Lafayette KOA Holiday Introduce
Looking for the perfect camping experience right here in your local area? Look no further than Lafayette KOA Holiday, conveniently located at 1825 St Mary St, Scott, LA 70583, USA. As a featured option in the 'camping near me' category, Lafayette KOA Holiday offers a variety of amenities and a welcoming environment for all types of campers, from tent enthusiasts to RV travelers.
Lafayette KOA Holiday boasts a large park with diverse camping spots to suit different preferences. According to customer feedback, the campground features a lake that is a popular spot for fishing, adding a natural and recreational element to your stay. For those seeking a quieter experience, one reviewer recommends the newer back-side of the lake area, suggesting that while it may come at a premium, it offers a more peaceful ambiance away from potentially livelier areas.
The location of Lafayette KOA Holiday is particularly noteworthy. Situated right off I-10, it offers easy access for both locals and those passing through. The town of Scott is also home to a variety of good restaurants and places to eat, making it a prime location for campers who appreciate having dining options nearby. However, it's worth noting that its proximity to I-10 may result in some noise.
In terms of services and features, Lafayette KOA Holiday appears to be well-maintained. One positive review highlighted the spacious sites, easily accommodating a 43’ motorhome with a dolly without needing to disconnect. The staff is also commended for being very nice and accommodating, even during challenging weather conditions like a historic snowstorm, where they allowed for daily reservation changes while keeping the guests in the same spot. The availability of propane on-site is another convenient service mentioned by a satisfied customer.
While one long-time visitor noted a perceived decline in service and an increase in local "party spot" activity, particularly on holidays and summer weekends, they also pointed out the park's size allows for potential separation of different types of campers. This suggests that while some areas might be more lively, quieter spots are also available, especially in the newer section by the lake.
For those unfamiliar with the immediate vicinity, one reviewer mentioned that the entrance, involving a double traffic circle, can be a bit tricky for first-timers, so it's advisable to pay close attention upon arrival. This is more of a navigational note rather than a reflection on the campground itself.
Considering the 'camping near me' category, Lafayette KOA Holiday presents itself as a conveniently located campground with a range of features. You can enjoy the natural beauty of the lake, potentially engage in fishing, and benefit from spacious sites suitable for even large RVs. The friendly service and practical amenities like propane further enhance the appeal. While some areas might experience more activity, especially during peak times, the option of a quieter area by the lake provides a balance for those seeking tranquility.
To get a better sense of the current atmosphere and availability, you can reach Lafayette KOA Holiday at (800) 562-0809 or +1 800-562-0809. In summary, Lafayette KOA Holiday offers a blend of convenience, natural features, and essential services, making it a viable option when searching for 'camping near me' in the Scott and Lafayette areas. Its location provides easy access to local amenities and attractions, while the campground itself offers various camping experiences. We recommend contacting them directly to discuss your preferences and make a reservation.

Lafayette KOA Holiday Reviews
Having family in Lafayette, this KOA has been my go-to location for many years. This last visit, unfortunately, will be my last. I have seen the service and quality of guests decline a lot over time. This is a popular party spot for locals, especially on holidays and summer weekends. The park is pretty large and it would be easy enough to separate the "weekend warriors" from the quiet travelers just looking for a peaceful place to sleep. My wife and I were obviously not party goers, yet were still placed in the middle of party-central despite there being quieter spots elsewhere. The main amenity of the park is certainly the lake. Pretty easy to catch some fish. If you end up staying here, I recommend the newer back-side of the lake area. You will pay a premium but will have a more peaceful stay. As for location, there are a lot of good restaurants and places to eat in Scott, making this a prime location. It is quite noisy since it is right next to I-10. The entrance is ridiculous and tricky if you don't pay attention to the double traffic circle. This, of course, is no fault of the owners.
Apr 30, 2025 · Gary HarrisonGreat location right off I-10. Sites are huge and perfectly fit our 43’ motorhome and dolly without disconnecting. Very nice people!! We were there during the latest historic snow storm. They allowed to change our reservation daily and stay in the same spot. We got propane before we left. It’s well maintained and quiet. Would highly recommend!!!!!
Jan 23, 2025 · Roxanna TisdaleStayed one night in a two-room camping cabin while passing through. Fortunately we got in early enough to enjoy the mini golf and pedalboats.Overall a very nice campground with a large pond at its center. Everything was clean and cared for. We loved how the cabins were situated with the front porches facing the water. Our cabin had 2 AC units, a small heater, two sets of bunk beds and a full bed (very comfortable). No fridge or table. One thing to be aware of is the road noise from I-10. The traffic goes through the night. I was prepared for this from what I read in other reviews, so we brought ear plugs. It also helps to run the AC unit to drown out the sound of the traffic (fan only setting on cooler nights).Overall we enjoyed our stay and would definitely recommend!
Jan 06, 2025 · Joshua NarleskyClean, quiet campground with lots of green space to walk the pups. Economy space we were in was tight for our 30ft 5th wheel. Stayed just evening and overnight. Close to shopping and restaurants. Entrance and exit is interesting with the roundabout. Would stay again if passing through.
Jan 19, 2025 · Clay DziobaEasy after-hours check-in. Clean grounds and spaces. Nice lake that was relaxing. Mini golf looks fun, but was only they're for sleeping that night. It's on the highway, so you'll hear it if you chose a space near it. I stayed further from it and it was quiet. Really nice people there! Great experience!
