Lakeside Campground Introduce
For local residents in Ohio exploring "camping near me," Lakeside Campground, situated at 6180 Bedell Rd, Berlin Center, OH 44401, USA, offers a lakeside setting with contact numbers (330) 547-2250 and +1 330-547-2250. When considering local campgrounds, it's important to weigh the experiences of other campers to determine if a particular location aligns with your preferences and needs for a camping getaway.
One recent reviewer expressed significant disappointment with their experience at Lakeside Campground, raising serious concerns about the social atmosphere and security. They stated, "I'm really disappointed in this campground. If you like to be around a bunch of drunks, this is the place to be, and not talking about drinking to be social, I'm talking about fall down drunks and obnoxious people." This paints a concerning picture of the campground's environment, suggesting that disruptive behavior related to excessive alcohol consumption may be prevalent. The reviewer further shared a disturbing experience regarding security, stating, "My camper was broken into twice here, and the owners were two doors down." This raises significant questions about the security measures in place and the responsiveness of the campground management to such incidents. Based on their negative experiences, the reviewer strongly advised others to "find another campground!" and concluded with a direct and emphatic, "Sorry, not sorry." This review presents a critical perspective on the safety and social environment at Lakeside Campground.
In contrast, another reviewer shared a positive experience related to a specific event, stating, "Tonight we were able to do Trick or Treating. Great time. our friend has a camp space there." This indicates that Lakeside Campground may host family-friendly activities and events that can be enjoyable for visitors and their guests. The fact that trick-or-treating was organized suggests a sense of community and a willingness to create engaging experiences for campers, particularly those with children. However, this reviewer also mentioned a point of disagreement with a campground policy, noting, "I don't agree you have to pay to have guests." This suggests that Lakeside Campground may have a fee structure for visitors of campers, which is a factor local users might want to consider, especially if they anticipate having guests during their stay.
Considering these two reviews, the environment at Lakeside Campground appears to have contrasting aspects. On one hand, there's a suggestion of a potentially disruptive social atmosphere with concerns about excessive drinking and security issues, as highlighted by one reviewer. On the other hand, the campground seems to foster a sense of community by organizing events like trick-or-treating, indicating a family-friendly potential. The presence of a lake, implied by the name "Lakeside Campground," likely contributes to the natural environment, offering potential scenic views and possibly water-related activities. However, the reviews do not provide specific details about the lake itself or the immediate surroundings of the campground.
Information regarding the specific services and features of Lakeside Campground is limited to what can be inferred from the reviews. We can speculate on some potential offerings based on the nature of campgrounds and the comments provided:
- Lakeside Location: The name strongly suggests proximity to a lake, which likely offers scenic views and potentially recreational activities such as fishing or boating (though these are not explicitly mentioned).
- Campsites: The existence of "camp space" implies the availability of individual campsites for tents and/or RVs. The types of hookups available (electrical, water, sewer) are not mentioned.
- Event Organization: The hosting of trick-or-treating indicates that the campground may organize or allow special events and activities for campers.
- Guest Policy: There is a mention of a policy requiring payment for guests, which is a feature potential visitors should be aware of. The specifics of this fee structure are not provided.
- Security: The serious concern raised about multiple break-ins and the perceived lack of effective response from the owners highlights a potential issue with campground security. Local users may want to inquire about security measures in place.
To obtain a comprehensive list of the services and features available at Lakeside Campground, including details about campsite types, amenities (restrooms, showers, laundry, etc.), lake access and activities, security protocols, guest policies and fees, and any other offerings, local users are strongly encouraged to contact the campground directly at (330) 547-2250 or +1 330-547-2250. Asking specific questions based on the concerns and positive aspects raised in the reviews would be a prudent approach.
Promotional information is not explicitly present in the provided reviews. The negative review regarding the social atmosphere and security issues could, unfortunately, deter potential local users. Conversely, the mention of a "Great time" during the trick-or-treating event could attract families looking for campgrounds that offer activities. However, the disagreement with the guest fee policy might be a deterrent for those who frequently have visitors. For Lakeside Campground to effectively promote itself to local users, addressing the serious security concerns and the issue of disruptive behavior would likely be paramount. Highlighting any family-friendly events and clearly outlining all policies, including those related to guests and security, would also be beneficial. Potential local users might inquire about any community guidelines or rules in place to ensure a safe and enjoyable environment for all campers.
In conclusion, Lakeside Campground in Berlin Center, Ohio, offers a location near a lake and appears to host community events. However, potential local users should be aware of a significant negative review highlighting concerns about excessive drinking, obnoxious behavior, and multiple instances of camper break-ins with a perceived lack of adequate response from the owners. While another review mentions a positive experience with trick-or-treating, it also points out a policy of charging for guests. For local residents considering Lakeside Campground as a "camping near me" option, it is strongly recommended to contact the campground directly to inquire about their policies on guest fees, security measures, and the management of disruptive behavior. Seeking additional, more recent reviews from other campers might also provide a broader and more balanced perspective to aid in making an informed decision.

Sep 29, 2024 · laurie ᗪᗩᗰᑌTᕼThey have a hillbilly sign that is hardly legible and frankly reads as tho someone with limited education wrote it. Also, someone said I was rude because I said it was my first time and last time there. I am just straight to the point and matter of fact. I paid the cover charge but I have no desire to return there. Thanks 😉
Apr 16, 2023 · Jen E.I was profiled by the owner of the campground because she thought I was under 18 (I’m 20). I showed her my military CAC/ID she took it and called it fake. I said that it’s real and other veterans were telling her it’s real. After her refusing to give it back The police had to come and tell her the same thing. She threatened to Evict us i I were to correct her again. I tell all my soldiers not to go there at all. Not veteran/military friendly!!!! Oh did I tell you she makes sarcastic comments to me and my family. I only go there because it’s closer to camp Garfield the my house!!!
