Encore Vacation Village Introduce
For local residents in the Largo, Florida area searching within the "camping near me" category, Encore Vacation Village, located at 6900 Ulmerton Rd, Largo, FL 33771, USA, presents itself as a potential option. You can reach them by phone at (727) 531-5589 or via their mobile number at +1 727-531-5589. As part of the Encore Thousand Trails network, this park caters to RV travelers and potentially offers extended stay options. However, based on the available customer reviews, it's crucial for local users to consider both the positive and negative feedback to form a comprehensive understanding of what this campground offers.
Regarding the environment of Encore Vacation Village, the limited information presents a mixed picture. One reviewer, an Encore Thousand Trails member, praised the upkeep of the park, suggesting a degree of maintenance and care. They specifically noted being provided with a site large enough to accommodate a 44’ toy hauler. This implies that the park offers spacious sites suitable for larger RVs. Furthermore, this reviewer reported "zero issues with power, water, or sewer," indicating reliable essential utilities at their site. The mention of friendly staff, such as Leslie and Archie in the office, contributes to a potentially positive and welcoming atmosphere.
However, a contrasting review paints a less favorable picture of the environment. This customer described their experience as the "worst" at a "resort," citing a site with a view of a gas station across the main road. This suggests that site quality and views may vary significantly within the park. The reviewer also reported significant noise pollution, including sirens "all day and night," traffic, gunshots, engine revving, and a screaming neighbor. These issues indicate a potentially noisy environment that could detract from a relaxing camping experience. Furthermore, this reviewer described the grounds as "dirty," with "dog feces everywhere" and "unkempt permanent trailers," suggesting potential issues with overall cleanliness and the appearance of some areas within the park. The mention of emergency services visiting the park twice, including a drunk driver hit and run in front of their rig, raises concerns about safety and the general atmosphere.
In terms of services, the positive review highlights the provision of essential utilities (power, water, sewer) without any issues. The mention of Archie in the office handling package pickups and offering coffee suggests some level of guest service and convenience. The friendly interaction with maintenance staff member Mike also points towards a helpful and approachable team. As part of the Encore Thousand Trails network, it's likely that Encore Vacation Village offers amenities common to such parks, which could include laundry facilities, restrooms, showers, and possibly recreational facilities like a swimming pool or clubhouse. However, the negative review does not corroborate these potential services and instead focuses on the undesirable aspects of the stay.
The features of Encore Vacation Village seem to be centered around accommodating RVs, particularly larger ones, as evidenced by the 44’ toy hauler site. Being part of the Encore Thousand Trails network is a significant feature, potentially offering benefits and access to members. The presence of staff mentioned by name (Leslie, Archie, Mike) suggests a personal touch in some interactions. However, the stark contrast in reviews highlights the inconsistency in the experience. The negative review points to features that detract from a positive stay, such as proximity to a busy road and potentially less desirable long-term residents contributing to an "unkempt" feel.
From a promotional standpoint for local users, Encore Vacation Village might appeal to those who are already members of the Encore Thousand Trails network, offering them a familiar option within the Largo area. The reported availability of large sites could be a draw for RV owners with bigger rigs. The positive mention of reliable utilities is also a selling point for RVers. However, it is crucial for local users to weigh these potential benefits against the serious concerns raised in the negative review regarding noise, cleanliness, and safety. The proximity to Ulmerton Road, a potentially busy thoroughfare, could be a contributing factor to the noise issues reported.
Given the significant discrepancy in the two available reviews, it is difficult to provide a definitive and universally positive introduction to Encore Vacation Village for local users. The positive review suggests a well-maintained park with good infrastructure and friendly staff, at least in some areas and interactions. On the other hand, the negative review paints a picture of a noisy, unclean, and potentially unsafe environment. This stark contrast indicates that the experience at Encore Vacation Village may be highly variable, possibly depending on the specific site assigned, the time of year, or other factors not mentioned in the reviews.
For local users considering Encore Vacation Village based on its "camping near me" listing, it is strongly recommended to conduct further research beyond these two reviews. This could include looking for additional reviews on other platforms, checking the official Encore Thousand Trails website for information and photos of this specific location, and potentially even visiting the park in person to assess the environment and amenities before making a decision. It would also be prudent to inquire about site availability and request a site away from busy roads or potentially problematic areas if choosing to stay here.
In conclusion, Encore Vacation Village in Largo, Florida, presents a mixed picture for local users seeking camping options. While one review highlights positive aspects such as site size, utility reliability, and friendly staff, another describes a significantly negative experience characterized by noise, uncleanliness, and safety concerns. As such, local users should approach this campground with caution and conduct thorough due diligence before booking a stay to ensure it meets their expectations for a comfortable and enjoyable camping experience within their local area.

Encore Vacation Village Reviews
Leslie and her staff do a very nice job with the upkeep of this park. We are Encore Thousand Trails members and were provided with a site that was big enough for our 44’ toy hauler. We had zero issues with power, water, or sewer. Archie in the office is a pip, and a treasure to speak whenever I had a package to pickup, or grab a cup of coffee. Mike in maintenance was also very nice to talk to!
Dec 16, 2024 · Joseph CraigI guess everyone has different standards, but this was the worst experience at a "resort" yet. Site had view of the gas station across the main road. Sirens all day and night, along with traffic, gun shots, engine revving, young men walking around at night, screaming neighbor, ambulance visited the park twice and one of those was a drunk driver hit and run in front of our rig. The grounds were dirty, dog feces everywhere, and unkempt permanent trailers. This was such a stressful stay, we obviously will never go back.
Jan 05, 2025 · The Traveling BrownsLeslie the park manager is amazing! She'll do anything she can to make your stay great. Clean and quiet park.
Dec 31, 2024 · blue faeryOverall a good place. My kids LOVE it and it's a great location.
Apr 30, 2025 · Mr. Survival ManLeslie stayed with us the entire time we were wating on a tow truck for our RV when we broke down at the entrance before Vacation Village & we were blocking traffic. She changed our site to make it easier for the tow truck to get us in. She is so kind & would do anything within reason to make your stay memorable. The residents & campers are just the best well-mannered pet owners. It's a beautiful park with shaded lots & pond. Pickle ball & volleyball courts. Cornhole, shuffleboard, & pool with gas & charcoal grills to use. And a community center for activities during the winter months. Love it here.
