The environment at Dam Site Campground is consistently praised for its beauty. Situated near Heber Springs, campers can expect stunning views, likely overlooking or with easy access to the area's natural attractions, possibly Greers Ferry Lake, given the "Dam Site" name which often indicates proximity to a dam and its associated reservoir. One reviewer specifically mentioned an "amazing view" from their campsite. The presence of mature trees providing ample shade is another significant environmental feature, as highlighted by a camper who enjoyed an "H35" spot that was shaded all day. This is particularly appealing during the warmer months in Arkansas. The abundance of wildlife, such as squirrels and various birds, adds to the natural charm and provides opportunities for wildlife observation. While one review noted flooded water conditions during their visit, it also mentioned a "nice area back there to enjoy the water" under normal circumstances, suggesting the potential for water-based activities when conditions are favorable.
Dam Site Campground offers a range of services and amenities to accommodate different camping needs. The availability of both pull-through RV sites with hookups and tent sites without water or electric indicates a commitment to serving diverse camping styles. This allows campers with large RVs to have convenient access to necessary utilities, while those preferring a more rustic tent camping experience can find suitable spots as well. According to one review, the showers were "clean and worked as they should," which is an essential amenity for many campers. However, the same review pointed out an issue with the bathroom being frequently out of toilet paper during a weekend stay, suggesting a potential area for improvement in maintenance. Despite this, the overall cleanliness of the facilities seems to be a positive aspect. The spaciousness of the campsites, where they are "not on top of each other," is another notable service, providing campers with more privacy and a greater sense of immersion in nature.
One of the key features of Dam Site Campground is its location within a State Park, which often implies access to additional recreational opportunities and well-maintained natural areas. The review mentioning "You don't want to miss this State park" underscores this benefit. While specific activities within the campground are not detailed, being in a State Park near Heber Springs likely means proximity to hiking trails, fishing spots (potentially in Greers Ferry Lake or the Little Red River below the dam), and other outdoor recreation opportunities associated with the area's natural landscape. The variety of camping options, from full-service RV sites to primitive tent camping, is itself a significant feature, catering to different levels of camping comfort and experience. The shade provided by the trees, as mentioned in a positive review, is another valuable feature, especially during the hot Arkansas summers.

Dam Site Campground Reviews
Was wonderful as usual! The only thing that keeps me from leaving 5 stars (I would have left 4.5 but that wasn't an option) is the bathroom was out of toilet paper most of the weekend. Luckily we brought some so wasn't a disaster oranything. But the campsites aren't on top of each other and our view was amazing.
Oct 06, 2024 · Rachel WilliamsSo beautiful!! Love it here. Really enjoyed our spot "H35" it was shaded all day with just small areas that sun came through. My Vehicle was also in the shade. A few squirrels playing and coming up to visit in the mornings. So many birds to listen to and watch. The water was flooded so we didn't swim but there is a nice area back there to enjoy the water. We stayed two nights and would have stayed longer if we could have. Just a quick getaway. You don't want to miss this State park. There are every kind of camping from pull through spots for large RV's to tent with no water or electric. Oh, the showers were clean and worked as they should but watch the benches they are rusted metal that should have been replaced a few years ago by the looks of them.
May 13, 2022 · Annette VThere is no sewer connection. Other than that pretty standard campsite. Lots of swimming or boating as they have a marina . They also have clif jumping into thr lake from various heights. From 1 ft to what I would say was 30 plus ft. Be safe people.
Aug 17, 2024 · Jessy WhiteThe campgrounds are spacious, well maintained, and a great spot to camp. The restrooms and showers on site are clean and well maintained. The marina is wonderful and the staff at "The Dam Store" are friendly, helpful, and go out of their way to insure your time there is pleasant and enjoyable. One of my favorite places to visit. Highly recommend for a stress free, relaxing experience.
Nov 13, 2021 · Jason CrowBest campground on our whole 2 week camping trip through Arkansas and Tennessee! We were so lucky to find this place as we left the one we had reserved immediatley after being victims of COMPLETE false advertising (Blue Clouds RV Resort - Do NOT recommend!). We stayed in N Loop. Peaceful all sites are wooded, plenty of shade and trees. Quiet and relaxing. There was a trail across the street from our site that leads to a breathtaking view on the cliff of Greers Ferry Lake below!! Spacious sites with level pads and easy to get in and out. So many things to do within minutes of the campground. Swimming beach and lake access inside the campground, go anywhere there and set up for the day, swimming and fishing. Right outside the entrance is the Dam Site Marina and public swimming area. Beautiful lake!! Crystal clear, cold water. Kids could jump off the rocks - VERY deep lake! All the day use areas and other parks in the area, including JFK State Park on the river. Fish hatchery and TROUT jumping out of the water all day long! Go FISHING!! I cannot say enough great things about this park and location. If you are looking for a perfect place to take your family even for a weekend if you are close by.
