For local adventurers seeking the perfect "camping near me" experience, Davis Roadside Park offers a tranquil and continuously improving campground in a convenient location. Situated at 1423 Herman Dupuis Rd, Breaux Bridge, LA 70517, USA, this park provides a peaceful escape with easy access to both nature and nearby amenities.
Davis Roadside Park has garnered positive feedback from campers who appreciate its quiet and somewhat secluded atmosphere. One reviewer noted that the campground was "very quiet and out of the way," offering a welcome respite from busier areas. Even when other campers are present, the spaciousness of the park ensures a sense of peace and privacy. This makes it an ideal choice for those looking to unwind and reconnect with nature without feeling crowded.
A significant advantage of Davis Roadside Park is its strategic location. While Lafayette is approximately a 30-minute drive away, the charming town of Breaux Bridge is much closer and provides all essential services and conveniences. This allows campers to enjoy the tranquility of the countryside while still having easy access to grocery stores, restaurants, and other necessities.
For RV enthusiasts, Davis Roadside Park is a particularly attractive destination. One recurring group of RVers mentioned staying at the park "at least 5-6 times each year," highlighting its consistent appeal and suitability for RV camping. This loyalty speaks volumes about the quality and ongoing improvements at the campground.
Recent upgrades have further enhanced the camping experience at Davis Roadside Park. A notable improvement is the completion and opening of a new bridge on the west end of the park. This new infrastructure eliminates previous height restrictions, providing easier access to restaurants and entertainment options in the surrounding areas. This demonstrates the park's commitment to ensuring a smooth and convenient stay for all visitors.
Another significant upgrade involves the utility connections at each campsite. The pedestals now feature 20, 30, and 50 Amp connections, catering to a wide range of RV power needs. This modern amenity ensures that RV campers can comfortably power their vehicles and appliances without any issues. These upgrades reflect the park's dedication to providing a comfortable and well-equipped environment for its guests.
The natural environment of Davis Roadside Park is also a major draw. The campground boasts ample shade, thanks to mature trees that create a cool and pleasant atmosphere, especially during the warmer months. The campsites themselves are asphalt, providing a stable and relatively clean surface for parking RVs or setting up tents. This thoughtful infrastructure adds to the overall comfort and convenience of the camping experience.
For those who enjoy recreational activities, Davis Roadside Park offers a nice boat ramp, providing easy access to the nearby waterways for boating and fishing. Fishing enthusiasts will be pleased to hear that "the fishing is good," according to a satisfied camper. This presents a wonderful opportunity to spend leisurely hours by the water, trying your luck at catching local fish.
Families with children will appreciate the presence of a playground within the campground. This dedicated space allows kids to burn off energy and enjoy some outdoor fun, making Davis Roadside Park a family-friendly destination. The combination of fishing, boating, and a playground ensures that there are activities to keep campers of all ages entertained.
In terms of local conveniences, a grocery store is located just two miles east of the campground in the community of Butte La Rose. This proximity makes it easy to stock up on supplies and essentials. Additionally, this grocery store is renowned for having "the best fried chicken on weekends," offering a delicious local treat for campers to enjoy.
Regarding facilities, it's important to note that the restroom at Davis Roadside Park is unisex and features a lockable door from the inside, ensuring privacy for users. While the review mentions that most RVers tend to use their own onboard restrooms, this facility is available and particularly convenient for tent campers. The availability of a restroom adds to the basic comfort and practicality of the campground.
The reviewer also mentioned that the provided pictures were taken in or from the campground, suggesting that the scenic beauty and amenities depicted are representative of the actual experience at Davis Roadside Park. Davis Roadside Park Reviews
Great place to camp! Very quiet and out of the way. There were 2 others there when I arrived by the time I left there was only 1 other camper. Lafayette is about a good 30 minute drive but Breaux Bridge is much closer and has everything you need.
Mar 31, 2025 · ks killaOur RV group stays here at least 5-6 times each year. The campground is constantly improving. First, the new bridge on the west end is complete and open with no height restrictions, providing easy access to restaurants and entertainment. Second, the utility connections have been upgraded, and each pedestal has 20, 30, and 50 Amp connections. There is ample shade, asphalt sites, a nice boat ramp and playground. The fishing is good. The grocery store, two miles east, in the community of Butte La Rose has the best fried chicken on weekends. FYI, The restroom is unisex, and is lockable from the inside. Most RVers don’t use it, so it will be available for tent campers. All of these pictures are in or taken from the campground.
Dec 31, 2024 · Chuck CantrellThis place is amazing. Yes there is some traffic noise because you are close to the road. But let me just say what a nice clean peaceful place this is. It has made me rethink traveling through Louisiana- I’ve decided to stay for a month- not here because there is a 10 day limit- but at a place nearby. $10 a day for full hookups too, you don’t get a deal like that anywhere that I have ever been.Lots of gator watching too!
Jun 05, 2023 · Catherine ClineNice location on the river, but the water was not working on site 12. They were on site to fix the water the next morning. Worth staying here, as it was peaceful, clean, and we felt rested! Would definitely stay here again! 😉
Oct 15, 2024 · Laura GriffithGreat overnight parking! Spacious spots to back into with pads to set up on. The campground was clean, with about 17 spaces. They are a first come, first serve so we were lucky to stay. We will stay here again.
