Golden Pond Campground Introduce
If you're searching for "camping near me" in the Salisbury, North Carolina area, particularly if you're an RV enthusiast looking for a long-term stay or a peaceful getaway with your pets and fishing gear, Golden Pond Campground, located at 1145 Keeners Pl, Salisbury, NC 28146, USA, might be the ideal destination. Based on available customer reviews, this small RV park offers a unique and friendly environment tailored to specific needs.
A Nice Private Setting with Fishing Opportunities
Golden Pond Campground is described as having a "nice private setting," suggesting a more secluded and tranquil atmosphere compared to larger, more bustling campgrounds. A significant feature highlighted by a long-term resident is the presence of "two stocked ponds for fishing." This amenity will undoubtedly appeal to anglers looking to relax and enjoy some fishing during their stay. The fact that the ponds are stocked indicates an effort to maintain a healthy fish population, enhancing the fishing experience for campers. Imagine spending your afternoons casting a line in a peaceful pond, surrounded by the natural beauty of the North Carolina landscape.
Suited for Long-Term RV Living with Friendly Management
One of the standout characteristics of Golden Pond Campground is its suitability for "long-term RV Park" stays, particularly for individuals "working locally." This suggests that the campground caters to those needing a stable and comfortable living situation while employed in the area, such as travel nurses or other professionals on assignment. The review emphasizes that the park is "well maintained" and that "everyone is very friendly," creating a welcoming and community-oriented atmosphere for long-term residents. The mention of a "great and easy-going" manager named Todd further contributes to this positive image, suggesting that residents can expect helpful and approachable management.
Site Features and Infrastructure
Most of the RV sites at Golden Pond Campground are reported to have a "concrete patio," which is a desirable feature for RV living, providing a clean and stable outdoor space for relaxation and activities. However, another review notes that the RV lots "appear to be somewhat haphazardly scattered" and that the park has an "all gravel road." This is important information for potential visitors to consider, especially those with larger RVs or mobility concerns. The gravel roads might present some dust or unevenness, and the scattered layout could mean less uniformity in site sizes and orientations.
Laundry and Bathhouse Facilities
The campground offers a small laundry facility with "two machines" and an "aging bathhouse." While these basic amenities are available on-site, a long-term resident points out the proximity of a laundromat and a Food Lion (about 10 minutes away in Spencer), providing convenient alternatives for laundry needs and grocery shopping. This suggests that while the on-site facilities might be basic or older, essential services are easily accessible nearby.
Pet-Friendly Environment
For those traveling with furry companions, Golden Pond Campground is described as "pet friendly without breed restrictions." This is a significant advantage for pet owners who may have faced limitations at other campgrounds. While there is "no dog park," the campground does offer "areas to walk" your pets, as long as you inform the management about your pets upon arrival. This policy allows pet owners to enjoy the company of their animals in a welcoming environment, with the understanding of responsible pet ownership and communication with the manager.
Location and Accessibility
The campground is located "several miles South of I-85 near Salisbury, NC." While this positions it within reasonable proximity to the interstate for those traveling, one reviewer noted that it is "somewhat difficult to find." Therefore, it would be advisable for potential visitors to obtain clear directions or use GPS navigation carefully when traveling to the campground. The distance from I-85 could contribute to the "nice private setting" mentioned, offering a quieter environment away from the immediate highway noise.
Contacting for Availability and Booking
A crucial piece of information for anyone interested in staying at Golden Pond Campground is that they "seem to keep a wait-list," and the manager, Todd, should be contacted directly by phone at (704) 202-8812 or +1 704-202-8812 to inquire about availability. This suggests that the campground might be popular, especially for long-term stays, so it's essential to call ahead to check for openings and potentially get on the waitlist if no spots are immediately available.
Summary of Features and Considerations
Golden Pond Campground offers a unique set of features that cater particularly well to long-term RV residents, pet owners, and those who enjoy fishing. The "nice private setting" and the presence of "two stocked ponds" create a peaceful and enjoyable environment. The friendly management, concrete patios at most sites, and pet-friendly policy without breed restrictions are significant advantages. However, potential visitors should also be aware of the "all gravel road," the "somewhat haphazardly scattered" RV lots, and the "aging bathhouse." The proximity to a laundromat and grocery store in Spencer provides convenient off-site alternatives for some amenities.

Golden Pond Campground Reviews
Stayed here for 6mo while working as a travel nurse. Nice private setting with two stocked ponds for fishing, most sites have a concrete patio. This is a long-term RV Park suited to people working locally but it is well maintained and everyone is very friendly. It has small two machine laundry facility and aging bathhouse, but there is a laundromat and Food Lion about 10m away in Spencer. The manager Todd is great and easy going, you'll have to call him about a spot as they seem to keep a wait-list. Also, no dog park but they are pet friendly without breed restrictions and areas to walk, just let them know.

Oct 27, 2024 · Jim HagenBeautiful, peaceful, relaxing place to stay! I love it here! I've traveled all around the United States, staying in many campgrounds and I have to say this is definitely one of my favorites! The neighbors are all extremely friendly and welcoming! The manager here is always available, helpful and makes sure everyone is taken care of! You couldn't ask for a better experience or place to call home while you're here!! Would most definitely stay here again and will be sad when it is time to leave! Overall AWESOME!! Highly recommend Golden Pond Campground!
Oct 23, 2019 · Betsy RutlandRv parking lot behind someones house with 2 ponds. If you want to park like at walmart parking lot with what appeared full hookups and alot of tight turns to get in and out go for it. Did a ride through and made my decision. Not trashy but no amenities except a old carp pond and another pond. Not ging a good nor bad review. Just not my cup of tea and maybe help someone save a drive.
Apr 23, 2023 · Darrell HowellVery poor, ponds are green from algae and have leeches. Laundry room very small, campers are unfriendly and drink heavily.Owner and manager are at odds, upon arrival for a months stay neither could agree on who was to take the monthly rent, ended up staying only 24 hours before being kick out because my dog was barking at the drunk next door and was antagonizing my dog. Was asked to leave at 5 pm with a six year old knowing all other parks would be closed and did not ask our opinion or offer to let us stay till morning. Hypocrite church goers!!!
