Lake Eaton Campground Introduce
For local residents in and around Silver Springs, Florida, seeking a "camping near me" experience, Lake Eaton Campground offers a conveniently located natural retreat. Situated in Silver Springs, FL 34488, USA, this campground provides access to the outdoors and opportunities for activities such as fishing and wildlife viewing. While specific details about the campground's amenities and environment are limited in the provided reviews, they offer some insight into the experiences of fellow campers.
Based on the available customer feedback, the environment of Lake Eaton Campground appears to be one that many appreciate for its natural beauty and access to wildlife. One reviewer noted "lots of wildlife," suggesting that the area is rich in fauna and offers potential for nature observation. Additionally, the mention of "easy access to fishing" indicates that the campground is likely located near or provides access to Lake Eaton, making it an attractive destination for anglers seeking a local fishing spot combined with camping.
However, the reviews also highlight a potential aspect of the campground environment that some local users might find less appealing: noise from generators. One reviewer specifically mentioned a negative experience due to a neighboring RV running a generator, disrupting the peace and quiet they sought. This suggests that while the natural setting might be tranquil, the proximity of campsites and the allowance of generator use could impact the overall ambiance for some visitors. This is a crucial point for local users prioritizing a quiet and serene camping experience when searching for "camping near me."
Another reviewer mentioned that the experience could be "perfect" if one manages to secure a spot away from others, indicating that the campground might have varying levels of site seclusion. The comment "it can get a bit crowded" suggests that the popularity of Lake Eaton Campground might lead to less privacy in certain areas. For local users valuing solitude and a more secluded camping experience, it might be beneficial to inquire about the layout of the campground and the availability of more isolated sites when making reservations.
In terms of services and features, the provided reviews offer limited direct information. The mention of RVs suggests that the campground likely accommodates recreational vehicles. However, details regarding the availability of RV hookups (water, electricity, sewer), the nature of tent sites (primitive vs. developed), or other common campground amenities (restrooms, showers, picnic tables, fire rings) are not included. Local users considering Lake Eaton Campground should contact them directly at (850) 523-8500 or +1 850-523-8500 to inquire about these essential services and features.
The first reviewer's suggestion regarding designated generator and non-generator sections is a valuable piece of feedback that local users might want to consider when planning their stay. If the campground has implemented or is considering such a system, it could significantly impact the experience for those seeking a quieter environment. It would be prudent for potential visitors to ask about the campground's policies on generator use and campsite allocation.
From the perspective of "camping near me," Lake Eaton Campground offers the advantage of proximity to Silver Springs, making it a convenient option for local weekend getaways or short camping trips. The reported access to fishing and wildlife viewing are significant features that could attract nature enthusiasts in the area. However, the potential for noise from generators and the possibility of crowded conditions are factors that local users should be aware of and consider based on their preferences.
Promotional information is not available in the provided reviews. Local users interested in any special offers, seasonal rates, or discounts for residents should contact Lake Eaton Campground directly using the provided phone numbers. It's also advisable to inquire about reservation procedures and availability, especially during peak seasons or local holidays.
In conclusion, Lake Eaton Campground near Silver Springs, Florida, offers local users a camping option with potential for enjoying nature, fishing, and wildlife. However, based on customer reviews, it's important to be aware of the possibility of noise from generators and potentially crowded conditions. For those searching for "camping near me," contacting the campground directly to gather detailed information about site availability, amenities, generator policies, and any current promotions is highly recommended to ensure a satisfactory camping experience tailored to their preferences.

Lake Eaton Campground Reviews
The first night was great the second someone pulled up next to me in a big class a RV and started their generator. I don't know about everybody else but I go to those kind of places for the peace and quiet and I'm sure they were there for the same reason but I don't understand why people like that come to a campground like lake Eaton just to make noise I'll not be visiting this campground again. There's too many dispersed camping in silver springs to pay to have a spot where you have to listen to the generators. Those inconsiderate campers ruined that place for me. Just an idea but we might can handle generators like we did smokers. Remember they had a smoking section and non-smoking maybe we could have generator and non-generator sections just an idea
Apr 27, 2025 · Dan AldridgeHad a great time. If you can get a spot away from others, it's perfect. It can get a bit crowded, but there are few spots more tucked away if you're lucky. Easy access to fishing and lots of wildlife!
Feb 21, 2025 · Charlotte ReneeEnjoyable camping experience. The spots are pretty large and ours had two picnic tables as well as a fire pit. There is a drop toilet in the middle of the campground and only a handful of spots so you don’t have a large group of people out there. No hook ups but bear proof trash/recycle bins. We did have an issue with ticks this time of year otherwise it was truly pleasant. Our neighboring campers were extremely loud all through out the night but that’s not necessarily the campgrounds problem. We did have a little bit of a struggle figuring out how to get back to the campground/site. There were several hiking options close by which we enjoyed (trails not well maintained). Seems most people were out there to fish or take dirt bikes/four wheelers out.
Mar 17, 2024 · Kris JohnsonAwesome for camping, no hookups but had a composting toilet. Sure sites are private and only 13 of them. The only difficulty is finding signs out on the road to lead you to the camp but my GPS put me right at their gate.
Feb 20, 2024 · Jesus AmaroVery nice campground. Most sites are easy to get into and very large. Mostly shaded, so not a lot of solar available, but the shade keeps the heat down to a certain degree. Mosquitos are a problem after sunset so bring you repellent if you plan to be out after dark.
