Silver Falls Campground Introduce
For local users in the Entiat, Washington area seeking exceptional "camping near me" experiences, Silver Falls Campground, located in Entiat, WA 98822, USA, offers a picturesque natural setting centered around beautiful waterfalls and a family-friendly hiking trail. Based on customer reviews, this campground provides a wonderful opportunity to immerse yourself in the beauty of the Pacific Northwest, although potential visitors should be aware of certain conditions and limitations.
The environment surrounding Silver Falls Campground is a major draw, characterized by scenic beauty and the presence of waterfalls. One reviewer notes that the area is "great with a small but pleasing hike" that offers "a few views of the waterfalls." Another reviewer, who hiked the trail multiple times as a child, attests to the "beautiful views along the journey." The natural landscape provides a tranquil and visually appealing backdrop for a camping getaway. The presence of a hike directly accessible from the campground adds significant value for those who enjoy exploring on foot and experiencing nature up close.
The primary feature of Silver Falls Campground appears to be its access to the Silver Falls hiking trail. Reviews indicate that this is a circuit trail, making it convenient for a loop hike. The trail seems to be suitable for a range of ages and fitness levels, as one reviewer mentioned that their 70-year-old mother was able to hike it with breaks, and their 5-year-old also enjoyed it. This suggests that the trail offers a manageable challenge and rewarding views for families with members of varying ages and abilities. The hike is described as an "excellent family hike option," further highlighting its appeal to those camping with children.
In terms of services and features directly at the campground, the information suggests a more rustic, "dry camping" experience with "no hookups" available. This means that campers should be prepared to be self-sufficient in terms of water, electricity, and waste disposal. This type of camping is ideal for those who prefer a more traditional and immersive outdoor experience and come prepared with the necessary equipment. The lack of hookups might be a limitation for those with larger RVs or those who rely on external power and water sources for comfort.
One important environmental factor to be aware of is the seasonal presence of mosquitoes. One reviewer mentions that there is "a season where the mosquitoes are insane," but that "for the most part it's pleasant." This suggests that the timing of your visit could impact your experience, and it would be wise to inquire about the best times to visit to avoid peak mosquito season. Bringing insect repellent is likely advisable, especially during the warmer months.
Regarding the suitability for RVs and trailers, one reviewer specifically mentions that "the campgrounds don’t cater to super long trailers." They suggest that an "ideal trailer size" would probably be "20’ or less." This is a crucial piece of information for those planning to camp with trailers or RVs. The limited space or layout of the campground may not accommodate larger vehicles, so it is essential to confirm site dimensions and accessibility when making reservations if you plan to bring a trailer or RV.
Promotional information is not explicitly provided in the reviews. In summary, Silver Falls Campground near Entiat, WA, offers a great opportunity for "camping near me" with the added bonus of a scenic and family-friendly hiking trail featuring views of waterfalls. The environment is generally pleasant, although visitors should be aware of a potential mosquito season. The campground offers a dry camping experience with no hookups, and it is best suited for smaller trailers, ideally 20 feet or less. Silver Falls Campground Reviews
The place is great with a small but pleasing hike. There's a season where the mosquitoes are insane, but for the most part it's pleasant. The hike is a circuit that has a few views of the waterfalls.
Jun 26, 2024 · Giovanni Antonio Asencio PadillaI hiked this many times as a kid. I forgot how beautiful the views are along the journey. My 70 year old mom was able to hike with us but she needed to take some breaks to recover from the climb. My 5 year old also enjoyed the hike. Excellent family hike option with many camping options nearby, though the campgrounds don’t cater to super long trailers. I would say ideal trailer size probably 20’ or less. All dry camping with no hookups.
Jun 20, 2023 · Kevin KnutsonGreat place to camp! It's 30 miles up the Entiat River road. We camped in site #26 and we think by far it's the best site. It's private and had plenty of space for kids to run up and down the road behind where we parked our 27ft trailer. The campground itself is pretty spread out. There's a visitor area when you first get there. People will use that to park their cars and hike up to silver falls. The first road after that takes you to the first set of camp spots. Plenty of area for tents and trailers. There's also an interpretive trail that's about 1.5 miles round trip which was fun to go on. The second road takes you to the group camping area and many other camping spot. This is where we stayed site #26.Silver falls is definitely something to go see while camping there. I did a trail running session on the 1.7 mile loop 3x which was awesome and a great way to get some elevation! Right when I got done with that the family and I hiked up to silver falls so we all could enjoy it. Take the kids and check it out.
Sep 18, 2019 · Nails ItSilver Falls is a great area to explore. The hike up the falls is full of hidden treasures. The area was burned out a few years ago, but it is no less beautiful.
Jul 19, 2021 · Ken MooreBig campsites, privacy & nice forest setting. Close to Silver Falls Trail (1.9 miles and 600ft elevation gain-highly recommended!). Water (pump) on lacation. Clean facilities.
