Based on the available customer reviews, the environment of Folly's End Campground is characterized by a friendly and welcoming atmosphere. One reviewer specifically mentioned that "people were so friendly" and the "young man at the office was very nice." This suggests a community-oriented and hospitable setting. The campground's willingness to accommodate tents, unlike some RV parks, broadens its appeal to various types of campers. While one review notes that it's "not the Hilton," implying a more rustic or basic environment, the overall impression from the positive review is that it offers a pleasurable outdoor experience. The location in Girard, Pennsylvania, suggests proximity to the natural landscapes of the region, although specific environmental details like woods, lakes, or other features are not explicitly mentioned. For those searching within the "camping near me" category who value a friendly atmosphere and the option to tent camp, Folly's End Campground appears to be a viable consideration.
The services at Folly's End Campground include restrooms and showers, which are noted to be clean, even if the campground is not luxurious. The availability of water, electricity, and sewer hookups is also mentioned, indicating that the campground caters to RVs as well. The helpfulness of the staff is highlighted by the positive review, where the office personnel provided all the necessary information. However, it's important to note that Wi-Fi is not available, and cell phone reception appears to be limited, with no reception for Xfinity/Verizon and only on-and-off reception for T-Mobile. This lack of connectivity might be a consideration for some campers who rely on internet access. Despite this, the provision of essential utilities and clean facilities suggests a functional and adequate level of service for a camping stay.
Folly's End Campground has a few notable features that might appeal to those looking for "camping near me." Its welcoming attitude towards tent campers sets it apart from some RV-centric parks. The friendly nature of the people, both staff and presumably other campers, contributes to a positive experience. The affordability, as mentioned by one reviewer ("The price was really good"), could be a significant draw for budget-conscious travelers. The provision of water, electricity, and sewer hookups caters to the needs of RV owners. While the absence of Wi-Fi and limited cell service might be a drawback for some, it could also be seen as a feature for those wanting a more disconnected and immersive outdoor experience. The willingness of the reviewer to "definitely give this a second try" speaks to a generally positive overall impression, despite the basic nature of the facilities.
Currently, there is no specific promotional information available for Folly's End Campground. However, the positive review mentioning a "really good" price suggests that it might offer a more budget-friendly option compared to some other campgrounds or RV parks in the area. For local users seeking "camping near me" on a budget, this could be an attractive feature. To inquire about current rates, availability, or any potential discounts, it is recommended to contact them directly via phone.
In summary, Folly's End Campground in Girard, PA, offers a friendly and affordable "camping near me" experience that welcomes both tent and RV campers. While described as not luxurious, the restrooms and showers are clean, and essential utilities like water, electricity, and sewer are available. The helpful staff and welcoming atmosphere contribute to a pleasurable stay. The lack of Wi-Fi and limited cell service should be considered depending on individual needs. For local campers looking for a budget-friendly and friendly option that accommodates various camping styles, Folly's End Campground is worth considering. Folly's End Campground Reviews
We stayed for a weekend. People were so friendly. The young man at the office was very nice and gave us all the information we needed. The price was really good. Some RV parks won't let tents but this one welcomes you. It's not the Hilton but the restrooms and showers are clean. I would definitely give this a second try. Very pleasurable experience.
Jul 30, 2024 · Carol SemoNot my cup of tea, so to speak. Needs a lot of work. Water electricity and sewer worked fine. Didn't use the facilities. No WiFi and no Xfinity/Verizon reception. T-Mobile on and off reception.
Jun 22, 2023 · Randy CaputoAmazing experience! We went to Folly’s End Campground after being scammed in another site. Jim was amazing looking for a place for me to stay with my wife which allowed us to see the 2024 eclipse. The only thing that’s important to know in this review is that the place is awesome and Jim is an amazing person! Thanks for having us and we will be back soon!
Apr 08, 2024 · Daniel Piloto PratesThis place is what steelheading is all about. Everything you need, nothing you don’t; great fly shop, and stream side access. Jim is always helpful and kind. Nothing bougie, just a real fishing camp for real folks.
Nov 12, 2023 · Galen WestmanMy boyfriend and I stayed here on our way back to NH after a trip to Yellowstone back in June. The owner made us feel so welcome and even gave us spots to choose from. Our spot was in the forest and was nice and secluded with a really cool creek behind us. Plus everything was so affordable. The campground we went before claimed it was $20 but ended up being $55 after all the fees, here we paid $20 with no hidden fees and we were so grateful. We would highly recommend camping here!!!
