Hawthorn Haven Cabins & Chapel Introduce
Are you searching for distinctive "camping near me" options that offer more than just a standard campsite? Consider Hawthorn Haven Cabins & Chapel, located at 515 Hawthorne Rd, Waynesville, NC 28785, USA. For local users seeking "cabin rentals near me" with a touch of Southern charm and unique amenities, Hawthorn Haven presents a compelling choice. This establishment offers a variety of cabins and even a chapel, catering to a wide range of needs, from family getaways to wedding accommodations. While customer experiences vary, the overall impression suggests a place with both exceptional qualities and areas needing attention.
The environment of Hawthorn Haven Cabins & Chapel is situated in the scenic area of Waynesville, North Carolina. This region is known for its beautiful mountain landscapes, offering guests a chance to immerse themselves in nature. One positive review highlights the appealing aspects of the location, mentioning the presence of a dog and goats in a livestock area, which adds a unique, farm-like charm to the setting. The cabins themselves are described as being in a location that is close enough to enjoy the area's attractions while still providing a sense of privacy. This balance between accessibility and seclusion is often a key draw for those seeking a mountain retreat. The presence of a chapel on the property also suggests a peaceful and potentially picturesque environment, suitable for events and quiet reflection.
The features of Hawthorn Haven Cabins appear to be diverse, with individual cabins offering unique characteristics. One customer who had the opportunity to see every cabin praised them as "clean, accommodating," and noted the "little extras" that set them apart. These extras included "hand made quilts on the beds" and "farm fresh eggs from the chickens at the entrance," indicating a thoughtful and personalized touch to the guest experience. This suggests that some cabins at Hawthorn Haven provide a high level of comfort and attention to detail. However, another review presents a contrasting perspective, detailing issues with the specific "Bethel House" cabin. This review mentions problems with cleanliness, including significant dust accumulation, unusable fans, and a malfunctioning power outlet affecting internet access. It also notes the presence of amenities such as a pool table, video arcade, hot tub, and televisions with internet access, but points out that many of these were not in optimal condition during their stay. Specifically, remotes were missing, the internet was not working, pool cues were unplayable, the video arcade stick had a faulty joystick, the televisions were outdated, and the hot tub was difficult to heat. This suggests that while some cabins may be well-maintained and equipped, others might require significant improvement.
The services at Hawthorn Haven Cabins & Chapel seem to include providing accommodations and potentially hosting events at the chapel. The positive review emphasizes the seamless experience for a large group, including the wedding party, suggesting that Hawthorn Haven can cater to significant events and provide the necessary support for such occasions. The availability of farm fresh eggs is also mentioned as a service or amenity that enhances the guest experience. However, the negative review highlights shortcomings in the upkeep and functionality of advertised amenities. The lack of readily available remotes, non-working internet, and issues with the hot tub indicate potential gaps in service or maintenance. The reviewer also pointed out the poor condition of the pool cues and the video arcade, suggesting that these recreational facilities may not be adequately maintained for guest enjoyment. The stark contrast between these two reviews indicates that the level of service and the condition of amenities might vary depending on the specific cabin and the time of stay. Clear communication with the management regarding the specific amenities and their working condition for your chosen cabin is advisable.
One of the unique features of Hawthorn Haven is the presence of a chapel on the property. This makes it a distinctive option for "camping near me" that can also serve as a wedding venue or a place for reflection. The positive review specifically mentions the wedding party staying in the cabins, implying that Hawthorn Haven is equipped to handle accommodations for wedding guests and potentially host the ceremony itself. The combination of cabin rentals and a chapel offers a unique appeal for those planning events or seeking a spiritually enriching retreat in a natural setting. The farm-fresh eggs mentioned in one review also stand out as a unique and welcoming feature, providing a taste of local, home-grown hospitality.

Hawthorn Haven Cabins & Chapel Reviews
Our family and wedding party stayed in Hawthorn Haven Cabins. I had the opportunity to see every cabin. Each cabin was clean, accommodating, and had the little extras, which sets it above other places I have stayed. Everything was perfect! From the hand made quilts on the beds to the farm fresh eggs from the chickens at the entrance. It definitely made the weekend and my son’s weddings memorable. Thank you for everything! I would recommend this place to everyone!
Sep 26, 2023 · Loana LeverittWe rented a cabin for 3 days and actually had Thanksgiving in it. The reason this place gets three stars is bethel House where we stayed was severely in need of a cleaning, I mean there was dust on everything everywhere... We couldn't use the fans because if we did it would send dirt and dust flying everywhere. The other problem with this place is it advertises amenities such as a pool table video arcade hot tub and televisions with internet access. When we got there we couldn't locate any of the remotes, the internet also wasn't working, an entire wall had its power out as well, this was the same wall that had the modem and router on it. Last thing you want to do when you go on vacation is troubleshoot though, but we did. We never did find all the remotes, but the pool table is in really bad condition as well not the table so much as the cues though. Those need to be thrown out because they are unplayable. The video arcade also is essentially an arcade stick with an HDMI cord hook to a television and one of the joysticks is also in need of repair. The televisions are extremely old and could stand to be updated as well. The hot tub was stuck in economy mode and wouldn't get hot, we had to look up a manual online for it to be even usable. But the number one thing that really made this place not so great to stay we're the beds, oh my God those uncomfortable awful beds. Not a single one in the house was comfortable and there are five of them. The cabin itself is awesome and the location is pretty cool. We really enjoyed the dog and the goats in their little livestock area. All in all this place could be great but it needs a little bit of work and improvement. Whoever the owner is paying to clean this place they need to confront them because they're essentially just stealing from them.
