Lake in the Forest RV Resorts Introduce
For local residents seeking "camping near me" with a focus on RV accommodations and lakeside amenities, Lake in the Forest RV Resorts, located at 19115 SE 44th St, Ocklawaha, FL 32179, USA, presents itself as a potential destination. This resort offers a range of features that may appeal to families and individuals looking for a getaway centered around a lake environment.
The environment at Lake in the Forest RV Resorts is defined by its proximity to a lake, offering opportunities for water-based activities. According to one reviewer, the boat launch is a notable positive aspect of the resort, suggesting that guests have access for boating and potentially fishing on the lake. The presence of a lake often implies scenic views and a tranquil atmosphere, providing a backdrop for relaxation and outdoor enjoyment. However, it's important to note a contrasting perspective from another reviewer who described the sites as lacking shade, which could impact the overall comfort, especially during the hot Florida summers. Potential guests should consider this aspect when planning their visit.
In terms of services and features, Lake in the Forest RV Resorts appears to cater primarily to RV travelers. One positive review highlights the enjoyment of fishing and the availability of a pool, indicating that these are key amenities offered at the resort. The reviewer also mentioned that the campsite they occupied was "really nice" and provided "good shade," which contradicts the other review regarding the lack of shade. This discrepancy suggests that shade might vary depending on the specific campsite within the resort. The positive review also noted that the owner, Deb, was "really nice," indicating a potentially welcoming and helpful management. The availability of a pool adds a recreational option for guests of all ages, while fishing in the lake provides another popular outdoor activity.
One crucial feature mentioned is the boat launch, which is a significant advantage for those wishing to bring their own boats to enjoy the lake. This suggests that the lake is likely suitable for boating activities. The provision of RV sites typically includes hookups for electricity, water, and sewer, although these are not explicitly mentioned in the provided reviews. Given the name "RV Resorts," it is highly probable that these essential RV amenities are available at each site.
Promotional information is not explicitly provided in the reviews. However, the positive feedback from the reviewer who visited with their grandsons and highlighted their enjoyment of fishing and the pool could serve as a form of positive word-of-mouth promotion, particularly for families with children. The reviewer's statement that their grandsons rated it a "10" and wanted to return suggests a positive experience for younger visitors. To learn about any specific promotions, seasonal rates, or package deals, it would be best to contact Lake in the Forest RV Resorts directly using the provided phone numbers: (352) 625-6275 or +1 352-625-6275.
The address places Lake in the Forest RV Resorts in Ocklawaha, Florida, which is located in Marion County. This area is known for its natural beauty, including lakes, forests, and springs. The resort's lakeside location likely offers opportunities for observing local wildlife and enjoying the natural surroundings. However, as noted earlier, potential guests should inquire about the availability of shade at specific campsites when making their reservations.
It is important to consider the contrasting opinions expressed in the reviews. One reviewer felt that the place was more of an "RV resort" not ideally suited for a "3 or 4 night camping stay," citing sites being too close together and lacking shade. This suggests that the resort might be primarily geared towards longer-term RV stays or those who prioritize amenities over spacious, shaded campsites for shorter visits. Conversely, the other reviewer had a very positive experience, particularly regarding the amenities and the owner's friendliness. This highlights the importance of individual preferences and potentially the variability of experiences within the resort.
For local users searching for "camping near me," Lake in the Forest RV Resorts offers lakeside access, a boat launch, a swimming pool, and the possibility of good fishing. It appears to be primarily set up for RVs, and while one reviewer found the sites close and unshaded, another experienced a "nice" and shaded campsite. Potential guests should inquire about the layout and shade availability of specific sites when booking, especially if they are planning a shorter stay and have preferences regarding campsite spacing and shade.
In conclusion, Lake in the Forest RV Resorts in Ocklawaha, FL, provides a lakeside setting with amenities such as a boat launch and a swimming pool, which can be appealing to RV travelers and families looking for water-related activities. While one reviewer praised the experience, particularly the fishing, pool, and a shaded campsite, another found the sites too close together and lacking shade, suggesting it might be better suited for RVs and potentially longer stays. Local users considering this "camping near me" option should weigh these perspectives and contact the resort directly for detailed information about site availability, shade, and any current promotions to ensure it meets their specific needs and expectations for their camping experience.

Apr 20, 2025 · susan welchThe place is an tv resort not really set up for a 3 or 4 night camping stay. The sites are too close together and no shade. The boat launch is nice and the people are friendly. Just not really a campground as we thought.
Dec 20, 2024 · Maurice LeavittThe lady who runs this is very friendly, nice, and helpful. This is a bit out of the way, but that is also a selling point. Spots are shady and the whole place is very natural. The place is generally quiet with the exception of, in our case, a periodic dune buggy. It is on the lake and there is a floating dock for small boats. They have miniature horses which are exceptionally cute, but luckily I never smelled them at our camp site. It is a bit of a drive to most things, but overall this place is a nice, relaxing place to set up camp for a while.

Jan 26, 2025 · Loren BrownDrove 2 hours to check out this "resort" only to be told I must have a reservation as people live there. When I asked the lady on the golf cart "so I drove 2 hours for nothing" she said yes and I could have called. She said that I had to leave. I was there for all of 2 minutes. There are large ruts in the dirt road and the area I was able to see during my 2 minute visit was not nice at all. If there are any nice areas in this "resort" I didn't get to see them. This place is absolutely nothing like the photos on the website (except for the view of the large open area-it was beautiful). Save yourself time and avoid this one.
