Fontainebleau Cabins Introduce
For local users in Louisiana and those in neighboring states seeking a memorable "camping near me" experience with the added comfort of cabin accommodations, Fontainebleau Cabins, located at 23096-27984 Group Camp Rd, Mandeville, LA 70448, USA, offers a wonderful retreat. Situated within Fontainebleau State Park, these cabins provide a unique opportunity to enjoy the natural beauty of the area with the conveniences of a well-equipped lodging. The park itself is known for its stunning location along the shores of Lake Pontchartrain, promising picturesque views and a variety of outdoor activities.
The environment surrounding Fontainebleau Cabins is a key aspect of its appeal. Being located within Fontainebleau State Park, guests are immersed in the natural landscape of coastal Louisiana. This includes the expansive views of Lake Pontchartrain, which offers breathtaking sunsets every evening, as highlighted by a satisfied visitor. The park also features diverse ecosystems, likely including marshlands, woodlands, and sandy beaches along the lakefront. This variety supports a range of wildlife and provides opportunities for nature walks, birdwatching, and enjoying the outdoors. The cabins' proximity to the lake enhances the overall ambiance, offering a tranquil and scenic backdrop for a relaxing getaway. The natural light and fresh air contribute to a refreshing escape from urban life.
The services and features of Fontainebleau Cabins appear to be designed for comfort and convenience. One reviewer described the cabins as "minimalistic" yet "attractive," suggesting a focus on essential amenities without unnecessary clutter. A significant feature is the inclusion of a "full kitchen," allowing guests the flexibility to prepare their own meals, which can be particularly appealing for longer stays or those with dietary preferences. The provision of "good, solid furniture" and "comfortable beds" ensures a restful experience indoors. Additionally, the cabins are equipped with practical necessities such as "towels, soaps etc.," simplifying packing for guests. The fact that the cabins are "well heated" indicates that they are suitable for cooler months, providing a cozy and comfortable environment regardless of the season.
A standout feature of the Fontainebleau Cabins is the "wonderful outdoor porch out over Lake Pontchartrain." This private outdoor space, furnished with "rockers and table & chairs," offers an ideal spot for relaxation, enjoying the lake views, and witnessing the spectacular sunsets. The porch effectively extends the living space of the cabin, allowing guests to fully appreciate the waterfront location. The combination of a full kitchen and a comfortable outdoor area makes these cabins particularly well-suited for families or groups wanting a blend of indoor and outdoor living. While one reviewer mentioned a minor issue with the air conditioning not being strong enough, the overall impression of the cabin's amenities is positive.
Promotional information is conveyed through the enthusiastic reviews from guests. The fact that one visitor from Minnesota has made a second trip specifically to this state park and chose to upgrade to a cabin for three nights after tent camping highlights the positive impression of Fontainebleau and its cabin accommodations. Their description of the experience as "wonderful" speaks volumes about the overall satisfaction. The second reviewer's strong recommendation, "Will return !", further acts as a powerful endorsement, indicating a high likelihood of repeat business due to a positive experience. The description of the cabins as "reasonably priced" is also a significant promotional point, suggesting good value for the amenities and location offered.
While one reviewer noted a couple of "small quality issues," such as the air conditioning not being sufficiently strong and a deck board coming loose, it's important to consider that these appear to be minor drawbacks in an otherwise highly positive experience. Such issues are not uncommon in rental properties and should be viewed in the context of the overall positive feedback regarding the cabins' comfort, amenities, and location. Addressing these minor maintenance concerns would likely further enhance the guest experience.
For local users seeking "camping near me" with a step up in comfort from traditional tent camping, Fontainebleau Cabins offer an attractive option. The combination of a scenic lakeside location within a state park, well-equipped cabins with full kitchens and comfortable furnishings, and the added bonus of a private outdoor porch makes for a relaxing and enjoyable getaway. The positive reviews, particularly the intention of repeat visits and the description of the pricing as reasonable, suggest that these cabins provide a valuable and satisfying experience for those looking to enjoy the natural beauty of Lake Pontchartrain and Fontainebleau State Park without sacrificing the comforts of home.
In conclusion, Fontainebleau Cabins present a compelling "camping near me" choice for local users in Louisiana seeking a lakeside retreat. The cabins offer a minimalistic yet attractive design, equipped with full kitchens, comfortable beds, and essential amenities. The standout feature of a private porch overlooking Lake Pontchartrain, coupled with the opportunity to witness stunning sunsets, creates a memorable experience. While minor maintenance issues were noted by one reviewer, the overall feedback emphasizes the wonderful and reasonably priced nature of these cabins, making them a strong contender for those wanting a comfortable and scenic escape within Fontainebleau State Park.

Fontainebleau Cabins Reviews
This is our second trip from MN to this state park. We tent camped two nights and then spoiled ourselves with three nights in a cabin. It was wonderful. Perfect sunsets every night. A few small quality issues like A/C not strong enough and a deck board fell off in the water while we were down there.
Mar 14, 2025 · Milan HomolaA minimalistic , attractive cabin that has everything you need. Good, solid furniture, comfortable beds, towels, soaps etc. full kitchen, plus a wonderful outdoor porch out over Lake Pontchartrain with rockers and table & chairs. Well heated. Reasonably priced. Will return !
Jan 13, 2025 · Darlene KReally excellent cabins. Over the water. Cozy. Lots of amenities. Really helpful park staff.
Jan 13, 2025 · Banks DixonNature wise... it's wonderful. There is a ton of native wildlife and the terrain is beautiful. I love to bring my boys here and we visit often. We do try to go only on weekdays though. On weekends in the summer months it gets extremely packed with mostly Hispanic people who play Mexican music very very loudly. It can be pretty obnoxious. Not much respect for the fact that not everyone else wants to listen to that and only that. Also I wish they allowed leashed dogs on the beach. Our pup loves to swim with the kids. Perfect place for bridal photos or family photos especially at sunset. Beach does have some glass among the cypress tree roots so please be careful.
Apr 21, 2019 · ari tBeautiful cabins on the water! The place was very clean and feels very homely. This place has a playground, nature trails and historic sites to visit and learn about. It also has a lovely beach to hang out on. There is also camping available for campers, tents or you can rent out a new tentr site. A nice place to spend the weekend with family. Only con is finding a cabin availability. They always seem to be booked.
