4.0
Ideally I'd go with 4.2 or 4.3 but since that's not an option, I'll go with 4.Stayed here 2 nights in July using PA discount. Site was tight to back into and was deep nested between trees. Dirt/gravel site. Close to bathhouse which had 2 private toilets and 2 private showers. Ramp was a little steep when walking in wet shoes.Pretty buggy in July. Lot of trees and shade. Road was gravel and then dirt/gravel.Lot of activities for campers. No campground sink. - L L

Covenant Hills Camp & Retreat Introduce

For local residents in and around Otisville, Michigan, searching for "camping near me," Covenant Hills Camp & Retreat, located at 10359 Farrand Rd, Otisville, MI 48463, USA, presents itself as a campground with a focus on activities and a natural, shaded environment. Based on customer reviews, this location offers a blend of wooded campsites and on-site recreational opportunities, making it a place that some campers return to annually.

The environment of Covenant Hills Camp & Retreat is characterized by a significant presence of trees, providing ample shade for campsites, as mentioned by multiple reviewers. This abundance of trees contributes to a natural and potentially cooler camping experience, particularly appealing during the warmer months. The terrain includes gravel roads and dirt/gravel campsites. One reviewer noted that some sites can be "tight to back into" and "deep nested between trees," suggesting a more rustic and integrated feel within the natural surroundings. While the reviews do not explicitly detail the broader landscape, the prevalence of trees indicates a wooded area typical of parts of Michigan. The presence of bugs, particularly biting black flies in July, is also mentioned, highlighting a natural aspect of camping in such an environment, and potential visitors should be prepared for insects.

Based on the customer reviews, we can gather information about some of the services and amenities offered at Covenant Hills Camp & Retreat. The campground has at least one bathhouse equipped with two private toilets and two private showers, which is a notable convenience for campers. Access to the bathhouse includes a ramp, although one reviewer pointed out that it could be a little steep when wet. It's also mentioned that there is "no campground sink," which might be relevant for washing dishes or other needs outside of the bathhouse facilities. The presence of a small camp store is noted by a recurring visitor, although they advise bringing everything you need, suggesting it might have limited supplies. The availability of a PA (presumably Passport America) discount was mentioned by one reviewer, indicating that the campground participates in camping discount programs. The fact that one camper stayed for two nights suggests that short-term stays are accommodated. To obtain a comprehensive list of services, including the availability of water and electrical hookups at campsites, laundry facilities, or specific details about the camp store, it is advisable to contact Covenant Hills Camp & Retreat directly using the provided phone numbers, (810) 631-4531 or +1 810-631-4531.

One of the standout features of Covenant Hills Camp & Retreat, according to a reviewer who returns annually, is the "lot of activities for campers." While the specific nature of these activities is not detailed in the provided reviews, this suggests that the campground offers more than just basic campsites. This could include recreational facilities, organized events, or programs for different age groups. The mention of a "retreat" in the campground's name also hints at the possibility of hosting group events or offering a more structured experience alongside general camping. The variety of activities likely contributes to the campground being a favored destination for repeat visitors. The clean and relatively nice-sized campsites are also highlighted as positive features by a long-term camper. However, the significant issue with biting black flies, particularly in July, is a notable feature of the camping experience here, and potential visitors during that time should be well-prepared with insect repellent. The "tight to back into" nature of some campsites and their deep nesting among trees might be seen as a feature by those seeking a more secluded and natural camping experience, but a challenge for those with larger RVs or less experience maneuvering in close spaces.

However, campgrounds often have seasonal specials, discounts for longer stays, or promotions related to their activities or events. Given that Covenant Hills Camp & Retreat seems to attract repeat visitors and mentions participation in the Passport America discount program, it is possible that they offer other discounts or loyalty programs. Local users interested in potential promotions should contact the campground directly using the provided phone numbers or check their website or social media pages if available. Inquiring about off-season rates or any special packages related to activities or group retreats might also be beneficial for local campers looking for a good value.

The positive feedback from a recurring visitor underscores the appeal of the clean campsites and the range of things to do.
