Hidden Pines Campground Introduce
Looking for a "camping near me" experience in the Egan, Louisiana area that offers a blend of convenience, comfort, and a peaceful atmosphere? Hidden Pines Campground, located at 800 Abby Duson Rd, Egan, LA 70531, USA, emerges as a highly recommended option based on glowing reviews from fellow travelers. This campground appears to be a "hidden treasure," providing a well-maintained environment and exceptional service for both overnight stays and potentially longer visits.
A Blend of Shaded and Open, Level Gravel Sites:
One of the standout features of Hidden Pines Campground is the thoughtful design of its campsites. According to visitor feedback, the campground offers a mix of both shaded and open sites, catering to different preferences and needs. Whether you prefer the cool cover of trees during the hot Louisiana summers or an open spot to soak up the sun, Hidden Pines seems to have options. The sites themselves are described as gravel and either level or with a very slight slope, which is a significant advantage for RVers and tent campers alike, ensuring a stable and comfortable setup. This attention to the quality and levelness of the sites speaks to the care taken in maintaining the campground.
Furthermore, reviewers have noted the good spacing between sites. This is a crucial aspect for many campers, as it provides a sense of privacy and prevents feeling cramped next to neighbors. The ample space contributes to a more relaxed and enjoyable camping experience. For local users seeking "camping near me" where they can comfortably set up their RV or tent without feeling crowded, Hidden Pines seems to deliver on this front.
Surprisingly Quiet Despite Proximity to I-10:
Convenience of location is often a key factor for those searching for "camping near me," especially for travelers passing through. Hidden Pines Campground is located near Interstate 10, a major highway. However, multiple reviewers have specifically commented on the surprisingly low level of road noise. This indicates that the campground is situated just far enough off the highway to minimize any disturbance from passing traffic, allowing guests to enjoy a peaceful night's sleep or a tranquil day at their campsite. This balance of accessibility and quietude is a significant advantage for both local users and those traveling through the region.
The access to the campground from I-10 involves a couple of miles down a narrow road that transitions from paved to gravel about halfway. While the road is described as narrow, the reviewer advises to "just go slow" to avoid any problems. This suggests that while the final approach might require a bit of caution, it is manageable even for larger vehicles like 5th wheels. The fact that a traveler in a 5th wheel would definitely stop again speaks volumes about the overall positive experience despite the road conditions.
Helpful and Friendly Staff:
Exceptional customer service can significantly enhance any camping experience, and Hidden Pines Campground appears to excel in this area. Both reviewers specifically mentioned the staff as being "very helpful and nice" and "super nice." This positive feedback indicates a welcoming and accommodating atmosphere where guests can expect assistance and a friendly demeanor from the campground staff. For local users, knowing that they will be greeted with helpfulness can make Hidden Pines a preferred choice for their "camping near me" needs.
Well-Maintained Facilities:
Beyond the quality of the campsites and the friendly staff, the overall maintenance of the campground is another significant positive aspect highlighted by the reviews. One reviewer described the entire park as "well maintained," suggesting that the grounds, facilities (though not specified in detail), and overall appearance are kept in excellent condition. This level of care contributes to a more pleasant and comfortable stay for all guests. Local campers often appreciate well-kept campgrounds, and Hidden Pines seems to prioritize this.
Ideal for Overnight Stays and Potentially Longer Visits:
The reviews specifically mention using Hidden Pines Campground for overnight stays while traveling through. The positive experiences of these short-term visitors suggest that the campground is well-equipped to handle the needs of those on the road. However, the positive comments about the facilities and the pleasant atmosphere also imply that Hidden Pines could be a great option for longer stays for local users looking for a relaxing weekend getaway or a longer camping retreat "near me." The well-maintained environment and quiet setting could make it an ideal base for exploring the surrounding Egan area or simply enjoying a peaceful break.
Promotional Information for Local Users:
For local residents in the Egan and surrounding areas searching for "camping near me," Hidden Pines Campground offers a compelling combination of features. Its well-maintained, level gravel sites (both shaded and open) provide a comfortable base for RVs and tents. The surprisingly quiet atmosphere, despite its proximity to I-10, ensures a peaceful stay. The consistently praised helpful and friendly staff contribute to a welcoming and stress-free experience.
While specific promotional offers are not mentioned in the provided information, the positive reviews themselves serve as a strong endorsement. For local users considering a weekend getaway or a short camping trip, the assurance of a well-maintained campground with excellent service and a quiet environment is a significant draw. The convenience of its location near I-10 also makes it easily accessible for those in the region.
To further promote Hidden Pines to local campers, the management could highlight any specific amenities that would appeal to them, such as on-site laundry facilities, recreational areas (if any), or special rates for longer stays. Showcasing the natural beauty of the Egan area and any nearby attractions could also entice locals to choose Hidden Pines for their "camping near me" adventure.

Hidden Pines Campground Reviews
Nice campground. Mix of shaded and open sites. Sites are gravel and level or very slight slope. There is good spacing between sites. Near I10, but there was very little road noise. After I10 exit it is a couple miles to campground down narrow road that turns from paved to gravel about ½ way. Just go slow and you will not have any problems. Staff are very helpful and nice. We stopped for one night when traveling through. I would definitely stop again. Camped in a 5th wheel.
Apr 08, 2025 · Ben RoperHidden Pines is a hidden treasure of an RV campground! We just stayed over for one night, but were pleasantly surprised with the facilities and the area in general. The entire park is well maintained and the staff super nice. It’s just far enough off the highway that there is very little road noise from I-10. Highly recommend!
Jan 18, 2025 · Maggie MooreThe campground made a nice two-night stop to break up our trip along I-10. It seems like it would be a really nice place, given the pools and other amenities, for a nice relaxing get-away. Apparently they often have music on the weekends. Really friendly owners and staff.Site #6, Pull-through, FHU 50/30/20 pedestal not tall enough for watchdog to clear the ground, no issues; water with reasonable pressure and 1/4 turn valve, no issues; 4" threaded sewer, no issues. Gravel, more than long enough for coach and toad. 0.4°, 0.3° - easy auto-level.Packet was ready, and we were escorted to our site. The first site we were assigned was not level at all, -2.0°, -1.1°. We still had the toad connected which meant I would have to unhook if I used pads under the tires because the pads would have been so high that I would not be able to pull forward off of them but instead would have to back off, which I can't do with the toad connected. Before I did that, I walked back to the office to ask if there was another site they could put us on. One of the owners, Stephanie, was really nice and said "sure," then walked out with me to find another site. I ended up making a lap around the campground so I could get the coach pointed in the other direction and had no issue getting into the new site or leveling with the toad connected. When outside, you can (barely) hear road noise from the Interstate, but not inside the coach with the windows closed.Big rig friendly, easy off/on from I-10.Lots of mature, tall pines and some tall, mature, deciduous trees.Garbage is picked up from your site each morning.Verizon - 2 bars LTE, T-Mobile 3 bars, AT&T Between 18.42 Mbps and 6.62Mbps down, 2.75 Mbps upOTA: All 3 major broadcast networks, PBS, usual other OTA channels. There is a women's and a men's area each of which has three toilets, three showers, three sinks, and a clothes washer and dryer. The washer and dryer are each $1.50 / 45 minute load and take quarters. Toilets and showers are a bit rustic, but clean. They also provide towels to use to dry the shower after use as well as a hamper to place the wet towels in.We would definitely stay here again if in the area.
Feb 21, 2025 · David SandersChatted with the staff/owner upon our arrival. Cool little family place with about 60 spaces 7/2024. We arrived during the week so it was empty. Kids couldn't wait to go to the pool with slides. Still enjoyed the play ground and swings. The baths are open all the time. Shower and washer/dryer inside baths. This place is awesome
Jul 23, 2024 · Andrew GregoireNot a big place but that’s a positive! Wonderful splash pad/pool playground for children with it somewhat submerged a little- makes for an okay spot for parents to sit in the water and safely play with the little ones. Pool for adults is pretty large and because it seems to be a smaller campground there was plenty of room for everyone there. Each corner of the pool has a sitting shelf which was awesome! Pool rules were fine… loved, loved, loved that the lady - not sure if she was an owner or manager- walked around ‘politely’ keeping things in check not just at the pool but everywhere- that’s awesome management for sure! If anyone was getting too out of hand she or one of the others would put them in check lol…Kudos to her and the other couple of people keeping tabs to make sure everyone was having a great time- again awesome management!!!. Saw that on Saturday they did a quick Bingo game, pretty cool giving clientele something to do, thought that was sweet for the older folks. Music is provided at the pool the whole time it’s open and pretty good too! People respected the ‘quiet time’ hours, clean, beautifully shaded, nice RV park… so far one of my favorites! Band had to cancel Saturday night but really no big deal, we had a great, peaceful, fun time! This place was more than five stars! Great place!
