Kinzua East Kampground, located at 32 Dustin Blvd, Bradford, PA 16701, presents itself as a potentially appealing option. Based on recent customer feedback, this campground offers a quiet environment with a range of amenities, including full-service sites and cabin rentals. Let's delve into the details of what Kinzua East Kampground offers for those seeking a local camping experience.
Situated in Bradford, Pennsylvania, Kinzua East Kampground likely benefits from the natural surroundings of the region, which is known for its proximity to the Allegheny National Forest and the Kinzua Dam and Allegheny Reservoir. This suggests a setting with potentially scenic landscapes, opportunities for outdoor activities such as hiking and fishing (as alluded to in one of the reviews), and a generally peaceful atmosphere. The review describing the campground as "very quiet" reinforces this notion, making it an attractive option for those seeking a tranquil escape from the everyday hustle.
Kinzua East Kampground appears to offer a variety of accommodation options to suit different needs and preferences. The mention of "2 full service sites and a cabin" in one review indicates that they cater to both RV campers and those who prefer the comfort of a cabin. A "full service site" typically includes water, electric (likely 30 and/or 50 amp), and sewer hookups, providing convenience for RV travelers. The availability of cabins adds another dimension, offering a more sheltered and potentially more comfortable option, especially for families or those who prefer not to tent camp.
The reviews provide some insight into the features and amenities available at Kinzua East Kampground. One reviewer who stayed in the "big cabin" described it as having "a full eat in kitchen with 2 bedrooms, bathroom, living room and huge covered porch." This suggests a well-equipped cabin suitable for families or groups. The presence of a kitchen allows for self-catering, adding to the convenience. The covered porch likely provides a pleasant outdoor space to relax and enjoy the surroundings, regardless of the weather. A smaller cabin was also mentioned, indicating different sizes and configurations might be available to suit varying group sizes.
In terms of recreational facilities, one reviewer mentioned that their niece enjoyed swimming in the pool, noting that it was clean, although a bit cold. The presence of a swimming pool is a significant amenity, especially for families with children, offering a way to cool off and have fun during the warmer months. The fact that it was described as clean is a positive indicator of maintenance.
The hospitality and service at Kinzua East Kampground seem to be a strong point, based on the positive comments in the reviews. Both reviewers praised the family or owners as "very accommodating and friendly" and "very nice people" who were "friendly and helpful." One reviewer specifically mentioned that they even brought extra wood to them, highlighting a personal touch and willingness to go the extra mile for their guests. This level of positive interaction with the staff can greatly enhance the overall camping experience, making guests feel welcome and valued.
One of the reviews did mention a specific comfort issue with the bunk beds in the large cabin, noting that the mattresses felt like box springs and were uncomfortable. While this was the only negative feedback in the provided reviews, it is an important piece of information for potential renters of the cabins, particularly those who plan to use the bunk beds. The reviewer themselves suggested bringing a foam mattress topper as a possible solution, indicating that this issue did not overshadow their otherwise positive experience.
Currently, there is no specific promotional information available in the provided data. However, the positive experiences shared by recent guests can be considered a form of promotion. The fact that both reviewers indicated a desire to return ("Will definitely be returning" and "We would definitely rent the cabin again") speaks volumes about their satisfaction with their stay at Kinzua East Kampground. For local users searching for "camping near me," these genuine testimonials from fellow campers offer valuable insights into the quality and atmosphere of the campground.
For local users in the Bradford, PA area looking for a quiet campground with friendly service and a range of accommodation options, Kinzua East Kampground appears to be a strong contender. The availability of full-service RV sites and well-equipped cabins, coupled with positive feedback regarding the accommodating owners and a clean pool, suggests a comfortable and enjoyable stay. While potential cabin renters should be aware of the comfort issue with the bunk beds and might consider bringing extra bedding, the overall sentiment from the reviews is overwhelmingly positive.
In conclusion, Kinzua East Kampground offers a seemingly pleasant "camping near me" experience for local residents and visitors in Bradford, PA. With its quiet atmosphere, full-service RV sites, comfortable cabins (despite a minor issue with bunk bed comfort), a clean pool, and exceptionally friendly and accommodating owners, it presents itself as a welcoming destination for a relaxing getaway in the Pennsylvania countryside. Kinzua East Kampground Reviews
We were there this past weekend and enjoyed our stay.We had 2 full service sites and a cabin. Very quiet campground with all the amenities needed. The cabin was very cute and clean. The family was very accommodating and friendly. Will definitely be returning.
Sep 16, 2024 · Stacy GlossnerMy family and I stayed in the big cabin and a smaller cabin right next to it this weekend. My Dad recently passed away and we were up there to visit his favorite fishing spots and spend some quality time together. The big cabin had a full eat in kitchen with 2 bedrooms, bathroom, living room and huge covered porch. It wasn't the most modern and up to date, but you're camping and we loved it! We gave the large bed/bedroom to my mom as she's currently battling cancer, and she was very comfortable and was able to rest very well. The other bedroom had 2 sets of twin bunk beds that were not comfortable at all. I think they were not mattresses, but box springs.. either way, they were very hard and you felt like you were just laying on the wooden slats. That was the only negative thing about the whole trip. We would definitely rent the cabin again, we would just bring a foam mattress topper or something for the bunks. My neice and I swam in the pool, it was clean.. but cold.. she didn't seem to mind lol. Everyone we encountered at the campground were very friendly and helpful. They even brought some extra wood to us. Very nice people, my family appreciated everything and really enjoyed our weekend.
Aug 18, 2024 · TONYA LANGNot a KOA I was expecting, been too a few others! Very run down, not well taken care off!The owners/Managers are older but niceWent to the bath house and the doors were covered in dead spiders and thick cobwebs! Had to use the restroom real bad as my husband was hooking up the camperThe toilets wouldn’t flush and the bath house was filthy in the inside, there was hair all over the sink and toilet. The shower was disgusting and the shower curtain didn’t look like it was replaced in years! Really disappointed but quiet and no WiFi. The pool water was warm but dirty too!
Jun 22, 2024 · Maria ClementSadly this place has gone down hill greatly! We used to frequent this place with my in-laws for their family reunions 15+ years ago and I don't think anything has been done to the place since then. The cabins are dirty and broken down. Bugs and spiders everywhere inside and out. The bathrooms were so moldy and the toilets aren't even bolted to the ground. I almost tipped the toilet over and I'm only 140lbs. The only positive I can say is, the pool was clean and the nearby Rimrock Overlook trail was a great hike with kids. I'd suggest a different campground if you're looking to stay in the area.
Aug 26, 2024 · Justine ColeThe family that runs this place is friendly and chatty and they care about their guests and the grounds. Bathrooms and cabins are so clean and well maintained. It's also a great home base if you're a State Park enthusiast and it's a great spot for star gazing. Definitely recommend!
