Located at Gypsy Trail, Salamanca, NY 14779, USA, Bear Ridge Cabins benefits from its setting within the expansive and picturesque Allegany State Park. This renowned park boasts thousands of acres of rolling hills, lush forests, and sparkling waterways, creating an ideal backdrop for outdoor adventures and peaceful retreats. Staying at Bear Ridge Cabins means you'll be surrounded by this natural beauty, with opportunities for hiking, exploring, and simply enjoying the tranquility of the forest. The air is fresh, the scenery is captivating, and the overall atmosphere promotes relaxation and rejuvenation, making it a perfect choice for those searching for genuine "camping near me".
The core offering at Bear Ridge Cabins is its non-electric, rustic cabins. This characteristic is clearly highlighted in a customer review, emphasizing the back-to-basics experience. These cabins are described as clean and providing a "dry roof over your head," focusing on fundamental shelter and protection from the elements. This aligns with a certain segment of the "camping near me" audience that appreciates a more traditional and unplugged outdoor experience. While electricity is not provided, the cabins are equipped with essential amenities for a comfortable stay in a rustic setting.
Based on customer feedback, each cabin includes a wood stove inside, offering a source of heat during cooler months and adding to the cozy ambiance. Additionally, a stove and oven are provided, allowing guests to prepare their own meals, enhancing the self-sufficiency aspect of the stay. The inclusion of four cots/beds indicates that the cabins can comfortably accommodate small groups or families. A front porch is also mentioned, providing a pleasant space to relax outdoors, enjoy the surrounding scenery, and perhaps observe the local wildlife.
One reviewer specifically mentioned staying in cabin 26 and appreciated its location. It was noted to be close to the picnic area, offering convenience for outdoor dining. Furthermore, the cabin was within walking distance of trails and a store, providing easy access to recreational activities and basic necessities. Importantly, despite this proximity to amenities, the cabin was not directly on the road, ensuring a quieter and more peaceful environment away from occasional vehicle traffic. This balance of accessibility and tranquility is a significant draw for those seeking "camping near me" that offers both convenience and a sense of escape.
The mention of a "little hole at the bottom of the door" in one cabin, through which a mouse entered, highlights the rustic nature of the accommodation and the potential for encounters with wildlife. While the reviewer found this particular incident "adorable," it's a reminder that these are cabins situated within a natural environment, and guests should be prepared for such possibilities. Proper food storage and awareness of the surroundings are always recommended when staying in any outdoor accommodation.

Gypsy Cabins now named Bear Ridge Cabins Reviews
My bf and I took our first camping trip together here. We always stay in the same cabin now (26). There's a little hole at the bottom of the door and the cutest mouse got into our cabin it was adorable. It's a good location too, close to the picnic area, you can walk to trails and the store, but it's not right on the road so you dont hear the cars that occasionally drive by
Apr 20, 2018 · KirstenJust like the website says, non electric cabin in a great state park. Clean, rustic cabin, firepit, woodstove inside, stove, oven. This is a dry roof over your head and a stove for cooking. 4 cots/beds and a front porch. Good basic cabin. Bring your cooler.
May 22, 2021 · larry eversAllegany is always wonderful but I was very disappointed in the promised cleanliness and upkeep of the bathrooms and facilities during COVID. Bathrooms ran out of toilet paper daily, even after I told management, and they were cleaned late in the day and left dirty throughout the day and night. This was not the experience that I hoped for or was promised during the pandemic and is disappointing when we kept our reservations AND booked early for 2021 to support the parks system.
Aug 13, 2020 · Kelly MooreOk the cabins are one room rustic. If you not used to roughing it a bit get electric cause you will go through ice and fire wood. But allways a great time
Aug 13, 2019 · patrick storyThis park is awesome! Had a family reunion! Soooo nice! Clean, well-groomed public areas, children's playground AND clean restrooms! Thank you Allegheny State Park! WELL DONE!
