The environment at Devils Fork Recreation Area is undoubtedly its premier feature. As corroborated by multiple visitor reviews, the park is "beautiful," with a prime location directly adjacent to Greers Ferry Lake. This large and clear lake offers a multitude of recreational opportunities, including swimming, boating, fishing, and simply enjoying the scenic waterfront. The presence of "tree coverage" is also noted as a significant benefit, providing a welcome escape from the Arkansas heat, particularly during the summer months. Campers can expect to be surrounded by the natural beauty of the Ozark foothills, with mature trees offering shade and contributing to a pleasant outdoor atmosphere. The lake itself provides stunning views and the soothing sounds of water, enhancing the overall camping experience. The air is likely fresh and clean, offering a refreshing break from urban environments.
The services and features at Devils Fork Recreation Area appear to cater well to RV campers and those seeking a comfortable camping experience. A key feature highlighted in the reviews is the availability of "water and electric" hookups at many campsites. This is a significant convenience for RVs, allowing for the use of onboard appliances and ensuring a comfortable stay. However, it's important to note, as mentioned by a reviewer, that the "water hook ups are some distance from the site in some lots," so bringing an "extra hose" is advisable to ensure a connection. The campground also offers "large and level- paved" campsites, which are ideal for RVs, providing a stable and clean parking surface. The spaciousness of the sites allows for "plenty of room to park a boat trailer" on the majority of them, catering specifically to those planning to enjoy boating activities on Greers Ferry Lake.
While the reviews don't explicitly detail other campground services like restroom and shower facilities, it's reasonable to expect these basic amenities at a developed recreation area. The cleanliness and quality of these facilities can often be a key factor in camper satisfaction, and while not directly mentioned, they are typically a standard offering at such locations. The mention of a "beach" area, described as "an old boat launch with some sand beside it on either side," suggests designated access to the lake for swimming and potentially launching small watercraft. The "clear" water of the lake further enhances the appeal for swimming and other water-based activities. The fact that visitors were able to "beach the boat right in front of the site" from some locations indicates premium lakefront access and convenience for boaters.
The layout of the campsites, with sites being "spaced apart from the neighboring sites," is another notable feature, offering a degree of privacy and a less crowded feel compared to some more tightly packed campgrounds. This spacing also contributes to the ease of parking and maneuvering RVs and boat trailers. The availability of "electric hook-up" allowed one reviewer to test their RV's tank capacity, indicating that while water hookups might be shared or require longer hoses, essential electrical service is provided. It's worth noting that while "lots of the sights do have water connections," the shared nature and distance might necessitate careful planning and the aforementioned longer hose.
Promotional information for Devils Fork Recreation Area is not explicitly provided in the given text. To discover any potential discounts, seasonal rates, or special offers, local users would need to contact the recreation area directly using the provided phone numbers or visit the website of the managing entity, which could be the U.S. Army Corps of Engineers since Greers Ferry Lake is a Corps of Engineers project. Websites or direct phone inquiries might reveal information about off-season rates, senior discounts, or any packages that might be available. In conclusion, Devils Fork Recreation Area offers a compelling "camping near me" option for local residents seeking a lakeside retreat on the beautiful Greers Ferry Lake. The environment is characterized by stunning lake views, mature tree coverage providing shade, and clear waters ideal for swimming and boating. The campground features spacious and level paved campsites, many with water and electric hookups, although a longer water hose may be necessary for some sites. The spacing between sites offers a degree of privacy, and the direct lake access from some sites is a significant advantage for boaters. While specific details about all amenities and promotional offers require direct inquiry or online research, the positive reviews highlight the beauty of the park and the convenience of the lakeside camping experience. For a memorable "camping near me" adventure centered around one of Arkansas's premier lakes, Devils Fork Recreation Area is definitely worth exploring.

Devils Fork Recreation Area Reviews
The park is beautiful. Water and electric. Bring extra hose with you the water hook ups are some distance from the site in some lots. The lot size was large and level- paved. Get a site on the lake side - you won’t be disappointed! The “beach” appears to be an old boat launch with some sand beside it on either side. The water was clear. It was 102 when we were the Sept.2024- the tree coverage made a nice escape but still HOT! 🥵 lake- swim in the lake!
Sep 21, 2024 · Amber VandersnelSites were spaced apart from the neighboring sites to allow plenty of room to park a boat trailer on the majority that we observed. This was our first trip with the RV, and since our site only had electric hook-up, we were able to test out how to best use our tank capacity. Lots of the sights do have water connections, but I noticed the connection was shared between sites, and because of the distance between, a longer hose may be needed. The view of Greers Ferry Lake was absolutely amazing from our site! We were able to beach the boat right in front of the site, which was extra convenient.
Jun 08, 2023 · J petersThe recreation areas are great! There's a lifejacket station at the swim beach (first come, first served), and playground, and multiple points of lake access. I could see how this place would be super busy during peak season. My only negative was the rude people next to us and no hand washing station at the bathroom.
Oct 06, 2024 · Angela GrimesNice place. When we were there no mosquitoes, no flies, nothing but the wind from the lake. Clean camp ground. Only a few spots got water hook ups. There is a dump station. Playground for the kids and places to fish. Still the same old campground. October 2023 lake is very low.
Oct 21, 2023 · chad skabronskiVery nice Recreation Area with several places to load/launch watercraft at the tournament center. Huge parking lot and nice campgrounds with a swimming area and bathrooms.
