The glowing customer reviews highlight several key aspects of this campground, making it a compelling choice for both short-term visitors and those considering longer stays.
The environment surrounding Lazy River seems to be a significant draw, with one reviewer specifically mentioning an "awesome spot by the river." This riverfront location not only provides picturesque views but also opportunities for activities such as fishing and exploring the riverbanks. The discovery of "treasures along the banks" and the mention of "lots of really neat history here" suggest a natural and perhaps historically rich environment that invites exploration and offers a unique charm beyond just a typical campground setting. The presence of the river undoubtedly contributes to a relaxing and scenic backdrop for any stay.
The services and features at Lazy River are consistently praised in the reviews, indicating a well-managed and thoughtfully designed campground. One of the standout features is the personalized check-in experience, where the "very nice owner meets you at check in then drives you straight to your spot!" This level of service ensures a smooth and hassle-free arrival, a welcome touch for weary travelers. Furthermore, the abundance of "pull through" RV spots is a significant convenience, making setup and departure much easier, especially for larger rigs. The availability of yearly sites suggests a strong sense of community and the option for a more permanent Ozark getaway.
For recreational needs, Lazy River caters to a diverse range of guests with both an "adult pool and a family friendly pool," providing options for relaxation and fun for all ages. Families with children will appreciate the presence of a "playground for kids," ensuring that younger visitors have their own dedicated space for entertainment. The inclusion of a "pavilion where they sometimes have karaoke or some event to join and have fun" indicates a social and community-oriented atmosphere, offering opportunities for guests to interact and enjoy organized activities.
Beyond RV sites, Lazy River also offers "cute little tiny cabins" as a lodging option, exemplified by the "cabin deluxe one" rented by one reviewer's family. These cabins, while described as having "just enough to sleep in," provide a comfortable alternative for those who may not have an RV or prefer a more sheltered accommodation. The positive experience of the reviewer, whose family faced travel delays and camper issues, underscores the owner's exceptional hospitality, being described as "nice and understanding" and willing to assist guests beyond expectations. This personal touch in customer service seems to be a hallmark of Lazy River.
The location of Lazy River in Eldon, MO, also offers practical conveniences. The reviewer noted that "Walmart/Hyvee/Gas Station, other main stores is within 15 minutes away. Not bad at all." This proximity to essential amenities ensures that guests have easy access to supplies and services without being isolated in a remote location. Additionally, the mention of a "little balcony to fish off of on the river" further highlights the riverfront access and the opportunity for leisurely fishing directly from the campground. While the main current might be too fast for fishing, the availability of a "spot on the site to load and unload your boat" caters to those looking to explore the river or nearby lake by water.
Essential facilities such as "showers, bathroom, coin laundry on site" add to the convenience and comfort of staying at Lazy River, ensuring that guests have access to necessary amenities regardless of their lodging choice (RV or cabin). The overall impression from the reviews is that the owners have done an "amazing job with this campsite," creating a welcoming and well-equipped environment that encourages repeat visits, as evidenced by the reviewer stating, "We will definitely be revisiting!"

Lazy River “The Best Dam Campground in the Ozarks” Reviews
Had a great 2 weeks here! Awesome spot by the river. Caught some fish and found some treasures along the banks. Lots of really neat history here. Everyone was very nice, helpful and welcoming. Would definitely come back!
Apr 20, 2025 · meg robertsWe have already been here once before and loved it ! Pulling through was easy. Very nice owner meets you at check in then drives you straight to your spot ! I love that alot of the spots are pull through to make it easy! They have an adult pool and a family friendly pool. They do have yearly sites, you can always call and ask . They have a playground for kids as well. A pavilion where they sometimes have karaoke or some event to join and have fun.The second time we invited my family and we rented the cabin deluxe one. Cute little tiny cabins ! Just has enough to sleep in. We had a long week, ran behind on check in time due to traffic accidents, everything in the camper started to break down on us but the owner was nice and understanding and still helped us with our needs. What a wonderful lady. Kids absolutely love this place. I love that there is a little balcony to fish off of on the river. The main one , current moves to fast to fish but they have a spot on the site to load and unload your boat . They did an amazing job with this campsite ! We will definitely be revisiting! Walmart/Hyvee/Gas Station, other main stores is within 15 minutes away. Not bad at all. Also, they do have showers, bathroom, coin laundry on site .
Jun 18, 2024 · Jacey M.We absolutely LOVE it here. We've been fortunate enough to camp all over the US and this campground is among the best. The new owners have worked their tails off making improvements and it shows as soon as you drive in. So much nicer than before. Highly recommend!
Jul 01, 2022 · Brenda BishopWe stayed here for a little weekend getaway the weekend before Memorial Day. This is a very nice campground that is mostly full of seasonal and monthly rental RVs and has a very nice community feel with lots of hoopties driving around. They have a few spots for nightly rentals which is where we stayed. This campground area has been here forever and I remember visiting friends here when I was little! The Campground has lots of beautiful mature trees and is right on the Osage River a few miles below Bagnall Dam. The owners now own Camp Bagnall also and both campgrounds are run out of one office. They have a family pool and and adults only pool. It was a little cool this weekend, so we did not swim, but there were lots of people using the pool all day Saturday. We were right across from the family pool and it was never too loud or annoying and the owners were enforcing the rule that kids needed to have an adult with them. The shower house / bathroom was very clean each time I used it and all of the facilities were well kept! The nightly camp sites are a little bit rough, but we had no problems. They are all gravel and most of them are in an area where there is a transition in elevation, so we drove up a slope to our pad area. The pad was almost perfectly level, but there was a tree in the way to put our canopy out, so we backed up a little and then lost the levelness. No biggie as we were able to level up with leveling chocks and had a wonderful weekend! I would be careful if you have a pretty big RV before using the nightly sites and would check with the owners before booking. Our 5th wheel is 32' and fit good!We will definitely stay here again! Oh, the restaurant "Southern Comfort at Camp Bagnall" was awesome! Some of the best fried catfish I have ever eaten!
May 22, 2023 · Brian McMilllianWe stayed here overnight it was “the best” campground we have ever stayed at! So much to do but so little time. Wish it was located in South Carolina we’d be moving there! Everyone was very friendly and accommodating! Here’s to hoping that we find the same in Branson and on our way home to SC!
