In the case of Erie KOA Holiday, one review paints a concerning picture. This reviewer describes a negative experience with the owners, Jamie and Sharon, citing feelings of being unwelcome, constant surveillance, and what they perceived as rude and unprofessional behavior regarding campground rules. The reviewer also recounts an alleged aggressive encounter with one of the owners after their husband had left the site, expressing significant dissatisfaction and stating they left the campground early. This individual strongly advises against visiting, labeling the place as not kid-friendly and suggesting it reflects poorly on both the owners and the KOA franchise.

Erie KOA Holiday Reviews
The owners Jamie and Sharon made this the worst camping experience for our family! I have never felt so unwelcome to be camping. Jamie and Sharon always were watching us, and it made the experience scary. They were extremely rude and unprofessional when they had to tell us not to pick up sticks from the forest for our fire & that our children couldn’t ride their bikes on the grass. We were so dissatisfied with this place, that we left early. Jamie waited until my husband left the site and then aggressively attacked me, in front of three children. They know people are hours away from their house, and they can aggressively use their authority. They use their authority inappropriately, and to ridicule and disrespect the guests. My husband and myself both work in community service, and are baffled that people would treat others in this way. They are ruining family camping for anyone that visits this place. This place is not kid friendly. Erie, PA is loosing business because of these owners and KOA needs to have better standards for there franchise.
Apr 28, 2025 · Marianna LaniganGreat location for travel. Management is excellent! Very friendly and personable! Been here four years in a row. Continues to expand and make everyone comfortable.Job well done. Clean. And well maintained.Close to hwy to get off and on!
Apr 18, 2025 · Janice NairnVery nice place. Very meticulously kept landscaping. It rained the day we arrived. I pulled into the wrong spot and k-turned into my spot. It was muddy and I upset a grassy area in the corner of the driveway. About 5 minutes later the manager came out and continuously brow beat me for a good 15 minutes. I offered to rake it. I offered to buy sod. I offered cash. I guess he just wanted to make me feel small for making a mistake. It's a lovely place, just don't screw up.
Apr 22, 2025 · Tim DuBoisFor the love of everything that is, do not stay here.I’m genuinely surprised to see this place is still operating under Sharon and Jamie. How KOA hasn’t pulled their branding from this absolute dumpster fire of a place, or at the very least told Sharon to get some therapy to help her with the many issues she CLEARLY has, is beyond me.If you come here, don’t expect a vacation. Expect a boot camp with 100 rules strictly enforced. And if you give any indication that you don’t like the rules, don’t like Sharon, or just breathe in a way Sharon doesn’t like, you’re going to get screamed at and vilified like you just stomped on her dog or something. I understand the need for rules. But it’s a campground. Where people go to relax and have fun. And when SHARON is the only one disturbing the peace…We heard Sharon SCREAMING at our neighbors around midnight. Why? Because I guess they were too loud. Funny, because the only loud mouth that woke me and my partner up was Sharon. If you have children or want to have any fun whatsoever, save your money (because you’ll probably be kicked out with no refund if you do come and upset Sharon anyway) and go somewhere that actually cares about the people who stay there. I’ve gotten treated better at a dingy motel than I did this KOA. Please, stay away from here until Sharon and Jamie are GONE.
Apr 21, 2025 · RickIf I could give -5 stars I would. While on a trip I desperately needed to use the bathroom. This was the only place off the highway. We pulled into the KOA in Sterrettania we ask a man working in the campground if we could use the bathroom he didn’t want to let me. I explained someday he will be old too! He told me where it was. While using the toilet some woman came rushing in screaming at me this was for paying members only!! Then I said I was desperate she screamed at me I better not mess it up she just cleaned in there. I said I would never do that.Someday she will be 72 and I hope she never finds a toilet. We have camped many times at KOA’s and have never been treated so bad. We belong to a privet camp ground in our own state and they would never treat someone like that.
