Indian Acres of Chesapeake Bay Introduce
For local users seeking a "camping near me" experience with a focus on family fun and a variety of amenities, Indian Acres of Chesapeake Bay, located at 645 Knight Island Rd, Earleville, MD 21919, USA, presents an interesting option. You can reach them at (410) 275-2181 or via mobile at +1 410-275-2181. Based on the provided customer reviews, this introduction aims to detail the environment, services, and features of this campground, highlighting its appeal for families and those looking for an active camping experience.
The environment of Indian Acres of Chesapeake Bay is situated near the Chesapeake Bay, suggesting potential access to the bay for scenic views and possibly related activities, although direct bay access isn't explicitly detailed in the reviews. The campground features "lots of open areas to gather with friends and family," indicating a spacious layout with communal spaces. The presence of ponds, some of which are noted for good fishing, adds to the natural environment and offers recreational opportunities. The inclusion of two pools with slides suggests a family-oriented environment with a focus on water-based fun. While one long-term "funstead" owner mentions living "off grid" in terms of cable access, this doesn't necessarily reflect the overall environment but rather a personal choice or limitation at their specific site. The general impression is of a campground designed to facilitate social interaction and outdoor activities within a setting near the Chesapeake Bay.
The services offered at Indian Acres of Chesapeake Bay appear to cater to a wide range of needs and interests. A significant highlight is the CampStore, which is praised for its delicious and reasonably priced food. This provides a convenient dining option for campers. The presence of a game room offers indoor entertainment, particularly appealing during less favorable weather or for evening activities. A covered pavilion hosts occasional weekend bands and DJs, suggesting organized entertainment for guests. For recreational activities, the campground boasts two swimming pools with slides, providing fun for all ages. Fishing is available at the T-dock and some of the ponds within the property. While the positive review highlights these amenities, a long-term owner mentions some negatives regarding the management team's accessibility and rules changing without much notice. Additionally, the lack of an onsite pumping company is noted as a potential inconvenience for those with RVs requiring such services. Despite these concerns, the range of amenities suggests a campground striving to offer a comprehensive experience for its guests. The "funstead" ownership model, where individuals buy into a site for long-term use, is a unique service aspect of this campground, though the initial review cautions about potential hidden costs and infrastructure issues associated with this model.
The features of Indian Acres of Chesapeake Bay are geared towards providing a fun and engaging experience for families and individuals. The two swimming pools with slides are a major feature, particularly for children and those looking to cool off during the warmer months. The availability of fishing at the T-dock and ponds caters to angling enthusiasts. The game room offers indoor recreation, while the covered pavilion provides a venue for live entertainment on weekends. The "lots of open areas to gather" facilitate social interaction and group activities. The CampStore, with its praised food, adds a significant convenience factor. For those interested in a longer-term commitment, the "funstead" ownership option is a unique feature, allowing individuals to have a consistent seasonal or year-round presence at the campground, although potential buyers should heed the advice to do thorough research. The campground's location near the Chesapeake Bay, even without direct access details, implies a feature of proximity to a significant natural and recreational area. The contrast in reviews, however, suggests that while the features aimed at recreation are well-received, the management and infrastructure aspects might be areas of concern for some.
Regarding promotional information, the provided reviews do not explicitly mention current discounts, special offers, or seasonal packages. The focus is on the experiences of long-term owners and short-term visitors. For local users interested in learning about any promotions, seasonal rates, or the costs associated with "funstead" ownership or short-term stays, it is recommended to contact Indian Acres of Chesapeake Bay directly at the provided phone numbers. Their official website or any online booking platforms they might use could also provide details on pricing and any ongoing offers. Given the unique "funstead" ownership model, it would be particularly important for potential buyers to inquire about all associated costs, including any maintenance fees or assessments for infrastructure projects, as alluded to in one of the reviews. For those interested in short-term camping, inquiring about seasonal rates and any discounts for longer stays or off-peak periods would be advisable.
In conclusion, Indian Acres of Chesapeake Bay near Earleville, MD, offers a family-oriented "camping near me" experience with amenities like swimming pools with slides, fishing opportunities, a game room, and weekend entertainment. The CampStore is a notable convenience. The unique "funstead" ownership model allows for a long-term presence, but potential buyers should conduct thorough research due to reported infrastructure concerns and management issues. Short-term renters seem to appreciate the recreational facilities. To obtain the most accurate information on pricing, availability, and any current promotions, especially for both short-term stays and "funstead" ownership, contacting the campground directly is recommended.

Indian Acres of Chesapeake Bay Reviews
We have been 'funstead' owners since 2007. We spend most weekends here enjoying life ' off grid' (we have been getting cable 'next year' since day 1). Good fishing at the Tdock and some of the ponds, 2 pools with slides, CampStore (delicious, reasonably priced food) game room, covered pavilion for occasional weekend bands & djs and lots of open areas to gather with friends and family. Some negatives are: inaccessible mgmt team, rules changing on a whim with little to no notice (outside of Covid restrictions), lack of an onsite pumping company.
Sep 27, 2020 · Jeanette AIt's a great place for the kids and adults to have a good time. We went fishing at night and hung out by the pool during the day.
Aug 25, 2019 · Mark GilbertMy wife and I recently purchased a lot in Glen 4, and we are so excited! My wife's family has owned places in Indian Acres her whole life, and we've always had a great time down there. We couldn't be happier that our 10 month old daughter will get to spend all her summers here.
May 31, 2017 · Tim BailerMy step daughters Father weekends there with his GF and kids.We visited and it was like camping in a clean State Park campground.Private lots or not, %95 are kept tidy w fire pits and clean lots.I understand the park discourages "year rounders" w some new laws. That is BS. Retired folk or rounders should be grand fathered in when any such "rule" is passed. No politics, great pool. Large and clean w plenty of deck space. No ridiculous list of do's & dont's; "No Glass"..Perfect....Bottom needs resurfaced smooth but wont prevent you from swimming in clear, clean water on a steamy, hot day.The deep end is 12' at the diving well which is a welcome plus. Lifeguards are attentive and on point. Meaning, safe for kids.Beach big enough for fun and a boat ramp round off a perfect family camp ground.Lake shimmers w the sun and is cool and inviting as it should be.Land has open meadows w mild rolling hills and cut ridges. Off the beaten trails the lush forest beds mingle pine w a variety of indigenous leaves. Just a short walk and you are alone w nature. The sweet smells of earthy woods, the absence of talk, music, traffic let your mind unwind."Let the sparkling tendrils of sun light warm your face, gazing up through the summer canopy; as the soft crunch of wooded foliage tickle your feet." T.S.This is an old school campground where preserving land and forest was more important than making maximum profit.Keep it that way.Guard gate serious with out being over whelming. You own or have a pass or turn around, perfect. As I would want it w kids and open vacation homes all over.*Over all, great experience. Open pit fire, good food, good people; so why change laws on residency?**It detracts from the happy, serene, Serenity that the Native American Indian forefathers no doubt enjoyed.lo llo
