Looking for an idyllic "camping near me" experience in the heart of Indiana's natural beauty? Indian-Celina Lakes South Slope Campground, situated near Bristow, IN 47515, offers a welcoming and picturesque retreat for campers seeking a serene environment and friendly service. This campground appears to be a favored destination for those looking to immerse themselves in nature, as highlighted by positive reviews from recent visitors.
One enthusiastic camper described their week-long stay as "very beautiful," emphasizing the scenic quality of the campsite. This suggests that Indian-Celina Lakes South Slope Campground is located in an area of notable natural charm, likely featuring the beauty of the Indian and Celina Lakes region. The presence of lakes often implies opportunities for water-based activities such as fishing, kayaking, or simply enjoying the tranquil views. While the review doesn't explicitly mention these activities, the proximity to lakes is a significant draw for outdoor enthusiasts.
The positive feedback extends beyond the scenery to the campground staff. The reviewer noted that the staff were "very friendly" and "always Pleasant." Furthermore, they highlighted the staff's attentiveness and willingness to assist, stating, "if you needed anything they'd be right there for you." This level of customer service can greatly enhance the camping experience, providing a sense of security and support throughout your stay. Knowing that helpful staff are readily available contributes to a more relaxed and enjoyable vacation.
The campsites themselves are described as "very nice," suggesting that they are well-maintained and offer a comfortable space for campers. While specific details about the types of campsites (e.g., RV hookups, tent pads, primitive sites) are not provided, the positive adjective indicates that they meet the expectations of visitors. Potential campers may want to inquire about the different types of sites available to ensure they can book accommodations that suit their specific needs and equipment.
The review does mention one area for potential improvement: the maintenance of the trails. The guest noted, "the only downside was I do wish that they would do a little bit more maintenance on their Trails there's a lot of down trees." This feedback suggests that the campground features hiking trails, which are a significant amenity for those who enjoy exploring the natural surroundings on foot. However, the presence of fallen trees indicates that some trails may require attention to ensure safe and easy passage. For campers who prioritize hiking, it would be prudent to inquire about the current condition of the trails before their visit.
Despite this minor concern, the overall impression from the review is overwhelmingly positive. The guest explicitly states, "But really really nice place to stay," reinforcing the campground's appeal. They even invited others to view their work on Facebook under the name "photo storm photography," suggesting that the location offers visually captivating landscapes and wildlife.

Aug 11, 2023 · Emily RoarkOne of my favorite places to camp! My last visit someone had even left a site-warming gift :)
Jul 22, 2024 · Graham ZBeautiful hidden gem!! Came here in 2014 and 2022 and had great experience both times. Nice shady spots that are spaced apart. Camp host Lonnie was friendly and helpful. Bathrooms clean and quiet campground. 5 stars for the beautiful campground, but the showers were disappointing as they only stayed on for 5 seconds without holding it in, which makes for a difficult shower. I get the concept, but 5 seconds, come on. And also disappointed we got wet firewood so we were unable to have a fire the nights we were there. Checked out the lake and historical house, which was nice. There wasn't a playground at the campground, but 2 swings and horseshoes by the shower house. The beautiful and quiet campground will have us visit again someday!
Jul 20, 2022 · Rachel DCampground hosts were great. Place was clean and well kept. Sites were roomy. There was one pit toilet for 4-5 campsites. It was the first campground we encountered that was 100% handicapped accessible showers. Only complaint was 1 there was no light around the toilet at night. Could have been lights were out during our visit and 2 we had severe weather come through and we were in a tent. Hosts drove by several times through the night to make sure we were ok.
Jul 31, 2018 · Meredith HauseleThe campground is beautiful with huge Cypress trees and long hiking trails around the lakes. The bathrooms and showers were well maintained and we were even able to buy ice. We were disappointed to find they were only fishing lakes but nearby Tipsaw Lake was only a short drive away to a beautiful swimming beach and park! The park hosts were wonderful, they even brought the grandkids a bag of goodies on a rainy day with coloring books, crayons and toys! We will be back.
