Lake Guntersville State Park Cabins by RRM Introduce
For local residents in and around Guntersville, Alabama, seeking "camping near me" with options ranging from cabin rentals to RV sites, Lake Guntersville State Park Cabins by RRM, located at 24 State Campground Rd, Guntersville, AL 35976, USA, offers a destination with significant natural beauty and a range of features. Based on recent customer reviews, the park boasts stunning lake views and convenient amenities for RVers, but potential cabin renters should be aware of some noted issues regarding pest control and property upkeep. This introduction aims to provide an objective overview of the environment, services, and features based on the available feedback.
The environment of Lake Guntersville State Park is a major draw, with one reviewer specifically mentioning that their site was close to the lake and that the "sunset over the lake was gorgeous." This highlights the potential for picturesque waterfront views and the opportunity to enjoy the natural beauty of Lake Guntersville. The park's location within a state park suggests a setting rich in natural resources, possibly including hiking trails, wildlife viewing opportunities, and other outdoor recreational activities associated with a lakeside environment. Local users seeking a camping experience immersed in nature with scenic water views will likely find this aspect appealing.
In terms of services and features, one reviewer with an RV specifically noted "pull through sites" and "full hookups," which are significant conveniences for RV travelers. Pull-through sites make parking and departing easier for larger vehicles, while full hookups typically include connections for water, electricity, and sewer, providing a more comfortable and self-sufficient RV camping experience. The mention of "wifi" suggests that the park offers internet access, a valuable amenity for many travelers. This reviewer also described everyone they encountered as "friendly and helpful," indicating a positive customer service experience within the park.
However, the experience of a cabin renter was less positive, highlighting some areas of concern. This reviewer reported a significant issue with flies and gnats inside the cabin, to the extent that one guest was bitten multiple times. The presence of a fly trap in the room suggests that this might be an ongoing issue. The reviewer also noted a slow response time (four hours) for staff to verify the pest problem, which they felt wasted a significant portion of their vacation day. This feedback indicates a potential need for improved pest control measures within the cabins.
The same cabin reviewer expressed concern about the overall upkeep of the property, stating, "It is obvious there has not been any money put back into the property." This suggests that while the location itself might be appealing, the condition of the facilities, at least in the cabins, might be lacking in certain areas. Local users considering cabin rentals should be aware of this potential issue and perhaps inquire about the specific condition of the cabin they are interested in.
The review also provided mixed feedback regarding staff interactions. While the manager, Sydney, was described as "really nice and professional," another interaction with a front desk worker was described as "very unprofessional." The reviewer's request to see a hotel room for a potential future stay was met with a blunt "NOPE." This inconsistency in staff demeanor is something for potential visitors to keep in mind.
Based on this feedback, Lake Guntersville State Park Cabins by RRM appears to offer a desirable location with beautiful lake views and essential amenities for RV campers. However, local users specifically interested in cabin rentals should be aware of potential issues with pests and property upkeep, as reported by a recent guest. It would be prudent to inquire directly with the management about recent pest control measures and the condition of the specific cabin you are considering renting.
To gather more comprehensive information about the environment beyond the lake views (e.g., proximity to hiking trails, other park amenities), the specific services offered for both RV and cabin guests (e.g., restroom facilities, laundry, recreational areas), the features of the cabins (e.g., size, amenities, bedding), and any potential promotional offers for local residents or off-season stays, it is strongly recommended to contact Lake Guntersville State Park Cabins by RRM directly. You can reach them by phone at (256) 505-6608 or their mobile number +1 256-505-6608. Speaking with the management will provide the most current and detailed information to help you plan your visit.
When you call, be sure to ask about recent pest control efforts in the cabins and the general condition of the properties. Inquire about the specific amenities available in the cabins, such as kitchen facilities, bathrooms, and bedding arrangements. For RV campers, confirm the specifics of the hookups, site sizes, and any additional amenities like dump stations. Additionally, inquire about any recreational facilities within the state park that are accessible to campground guests, such as swimming areas, boat launches, or hiking trails. Don't forget to ask about any potential discounts or special offers that might be available.
In conclusion, Lake Guntersville State Park Cabins by RRM offers a potentially attractive "camping near me" option with a beautiful lakeside environment and good amenities for RV campers. However, local users considering cabin rentals should weigh the reported issues with pests and property upkeep. Direct communication with the management is crucial to get the most accurate and up-to-date information to ensure a satisfactory stay. By doing thorough research and asking the right questions, local residents can make an informed decision about whether Lake Guntersville State Park Cabins by RRM is the right choice for their next lakeside getaway.

Lake Guntersville State Park Cabins by RRM Reviews
I really wanted to love this cabin, but there were flies and gnats everywhere! One of my guest got but up pretty bad. It even had fly trap in the room. It took them 4 hours to come verify that we had an issue which wasted half of a day of our vacation This place could be really nice with a little pest control and upkeep. It is obvious there has not been any money put back into the property. Sydney was the manager was really nice and professional, but other workers were a bit rude. I asked to see a room in the hotel to consider a future stay, but the response from the the front worker desk was "NOPE" which was very unprofessional.
