Mermaid Cove Marina & RV Resort Introduce
For local users in the Gravois Mills and Lake of the Ozarks region searching for "RV parks near me" or a "marina near me," Mermaid Cove Marina & RV Resort, situated at 16319 P Rd, Gravois Mills, MO 65037, USA, presents itself as a waterfront destination. They can be contacted at (573) 372-6112 or +1 573-372-6112 for inquiries regarding RV site availability, marina services, and other amenities. This introduction aims to provide an objective overview of Mermaid Cove Marina & RV Resort based on recent customer reviews, encompassing aspects of the environment, services, features, and any concerns raised by visitors, to help local users make informed decisions.
The environment of Mermaid Cove Marina & RV Resort appears to offer a lakefront setting, which is a significant attraction for those seeking recreational activities on the Lake of the Ozarks. One positive review highlights a "great family environment," suggesting a welcoming and community-oriented atmosphere. The presence of a marina implies direct access to the lake for boating, fishing, and other water-related activities, making it a potentially ideal location for local lake enthusiasts. The positive feedback also mentions "great amenities," indicating that the resort offers more than just basic RV hookups and boat slips.
The positive review further praises the staff, describing them as "great and prompt with your needs" and "accommodating." Specific mention is made of the managers, Steve and Melissa, who are lauded for doing "everything possible to make your stay exceptional." This positive sentiment suggests a customer-focused management approach and a willingness to ensure guests have a pleasant experience. The reviewer was so impressed during their initial visit that they signed a lease that same weekend, indicating a strong positive first impression.
Adding to the community feel, the positive reviewer also notes that "the local people or our neighbors at the campground have always been the best and great friends!" This highlights a potentially welcoming and friendly social environment within the resort, which can be a significant factor for those seeking a sense of community in their RV or marina experience.
However, a contrasting review presents a significantly different perspective, detailing a series of negative experiences. This reviewer moved to Mermaid Cove in May 2024, drawn by a "pond" view site. From the outset, they reported "trouble with the site," specifically mentioning erosion issues that were allegedly not adequately addressed by the management despite promises to do so. This raises concerns about the maintenance and upkeep of the RV sites, particularly those advertised with specific views.
The issue with the "pond" view was further exacerbated by a neighbor adding a large shed, which reportedly obstructed half of the view. The reviewer also described the pond itself as "basically a large rocky hole with minimal water in it," suggesting that the reality did not meet the expectation set by the description. This discrepancy between promise and reality is a significant point of concern for potential local users.
The negative review also recounts an incident at the "Tiki Bar next to the pool" where dogs were allegedly allowed not only in the pool area but also inside the pool itself. This raises serious hygiene concerns and suggests a potential lack of enforcement of rules regarding pets in common areas. For families with children or individuals concerned about cleanliness, this could be a major deterrent.
Furthermore, the negative reviewer claims that "there were several other issues at the rv park and rules that they did not enforce." While these issues are not specified, this statement implies a broader problem with the management's adherence to and enforcement of park regulations, which could impact the overall quality of life and enjoyment for residents and guests.
Feeling that the resort did not uphold its terms and rules, the negative reviewer requested a prorated rental reimbursement, which was denied. The subsequent action of being blocked from the Mermaid Cove Facebook page is also noted, suggesting a lack of professionalism in handling customer complaints. The inclusion of a picture showing "small" gravel added to their site further underscores their dissatisfaction with the resolution of the erosion issue.
In terms of specific amenities mentioned, Mermaid Cove Marina & RV Resort features a pool and a Tiki Bar. These could be attractive features for local users seeking leisure and social opportunities. The presence of a marina indicates the availability of boat slips, which is a significant draw for boating enthusiasts in the Lake of the Ozarks area. However, the negative review casts a shadow on the management and maintenance of these amenities through the reported incidents at the pool and the unfulfilled promises regarding the RV site.
Promotional information is limited to the description of "new 'pond' view sites," which, based on the negative review, may not live up to expectations. The positive review implicitly promotes the family-friendly environment and the helpfulness of the staff and managers. However, there are no specific discounts or special offers mentioned in the provided feedback.
In conclusion, Mermaid Cove Marina & RV Resort offers a lakefront location on the Lake of the Ozarks with amenities such as a marina, pool, and Tiki Bar, potentially providing a great family environment with accommodating staff. However, recent feedback also highlights significant concerns regarding erosion issues at RV sites, discrepancies between advertised views and reality, alleged lack of rule enforcement (including pets in the pool), and unresolved customer service issues. Local users searching for "RV parks near me" or a marina in the Gravois Mills area should carefully weigh these contrasting experiences. It is strongly recommended to contact Mermaid Cove Marina & RV Resort directly at (573) 372-6112 or +1 573-372-6112 to inquire about the current status of the RV sites, the condition of the pond, pet policies around the pool, rule enforcement, and marina services. Visiting the resort in person might also be beneficial to assess the environment and the upkeep of the facilities firsthand before making a commitment.

Apr 04, 2025 · Jeff BarnettPromises Made, None Kept. We moved to Mermaid Cove in May 2024 after placing a deposit on one of their new "pond" view sites. Since day 1 there was trouble with the site. Told, when things slowed down they would get to it. Our site started to erode off the side of the rv site. Then we had a neighbor move to the next site. Nice people but they added a very large shed to their site so then we lost half of the pond view. Pond is basically a large rocky hole with minimal water in it. At the end of October they moved our camper off of the lot to do the required work. Did some but not good enough for the erosion issue. During the summer we did go a few times to the Tiki Bar next to the pool. While there we witnessed dogs not only in the pool area but actually in the pool with their owners. Gross...There were several other issues at the rv park and rules that they did not enforce.Since we felt that they did not abide by their terms and rules we requested a prorated rental reimbursement. They denied our request saying they did all they could. And then acting like mature adults with Mermaid Cove they blocked me from their Facebook page. 🤣🤣 They get 1 star. Pic is the "small" gravel that they added.
Dec 06, 2024 · Cindi DampfWe moved to Mermaid in May. We did not have a way to get our RV over to our site. Steve and Melissa came to our old campground to check out the situation for us. We received a phone call later that day saying they were coming over with their truck to bring it to our new campsite. Steve, Mike Belt, Tya and Scott came over to get us moved. They brought the camper to our spot and even helped us get it in place and leveled. Talk about going out of their way to make us feel at home. Steve has also loaned us a trailer numerous times to bring lumber in to build a deck by our shed. Couldn’t appreciate it anymore than we did. Our campsite is perfect and spacious with a nice fire ring for the coolEvenings. The newly redone pool area and the tiki bar are a fun place to hang out to get a cool refreshment and play corn hole or pool and listen to music. They plan activities monthly for everyone to join and instill a sense of community here. The gals that bartend at the Tiki bar are as sweet as can be! The Sea store is furnished with pretty much all the things you may need to camp comfortably. Moving here was one of the best decisions we have made. Come stay-you won’t regret it.#mermaid #Belt
Jul 27, 2023 · Staci ReevesWe just stayed at Mermaid Cove, and unfortunately, we were pretty disappointed. As some of the other reviews have pointed out, Mermaid Cove is more of a long-term RV resort. There are very few spots for weekend/traveling RV campers, and those spots seem to be at the very back of the resort away from the water. The new “pull-through” spots that we had (we're a family with multiple rigs) were horrible. The spots weren’t level whatsoever (front to back), the spots were so close together that I had to retract my awning so my brother could pull his rig next to my site, and the worst part is, the sites were right next to P Rd. When I say right next to P Rd, I mean the front of your rig will be within 20 feet of P Rd, which is a public road. There isn’t room to park your car behind the rig, so you had to either pull into your spot from P rd, or stop on the road and back into your spot…and P Rd is a fairly busy road. It really doesn’t feel like you’re a part of the resort at all in those sites. My parents also stayed in the covered glamping wagon, and that wasn’t a great experience for them as well. No cell phone signal, Wi-Fi didn’t work most of the time, and no TV. The picture of the wagon on the Mermaid Cove website doesn't accurately depict how it's situated because the wagon is actually located right next to the pier/tiki bar/roads. With the walls/ceiling being made of cloth, there were nights they couldn’t get to sleep until well after midnight because all of the noise/music from the bar and boat/car traffic. The resort has plenty of construction going on, and hopefully they’ll be more accommodating toward traveling RV campers in the future. Either way, unfortunately I don’t think we’ll be going back. Too expensive for the quality and size of sites, and we feel the website doesn’t accurately depict what you’re paying for.
Aug 07, 2023 · Nathan SmithMermaid Cove has been our home away from home for many years. Multiple times we have had friends and family come visit and end up staying because they love the Cove! They are constantly working to improve the resort for their tenants and their guests. From the staff to all of the amenities Mermaid Cove is a one of a kind RV resort and will always be recommended to anyone looking for a clean, safe, fun, and family friendly resort!
