Foster Bar Campground Introduce
For local residents seeking a tranquil "camping near me" experience in the scenic Agness, Oregon area, Foster Bar Campground, located on Agness Illahe Rd, Agness, OR 97406, USA, offers an attractive option for a riverside getaway. You can reach the campground at (541) 247-3600 or +1 541-247-3600 for inquiries and potential reservations. Based on recent customer feedback, this campground boasts a beautiful and quiet environment with convenient river access, making it a desirable destination for nature lovers and those seeking a peaceful retreat.
The environment of Foster Bar Campground is consistently praised for its beauty. The campground features "lots of tree coverage," suggesting that campsites are well-shaded and offer a sense of being immersed in the natural woodland. This is ideal for those who appreciate a cooler camping experience, especially during warmer months, and enjoy the ambiance of a forested setting. A significant environmental feature is the "easy access to the river," which implies opportunities for various water-related activities such as fishing, swimming (if permitted and safe), or simply enjoying the sights and sounds of the flowing water. The overall atmosphere is described as "very quiet," making it a perfect escape for those seeking a serene and relaxing camping experience away from the noise of more developed areas.
In terms of services, Foster Bar Campground offers a mix of newer and more basic amenities. The presence of "newer bathroom facilities" is a definite plus, although one reviewer noted that they were "not well maintained." This suggests that while the infrastructure is relatively recent, the upkeep might not always be consistent, so visitors should be prepared for potentially less-than-spotless conditions. However, the availability of any newer facilities is still generally preferable to older, less functional ones. A significant convenience is the presence of "running water at the campground," which is essential for drinking, cooking, and basic hygiene. Additionally, for those planning to bring boats or engage in water activities requiring a launch, there are "dumpsters down by the boat launch" for waste disposal, indicating that boaters are catered to as well. The campground also offers good-sized campsites, providing ample space for tents, RVs, and outdoor gear.
A notable feature of Foster Bar Campground is its location, despite being slightly challenging to find. The campground is situated down a "one lane road with pull offs," which means that navigating to the site requires some caution and awareness of oncoming traffic. This somewhat secluded access, however, likely contributes to the quiet and peaceful atmosphere once you arrive. The easy access to the river is a major feature, allowing campers to readily enjoy the waterfront. The combination of wooded campsites and river access makes it an attractive destination for a variety of outdoor interests. Furthermore, the campground's affordability is a significant feature, with a reported cost of only "$10 per night." This low nightly fee makes Foster Bar Campground an excellent option for budget-conscious travelers and local users looking for an affordable "camping near me" experience without sacrificing natural beauty and essential amenities.
Based on the limited information, there are no specific promotional offers or discounts mentioned for Foster Bar Campground. Its primary appeal seems to be its natural beauty, quiet environment, river access, and affordability at just $10 per night. This low price point itself could be considered a form of promotion, making it an accessible option for a wide range of campers. Local users might find this combination of natural setting and low cost particularly attractive for weekend getaways or longer stays. To inquire about any potential seasonal rates or extended stay discounts, it would be best to contact the campground directly at the provided phone numbers.
In conclusion, Foster Bar Campground offers a compelling "camping near me" option for those in the Agness, Oregon area seeking a riverside retreat. Its beautiful, wooded campsites provide a tranquil setting, and the easy access to the river opens up opportunities for various water activities. While the newer bathroom facilities may have some maintenance issues, the presence of running water and the convenient boat launch with dumpsters are valuable amenities. The somewhat secluded access down a one-lane road contributes to the campground's quiet atmosphere. Perhaps the most attractive feature is the very affordable nightly rate of $10. Local users looking for a budget-friendly camping experience in a beautiful natural environment with river access should definitely consider Foster Bar Campground. It is recommended to call ahead to confirm availability and to inquire about any specific site details or potential road conditions on the way to the campground, especially if traveling with a larger RV or during peak seasons.

Foster Bar Campground Reviews
Newer bathroom facilities, but not well maintained. Site can be a little difficult to find since it is down a one lane road with pull offs. Once you're there, the sites are a good size, there is lots of tree coverage, and easy access to the river. Dumpsters down by the boat launch and running water at the campground. Very quiet out there. $10 per night.
