Encore Pioneer Village Introduce
For local users searching for 'camping near me' in the North Fort Myers, Florida area (zip code 33917), Encore Pioneer Village, located at 7974 Samville Rd, North Fort Myers, FL 33917, presents itself as an option. With a listed phone number of (239) 543-3303 or +1 239-543-3303, it appears to be an RV park offering various amenities. However, it is crucial for potential local users to consider recent customer reviews to gain an accurate understanding of the current environment, services, and features of this facility.
Based on the limited but strongly worded recent feedback available online, the overall sentiment regarding Encore Pioneer Village is significantly negative. Multiple concerns have been raised by recent guests, indicating potential issues that local users should be aware of before considering a stay here. These concerns span various aspects of the campground experience, including the staff, the physical condition of the property, and the overall management.
One recurring theme in the reviews is negative feedback regarding the office staff. One reviewer explicitly states that the "office staff is rude!!" This is a serious concern as the office staff is often the first point of contact and plays a crucial role in ensuring a smooth and pleasant stay for guests. Rudeness from staff can detract significantly from the overall camping experience and may indicate broader issues with customer service and management.
The physical environment of Encore Pioneer Village is also a significant point of concern. The property is described as a "dump" that "stinks" and "looks horrible." Such strong language suggests that the aesthetic appeal and possibly the cleanliness of the campground may be severely lacking. These comments raise questions about the upkeep and maintenance of the grounds, which can impact the comfort and enjoyment of guests. The observation of a person "climbing through the dumpsters… more than once!" further contributes to a negative perception of the environment and potentially raises concerns about security or the general state of the property.
Several alerts regarding essential services appear to be a frequent occurrence at Encore Pioneer Village. Guests report "always getting alerts that the water, electric, pool, bathrooms ect. are being “worked” on." This suggests potential unreliability in the basic amenities that RV parks typically provide. Frequent disruptions to water, electricity, pool access, and bathroom facilities can lead to significant inconvenience and frustration for campers, impacting their ability to enjoy their stay comfortably.
One reviewer shared a particularly negative experience involving a long-term arrangement and the sale of a trailer on the property. This individual reported a "worst experience!!!" related to buying a trailer for a nephew as a permanent residence. Furthermore, they claimed that the office staff gave them "the run around & denied every buyer (without explanation)" when they tried to sell the empty trailer while still paying lot rent. This paints a picture of difficult and uncooperative management, particularly concerning long-term tenants or those dealing with property sales within the park.
The relationship between the realtor and the office staff is described as one of mutual "hate," which is an unusual and concerning detail. Such internal conflict can often spill over and negatively affect the experiences of guests and residents. It suggests a potentially dysfunctional management environment that may not prioritize the well-being and satisfaction of those staying at the park.
The first reviewer explicitly advises others to "SAVE YOUR MONEY & TIME!!!! Don’t be fooled by the old, nice pictures on the website!" This strongly suggests that the current reality of Encore Pioneer Village may not align with the marketing materials presented online, indicating a potential discrepancy between expectations set by the website and the actual conditions of the campground.
Another reviewer, who booked through Thousand Trails, also reported significant issues upon arrival. Despite providing the size of their RV equipment in advance, the site they were initially assigned was inaccessible due to a tree, and even if they had managed to navigate past it, the site was too small to accommodate their RV's slides. While a "very nice" maintenance lady eventually escorted them to a barely suitable site, this incident highlights organizational problems and a lack of attention to booking details based on the size of the incoming RVs.
This second reviewer also noted that the park felt "unorganized" and the sites were "too close," potentially impacting privacy and the overall sense of space for campers. Furthermore, they recounted a negative interaction with a long-term tenant who aggressively confronted them about their dog, as well as witnessing a neighbor having a mental breakdown that scared their children. These incidents suggest potential issues with the community environment and the management's ability to ensure a safe and comfortable atmosphere for all guests.
The second reviewer also claimed that the park treats guests differently based on how they book and pay, with Thousand Trails guests not receiving the same treatment as long-term leaseholders. This perceived disparity in treatment can lead to dissatisfaction and a feeling of being undervalued as a guest. Consequently, this reviewer, a Thousand Trails member, opted to move to another, much nicer Encore park in South Florida, explicitly recommending that other Thousand Trails members consider alternative options in the area.
Considering these recent and detailed negative reviews, local users searching for 'camping near me' in North Fort Myers should exercise extreme caution when considering Encore Pioneer Village. The reported rudeness of staff, poor physical condition of the property, frequent disruptions to amenities, organizational issues, and potential disparities in guest treatment paint a concerning picture. While the campground may have been different in the past (as suggested by the mention of "old, nice pictures" online), the current experiences of recent guests strongly indicate significant problems.
Therefore, based on the available recent customer feedback, Encore Pioneer Village cannot be recommended to local users at this time. The numerous serious issues raised suggest that a stay here may be unpleasant and potentially problematic. Local campers are advised to thoroughly research other campgrounds and RV parks in the North Fort Myers area to find options that offer better service, facilities, and a more positive overall experience. It would be prudent to look for campgrounds with consistently positive recent reviews that highlight well-maintained facilities, friendly and helpful staff, and a welcoming environment for all guests.

Had it up for sale (paying the lot rent the entire time as it sat empty) the office staff gave me the run around & denied every buyer (without explanation) SAVE YOUR MONEY & TIME!!!! Apr 12, 2025 · Lynn K. (Lynn k.)We told this RV park the size of our equipment when we booked through thousands trails so they had this info before our arrival however as you can see in the photos posted the site they assigned us I could not even get to. Our 5th wheel and truck could not get past the tree and even if we managed to do that, the site we were assigned would not have had any room to extend our 3 slides. We went to the office and a maintenance lady whom was very nice, came and escorted us to a site we could fit in (Although Barely). Park is unorganized and sites are too close. A few days later when the weather was better we ventured out with out St Bernard for a walk and This long term tenant in one of the mobile homes on the property came outside and headed towards us in a aggressive manner. Yelling about our dog peeing on her grass. I know this is a subject of debate about dogs using the bathroom and we are good dog owners we are always ready to clean up after him and he is friendly. We meant no disrespect but she was aggressive so we walked away yelling she was complaining to the Park office. So that is what she did and not to mention a neighbor the night before having a mental breakdown and me needing to usher my kids inside because they were scared of this guy. So my wife gets on the phone with Thousand Trails, Which is who we booked this park with and she was talking to the manager who stated that we are a problem starting with us having to switch sites because we couldn't fit. That wasn't our fault and of course this lady was up front complaining. Although I'm sure she never mentioned her aggressiveness towards park guests. This park treats guests differently depending on how you arrive and pay. Thousand Trails guests are not treated the same way and a long term lease guest. Its disappointing. Thousand trails has been great and moved us to another park right away that's much nicer. If your a Thousand Trails member there are much better encore parks in the south Florida area.
Jan 25, 2025 · Justin DixonTrash. We have a 32 ft RV and it was a mission to go through the streets. Parking was door to door. A bunch of cars just parking on the side of the streets, making it more of a mission to park. Park looks abandoned and dirty. Luckily we were just parking the RV without having to stay there. Otherwise, we would’ve turned right back around.
Feb 26, 2025 · Yadira MartinezThe roads are a little small, but once you get your RV on site, they seem to have a lot of fun going on there something always going at the clubhouse
Apr 16, 2025 · Jeff ThompsonThe roads are very narrow. I am glad they escorted us to our spot. It was tough to get in. It’s like a trailer park and they squeeze RVs in between them. The staff is amazing. Everybody here is so nice they’re still cleaning up after the hurricane. But it is a nice quiet place. I have not heard no noise from the road at all and my dogs are really enjoying the dog park. Will try it again next year.
