Kibbe's Island Park Campground Introduce
For local users in search of "camping near me," Kibbe's Island Park Campground, situated at 1400 Stewart Run Rd, Tionesta, PA 16353, USA, offers a unique and long-standing camping experience. You can reach them at (814) 755-3364 or +1 814-755-3364 for inquiries and reservations. This campground has been a cherished destination for families for over four decades, evolving from a primarily tent-based setup to accommodating more campers and recreational vehicles while seemingly retaining a beloved atmosphere.
According to customer reviews, Kibbe's Island Park Campground is generally considered a "nice campground" and an "affordable camp" that provides the essential amenities for a comfortable stay. This affordability makes it an attractive option for local families and individuals looking for a budget-friendly outdoor getaway. The campground is located on an island, which contributes to a sense of safety and a distinct environment where "groups of kids" can often be seen "walking around, exploring and playing." The presence of "plenty of 10mph road" further enhances its suitability for children to ride bikes and enjoy a degree of freedom within the campground.
One long-time camper, whose family has been visiting for 45 years, highlights the significant growth in the number of campsites and people over time. Despite this increase in density, they emphasize that "the atmosphere we love remains." This suggests a strong sense of community and a welcoming environment that has persisted despite the campground's expansion. This enduring appeal could be a significant draw for local users seeking a familiar and friendly camping experience close to home.
The island location offers a departure from the typical urban or suburban environment, providing a more natural and peaceful setting. As one reviewer notes, "It's a far cry from the cities and suburbs of Pittsburgh." This highlights the campground's potential as a nearby escape for those seeking tranquility and a break from the hustle and bustle of daily life. Despite the increased number of campsites, the campground is described as "peaceful," suggesting that the layout or the general behavior of campers contributes to a relaxed environment.
However, not all aspects of Kibbe's Island Park Campground receive universal praise. One reviewer expressed concerns about a "trash lot where all the old junked out campers and other assorted trash sits," noting that it detracts from the vacation experience. This suggests a potential aesthetic issue that local users might want to consider. The visibility and impact of this area on the overall campground environment are not fully clear from the review, but it is a point of dissatisfaction for at least one visitor.
Another concern raised pertains to "noise control after a certain time." The reviewer mentions that while they appreciate a good time, loud stereos late into the night can be disruptive, especially given the presence of many children. The lack of a perceived rule regarding noise levels after around 2 am could be a significant drawback for local users who value a quiet and restful night's sleep while camping.
Considering the information available, Kibbe's Island Park Campground offers an affordable and family-friendly "camping near me" option in a unique island setting in Tionesta, PA. Its long-standing popularity and the sense of community highlighted by a returning camper suggest a positive overall atmosphere. The amenities are described as "needed to keep it comfortable," implying that basic necessities are provided. The safe environment for children to explore and play is a significant advantage for families.
For local users considering Kibbe's Island Park Campground, it would be beneficial to inquire about the location and visibility of the mentioned "trash lot" to assess its potential impact on their camping experience. Additionally, understanding the campground's policies or common practices regarding noise levels after certain hours could help manage expectations, especially for those sensitive to noise or traveling with young children.
Promotional information for local users could emphasize the campground's affordability, its unique island location providing a safe and enjoyable environment for families, and the long-standing tradition of welcoming campers. Highlighting the opportunities for children to explore and ride bikes, as well as the peaceful atmosphere despite the campground's size, could be attractive selling points. Potential promotions might include discounts for local residents or special family packages during off-peak seasons to further enhance its appeal as an accessible "camping near me" destination.
In conclusion, Kibbe's Island Park Campground presents a compelling option for local users seeking an affordable and community-oriented camping experience in a unique island setting. While there are some concerns regarding aesthetics and potential noise issues, the campground's strengths in terms of affordability, safety for children, and a long-standing welcoming atmosphere make it a noteworthy consideration for "camping near me" in the Tionesta, PA area. Prospective campers are encouraged to contact the campground directly to gather more specific information and address any personal concerns before making a reservation.

Kibbe's Island Park Campground Reviews
Its a nice campground. My only complaints are ...The trash lot where all the old junked out campers and other assorted trash sits. Its not something i really want to stare at while on vacation. Also there doesnt seem to be a rule about noise control after a certain time. Im all for a good time, but after @2am stereos should get turned down. There are a lot of kids here.
Aug 13, 2022 · Patricia RogersMy family has had a camp here for 45 years. We have seen it go from mostly tents to campers. There has been a significant increase in the number of campsites and people. Still the atmosphere we love remains. It is an affordable camp with amenities needed to keep it comfortable. The people are friendly. The island is safe. There are always groups of kids walking around, exploring and playing. Plenty of 10mph road for them to ride bikes. It's not the same as having your own cabin on a few acres of land, or camping with tents in the woods. But it's a far cry from the cities and suburbs of Pittsburgh. Despite the density of campsites it is peaceful.
