Gatlinburg Heights Introduce
Are you searching for the perfect "camping near me" experience that combines the tranquility of nature with the comforts of home? Look no further than Gatlinburg Heights, located at 820 Resort Way in the scenic Gatlinburg, Tennessee. This expansive cabin aims to accommodate large groups, offering a seemingly attractive option for family reunions, group vacations, and more within the popular Great Smoky Mountains region.
Gatlinburg Heights boasts a significant amount of space, indicated by its potential to house up to 18 people. This suggests multiple bedrooms and ample common areas, making it a viable choice for those traveling with extended family or large groups of friends. The presence of three large decks further implies opportunities to enjoy the natural surroundings and potentially take in views of the mountainous landscape that Gatlinburg is famous for.
For those seeking recreational activities, the cabin offers a hot tub and access to a pool. These amenities can be appealing for relaxation and entertainment after a day of exploring the nearby attractions, hiking trails, and vibrant town of Gatlinburg. The inclusion of a dishwasher also suggests an effort to provide conveniences that ease the logistics of accommodating a large number of guests.
While the description suggests a spacious retreat with desirable amenities, it's important for local users searching for "camping near me" to consider all aspects before making a booking. Reviews from previous guests offer valuable insights into the actual experience at Gatlinburg Heights. Some guests have reported significant drawbacks that potential renters should be aware of.
According to one recent review, check-in was delayed until almost 6 o'clock, which could impact the first day of a planned getaway. The same guest also noted a lack of essential kitchenware, mentioning only two glasses and very few utensils available. This could be a significant inconvenience for those planning to prepare meals at the cabin for a large group.
Furthermore, the review raises concerns about the cleanliness and comfort of the furnishings. Guests described the beds and couches as "gross," "very worn," and "uncomfortable," which could detract significantly from the overall comfort and enjoyment of the stay. The carpet upstairs was also described as "disgusting," indicating potential issues with overall cleanliness and maintenance.
A particularly concerning issue raised in the review is the reported development of "horrible skin rash" by everyone who used the hot tub. This suggests a potential problem with the hot tub's maintenance or water quality, which could pose a health risk to future guests. This is a critical factor to consider for anyone prioritizing relaxation and recreation during their stay.
The outdoor spaces, while described as featuring three large decks, were also noted to have a limited number of usable furnishings. With only five "very old rocking chairs" available across all three decks, seating for a large group outdoors appears to be insufficient. Additionally, the presence of "cobwebs all over the porches" suggests a lack of attention to outdoor maintenance and cleanliness.
In terms of practical amenities, the dishwasher was reported to not stay closed, potentially rendering it unusable. The refrigerator was also described as "very small" for a property supposedly accommodating up to 18 people, which could create challenges for storing food and beverages for a large group.
Based on this specific review, there are significant concerns regarding the cleanliness, comfort, and maintenance of Gatlinburg Heights. While the cabin offers a large capacity and some appealing amenities like a hot tub and pool access, potential local users searching for "camping near me" should weigh these reported issues carefully against their expectations and priorities.
It is important to note that this introduction is based on one publicly available review and may not represent the entirety of experiences at Gatlinburg Heights. However, as local users explore options for "camping near me," considering all available feedback is crucial in making an informed decision. It may be beneficial to seek out additional reviews or contact the property management directly to inquire about the concerns raised and understand any measures taken to address them.
When searching for "camping near me" in the Gatlinburg area, potential renters have a variety of options to consider. Gatlinburg Heights, with its capacity for large groups and advertised amenities, might initially seem appealing. However, the reported issues with cleanliness, comfort, hot tub safety, and maintenance should prompt further investigation. Local users are encouraged to explore all available information to ensure their chosen "camping near me" experience meets their needs and expectations for a comfortable and enjoyable getaway in the beautiful Gatlinburg region.
Ultimately, while Gatlinburg Heights offers a spacious lodging option in a desirable location, the feedback from at least one recent guest suggests that significant improvements may be needed to ensure a satisfactory experience. Local users seeking "camping near me" should proceed with caution, conduct thorough research, and potentially seek alternative accommodations that may offer a more reliable and comfortable stay.

Gatlinburg Heights Reviews
We would not stay in this cabin again. We were not able to check in untilalmost 6 o’clock. The kitchen had 2 glasses in it and very little kitchen utensils. The beds and couches were all gross and very worn and uncomfortable. Everyone who got in our hot tub got a horrible skin rash. There were cobwebs all over the porches. We had 3 large decks and only 5 very old rocking chairs between all 3 decks. Dishwasher would not stay closed. The carpet upstairs was disgusting. Very little and very worn lounge chairs at the pool. Very small fridge for a house that’s suppose to hold 18 people. Definitely not worth the money that we paid.
