to its boat-in nature, still likely include essential facilities for campers. One reviewer specifically mentions a "great toilet," indicating the presence of at least one maintained restroom facility, which is a significant amenity for a boat-in location. The second reviewer also corrects the first by stating that "Corral Creek has an excellent dock with space for about 4 boats," confirming a crucial service for accessing the campground. While the first review from four years ago noted the absence of a bear box at the campsites they used, the current status regarding bear-resistant food storage would need to be verified. Given the presence of bears, it is highly recommended that the campground now provides bear boxes or has strict guidelines for food storage. Access to potable water might be limited or non-existent, requiring campers to bring their own or have a means of purification. Fire pits or designated areas for campfires are also likely to be present. Information regarding trash disposal would be important for campers to know to maintain the cleanliness of this potentially remote location.
The features of Corral Creek Boat-In Campground are centered around its unique accessibility and lakeside setting. The "excellent dock with space for about 4 boats" is a key feature, providing a secure place for campers to moor their watercraft. The "fantastic camp sites," as described by one reviewer, suggest well-situated areas for setting up tents and enjoying the surroundings. The presence of a "great toilet" is a significant convenience for a boat-in campground. The potential for a more secluded and less crowded camping experience due to boat-only access is a major draw for those seeking tranquility. The gorgeous location on Lake Entiat offers opportunities for various water activities such as swimming, fishing, and potentially other boating activities beyond just accessing the campground. The proximity to the surrounding natural areas might also offer opportunities for hiking from the campsites, although this is not explicitly detailed. The historical mention of bears in the area is a crucial feature to be aware of, necessitating proper food storage and adherence to any bear safety guidelines provided by the managing authority (likely the US Forest Service given the NF-112 designation).
The customer reviews, while somewhat limited, offer valuable insights into Corral Creek Boat-In Campground for local users exploring "camping near me" options. The first review highlights both the beauty of the location and a past issue with the lack of a bear box, emphasizing the importance of wildlife awareness and preparedness. The mention of many day visitors suggests that the area is popular for its lakeside appeal, even for those not camping overnight. The second review directly contradicts the first regarding the dock, confirming a significant amenity for boat access and also praises the campsites and toilet facilities, indicating a positive overall experience. The discrepancy regarding the bear box from four years ago underscores the importance of seeking current information about safety features and regulations. The combined feedback suggests a beautiful lakeside location with a good dock and campsites, but with a known presence of bears requiring careful food storage and awareness.
Corral Creek Boat-In Campground primarily caters to local users who have access to a boat and are seeking a more secluded and adventurous "camping near me" experience on Lake Entiat. The boat-in access naturally limits the number of visitors and likely contributes to a quieter atmosphere. Those who enjoy lakeside camping, swimming, fishing, and potentially other water sports will find this location appealing. The mention of a good dock makes it suitable for boaters who want a secure place to leave their vessels while camping. Given the historical mention of bears, it will likely attract campers who are experienced in bear country and prepared to take necessary safety precautions. Families or groups looking for a unique and potentially more private camping experience on Lake Entiat would also be drawn to this boat-in campground.
Promotional information for Corral Creek Boat-In Campground is not provided in the given text. Campgrounds managed by the US Forest Service, which is likely the case given the "NF-112" designation in the address, typically have established fees and reservation systems rather than frequent promotions. Local users should visit the official website of the Okanogan-Wenatchee National Forest or contact the Entiat Ranger District directly at the provided phone numbers to inquire about current camping fees, reservation procedures (which are often required for boat-in campgrounds due to limited space), and any specific regulations or guidelines for Corral Creek. Information regarding the availability of bear boxes or food storage requirements would also be essential to obtain from these official sources.
For local users planning a "camping near me" trip to Corral Creek Boat-In Campground, thorough preparation is crucial due to its boat-in access and potential remoteness. Ensuring your boat is in good working order and equipped with necessary safety gear is paramount. Bringing all essential camping supplies, including food, water (or a reliable water purification method), shelter, cooking equipment, and first-aid supplies, is necessary. Given the historical mention of bears, researching current bear safety guidelines for the Lake Entiat area and having a plan for secure food storage (whether it's a bear box, bear canister, or hanging food properly) is essential. Check the weather forecast before your trip, as lake conditions can change rapidly. Inform someone of your travel plans and expected return time. Be prepared for a more rustic camping experience with potentially limited amenities beyond the dock and toilet. Finally, practice Leave No Trace principles to help preserve the beauty and natural environment of this unique boat-in campground for future visitors.
In conclusion, Corral Creek Boat-In Campground on Lake Entiat near Entiat, WA, offers a unique and potentially rewarding "camping near me" experience for local users with boat access. Its lakeside environment, coupled with the adventure of boating in, creates a more secluded and tranquil getaway. The presence of a good dock and toilet facilities are significant amenities for a boat-in location. However, the historical mention of bears necessitates careful attention to food storage and safety. Potential campers should contact the Okanogan-Wenatchee National Forest for the most current information on fees, reservations, bear safety guidelines, and any other relevant regulations to ensure a safe and enjoyable trip to this beautiful lakeside campground.

Corral Creek Boat-In Campground Reviews
A lot of people come here just for the day. We camped here four years ago, and out of the 4 spots, it didn't have a bear box. We kept our cooler in the boat. We had a bear come down at night, thank God we had our dogs that scared it off. It's a gorgeous spot.
