Fox Ridge State Park Campground offers essential services to ensure a comfortable stay for its visitors. A significant amenity mentioned in the reviews is the presence of a "great campground with shower house," which is a valuable feature for those who appreciate having access to clean and convenient bathing facilities while camping. One reviewer who stayed for four nights in site 12 noted the campground as "wonderful, small, and secluded," suggesting a more intimate and peaceful camping experience compared to larger, more crowded campgrounds. The reviewer also indicated that "nearly all of them are great sites to choose from" and that the sites in the front loop, where site 12 is located, are "pretty much level," which is important for setting up tents and parking RVs. It's mentioned that the back loop operates on a "1st come 1st serve" basis, providing flexibility for spontaneous campers, while reservations for the front loop sites can be made through the "reserve Illinois website." The campground has a total of only 43 sites and does not offer primitive camping, with most sites being electric. However, there was mention of "one spot that did have non electric." The availability of both reservable (front loop) and first-come, first-served (back loop) campsites offers flexibility for different planning styles. The presence of electric campsites caters to RV campers and those who prefer some electrical convenience. The shower house, while small with only two showers and two toilets, is a significant feature providing a more comfortable hygiene option compared to primitive camping. The secluded nature of many campsites enhances the sense of privacy and immersion in nature. The limited number of total campsites (43) contributes to the campground's small and potentially quieter atmosphere. The park's overall environment, being a state park, likely includes other features such as picnic areas, scenic overlooks, and potentially educational programs, although these are not explicitly mentioned in the provided reviews.

Fox Ridge State Park Campground Reviews
Very hilly, good trails, lots deers, birds. Great campground with shower house.
Dec 14, 2024 · Natha BStayed 4 nights in site 12. Wonderful, small, and secluded campground sites. Nearly all of them are great sites to choose from. All pretty much level sites. Back loop is 1st come 1st serve. We reserved site 12 (front loop) through the reserve Illinois website. There are only 43 sites total, no primitive. There was one spot that did have non electric. Only downside is the small bathroom/shower house. There is a pit toilet by site 17. The shower house only has 2 showers and 2 toilets.
